  • When I first got my hands on the SA-35, I was blown away at how well it shot and how comfortable it was. I wasn’t super familiar with the P-35 pistol, so...

    I am a die-hard traditionalist. That being said, that's a nice modernized SA-35.

I think Springfield Armory's factory, out of the box, is true to the look and feel, of an original hi-power. Only a very few modern upgrades were done, with care, and keeps the pistol, looking great. The elimination of the trigger disconnect, when the magazine is out is a good modern upgrade. Sights and modernized grip tang, were another great change. The free falling 15 round magazine is another great change. I must say, the gun in this video was over done, to the point, the pistol vaguely resembles a hi-power anymore. Not what I, as a traditionalist, would like.

I’m with you in that 100%. The good news though is he could buy another one and keep it factory original. He looks bucked-up with cash. 😂

Good looking pistol, but I'm not a fan of the large "SA-35" tag on the right side of the slide. You already tagged the back end of the slide with the company logo, so IMO it didn't need the oversized model designation in a tacky font that will not age well. Respect the clean lines for what they are....
Still -- a great looking piece that anyone would be happy to own.✌️

Any idea on which particular model of Trijicon HD front sight was used on your SA-35.
I’d like to know if you could put in the HD front and keep the OEM U notch rear.

Hmm.. I like the SA 35 because it looks old school but holds a lot more rounds and no magazine disconnect (better trigger). I like the WW2 look with the modern reliabilty to feed hollow points. I would carry a PO 8 Luger if it was reliable. Too each his own.

The 15 shot flush fit Mec-Gar magazine can be used with any vintage of Hi Power :) FN , post WW2 produced a slightly extended 21 shot magazine that really upped the firepower game in the 1950/1960’s , and was used by the SAS… and later the FBI HRU that based alot of its equipment and tactics on its cross training with the SAS.
SARCO has a batch of newly made 21rd mags in stock… I just ordered 2, to try.

I’d so much rather have this then the new FN “High” Power (yes.. they spell it like that)

I woulda kept the original finish and I’d never had the “SA-35” etched into the slide. The porting though ruined the gun. The internal components I think are good. BHSpring solutions has an awesome extractor.

Sorry, but no, definitely not to my taste post customization, especially the gaudy laser etching work.
Buuut, as long as you like it, it's all good.

      Yes, I agree!
There is this content and the content on the SOCOM 16.
      Both were outstanding!
However, we were left wondering what these upgrades cost and what they were worth?

When is this going to become available as far as it being able to be purchased immediately and NOT going on a waiting list????
I have literally been waiting on Sportsman Outdoor Superstore since
    NOVEMBER of LAST year. WTF?!

Already is coming more available with patience, one just became available to me locally and at $70 under MSRP not the 100-300 dollar gouging that has been going on Gunbroker.
