      @@justjenny581 Thanks for the tips. 😊 I use silk pillow cases too,(probably should have stated that) but since I sleep "wild" sometimes I use the bonnet to keep my hair together and kept my hair from drying out. I've tried to keep the bonnet on my forehead, but somewhere in the night it slips off. As far as butters.....to thick for my hair. Will find an solution, has to be a company out there that has one.

    • @tiahnarodriguez3809
      @tiahnarodriguez3809 Год назад +3

      I’ve noticed this with most of CR og products. Their curlaide moisture butter used to be highly moisturizing and smell like vanilla frosting, but now it’s drying and smells like cinnamon. Same for the hair milk and almond jai, except the almond jai isn’t as thick as it used to be. The coconut water leave-in used to be thicc, but now it’s watered down. The fresh curl used to be moisturizing, but now it’s watered down and oily feeling.

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  Год назад +3

      So I'm definitely not alone in feeling like something is off with that hair milk. I wish I had an older bottle to compare the ingredients too. If it has changed that's seriously a bummer.

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  Год назад +5

      Thank you for sharing this Tiahna! I really appreciate how detailed your observations are. There are so many reasons a company might decide to change their ingredients (misaligning with the retailer that carries their line, ingredients no longer being available or cost of ingredients increasing) and I really hope if Camille Rose has changed their ingredients that they have done so still understanding how important quality ingredients are and that they are making plans to go back to more quality products in the long run. Camille Rose is one of the few brands left in-stores that create truly moisturizing hair products and it's important that those who are new to healthy haircare can still access quality hair brands in-stores. Also, I used to use the coconut water leave-in collection and almost forgot about it, lol. Your comment brought back memories. 😊

    I definitely want to try the Curl Origin hair butter, Oyin Hairdew, Boing and/or Shine & Define, and Melanin Twist Elongating hair butter. I also want to mention some products that I recently discovered help with dry scalp. I have had a jar of Oyin's Burnt Sugar pomade for 3 years. I decided to try it on my hair and scalp recently, and it helped alleviate my scalp psoriasis in one use. I also just discovered that the Shea Moisture 100% Coconut Oil Daily Hydration rinse out conditioner (used as a refresher/moisturizer) is awesome for alleviating dry scalp and so is Mielle Pomegranate & Honey Twisting Souffle.

    I use the Q-Redew hand held steamer & it has done wonders for my low porosity hair, especially for my back section that would frizz up all the time. The Q-Redew is way more effective for me than my old steamer that was on a pole & rolled on wheels. I think that it currently sells for approx. $100.00 on Amazon.

    Great review by product category. Thank you. My biggest issue for my 3B low porosity hair is either crunchy results or greasy to the point where smudges might be left on a headrest, etc. Neither situation is acceptable. Recent product experiences: Mielle in the hot pink bottles smells great (a little strong) but the curl cream left my hair stiff and a little tacky. Same with the It's a 10 Coily Product Line. Also, bottles are ridiculously small. Curl Keeper Styling Cream and Original also left me crunchy. Looks like Curl Origin might be a good next try. I will use your links & will stay tuned for your next video.

I went old school threw all those products away, I bought queen Helene cholesterol, bb oil moisturizer lotion, Africa’s best mayonnaise and blue magic. Also spritzing the hair with distilled water assisted in my dryness and if you don’t want to go out with a wet head-then don’t m-blow dry it for 15 minutes and protective style your hair just like mothers who knew how to do natural hair would do for their daughters. 😊

    Okay I just thought of another question. Do you have any COMBOS that you use that work best on your fine strands? I do use gel, but usually botanical gels. Sometimes I may slip in a comb or two but for the most part I'm using natural gels. Just trying to get an idea of some of the ways we can pair all of the products that you suggested in the video. Again especially the curl origin leaving conditioner.!!! Thanks!!! 🤗🤗🤗

    • @PowerInYourCurl
      @PowerInYourCurl  Год назад +2

      That is a good question! My favorite combo right now (for fall) is the Curl Origin Hydrating Leave-In, Curl Origin Maracuja Rich Moisture Hair Milk, topped with the Melanin Haircare Twist-Elongating Styling Cream. It gives me super moisturized and defined hair for at least two weeks (wearing twists for one week and a twist-out for the next week). For a wash and go, I like the the same leave-in and hair milk and then I follow it with a mousse. My favorite mousse is the Mielle Brazilian Curly Cocktail Mousse. I don't use gels often.. they usually only give me definition for about 2 days and then my hair just gets frizzy but you can try swapping the mousse out for your favorite gel. 😊 I can do a video on how to pair products together for your different hair needs if that would be helpful.
