    I just discovered your content and am so grateful that I did! For those of us out here actually getting started in this space, we appreciate having some practical insight on this topic. Most other content creators in this space only focus on almost the "fairytale" version of what it's actually like winning government contracts.

    So I am semi experienced, iv done some falederal level contracts as a sub (knowing what I know now, they where probably breaking laws.. but they also lost their ass doing it (long story)
    Now iv done state level contracts (I'm a fence contractor) that lead me to doing supply contracts for other things started as fencing supplies then turned into peices of equipment, office furniture, gym lockers, small drones to a state college. Basically stuff that I am I guess acting as a "middle man" finding whatever the contract is calling for, putting in a bid to purchase it, have it shipped to the location and if necessary have setup. So far all of that iv done very little actual on the ground work for. Is this the type of thing that I would be in legal hot water doing on a federal level?
    Added note if it matters i am a SDVOSB company.

    • @DrCurtisJr
      @DrCurtisJr  Год назад +1

      I do not subscribe to the middleman strategy at all. That strategy is based on a misinterpretation of FAR Part 13. In short, you should do at least 50% of the work as a Prime contractor.

  • @salustianozapata8856
    @salustianozapata8856 Год назад

    When you mention that you have to do 35% of the work for construction contracts does that include office personnel or is it 35% on-site?

    • @DrCurtisJr
      @DrCurtisJr  Год назад

      The Prime contractor and its employees must do most of the actual work. You cannot sub out most of the work to remain compliant with the FAR. Services contracts required more than 50%. Therefore, companies of elect a 51/49, 60/40, 80/20 split.

      I am glad you found our channel and enjoy the content. I understand the hesitation, especially with so many "so-called gurus" spreading misinformation. We are compiling the testimonial now. You will see a few on our website at 8figuregovcon.com. The content that I provide for FREE on this channel will give you some indication of my teaching style. I plan to interview a few of my students in the upcoming weeks so they can provide a candid perspective regarding the class. We have more than 20+ hours of on-demand content plus two monthly zooms where I help my students address questions regarding the content or help them navigate the implementation of the principles taught. While we work to compile more testimonials, keep tuning into the free content. No pressure, but remember our 20% discount expired on January 31, 2023. The Coupon Code is GOVCON2023. I am the one people call after being duped and led astray by other self-proclaimed gurus with great marketing and no real content. I have surveyed the landscape and I am confident that you will not find actionable content even remotely close to what we provide. However, it is no rush to make a decision, I will keep providing content-rich videos for FREE on RUclips. You will pick up great insight just by watching content here without the fluff. With an MBA, M.S. in Project Management, and Ph.D in Business Management (March 2023), my students obtain a business crash course by taking classes with me. We combine the practical and theoretical based on my progressive 26+ years of experience in government contracting.

    This is cap. We have won several government contracts as the middle man and the government agency knew that for sure. We even won proposals letting them know we have subcontractors.
    The middle man does the admin work which is considered as 50 percent such as scheduling, coordinating and invoicing.
    Pass through applies to using someone’s set aside as your own, that’s illegal.

    • @DrCurtisJr
      @DrCurtisJr  Год назад

      Lol! Your comments are cap and riddled with misinformation. But, please stop repeating talking points from your coach and read the FAR. Never tell anyone that coordinating, invoicing, and scheduling is 50% of the work. Let me guess, your coach told you that nonsense. However, if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you too. You don’t have to believe me, keep me keep playing with fire. You want to believe what you are being taught is the right way so badly. Best wishes to you and thank you for stimulating the algorithm.

      @@DrCurtisJr Wow. so Admin work is not 50%? even though the contracting officer knows we are doing the
      admin work.

    • @DrCurtisJr
      @DrCurtisJr  Год назад

      @@benji8875 No, admin work does not qualify for 50% of the work. You must examine how much actual work the Prime performs based on the SOW/PWS. Although the contracting officer has not said anything does not mean you are compliant. I would hate to see you get hemmed up if and when something goes wrong, but what do I know -- I was just named a Gamechanger by the White House for this in 2020, have an MBA, M.S. in Project Management, a Ph.D. in business (February 2023), and have been doing this for 26+ years.
