Perfect..my build list is almost complete…now I just need the Supra …
Lol
Remove the manifold to quickly change the filter... what in gods name is going on here. And I thought pulling off my filter directly above the alternator on my 86 300ZX was dumb, wth! At least these guys thought of this and improved the nightmare situation with this beautiful looking part!
This intercooler is the bees knees my guy Calling in when I have a Supra
Super interesting. Good one Mike!
Great content. Keep up the good work!
B58 is such a great engine.
Looks like a great product for this engine when looking for more performance, not sure it makes sense for me yet but I will have this on my watchlist going forward.
I’d like to see this with a pure 800 or 850. That’s my ideal set up and I think this would be awesome.
We added the Pure 850 onto the car a few weeks after this video. Trying to talk Mike and Nik to do another test with the Pure on it.
On my purchase list. Can’t wait to slap one on at the same time as a pure turbo 🚀
It’s a real problem with the power fade due to heat soak and man if you have the cash it’s definitely worth it to gain that consistency in performance curve with more extraneous environmental contributors.
WOW that thing is cool! The tune isn't optimized so it has power to make still! With support for MPFI and nitrous, the manifold making power is just extra. I didn't catch the IAT difference but those gains can't all be from increased density. Impressive they improved flow and density maintaining that packaging!
To make conservatively ~20hp/~10tq in the process of bulletproofing is fantastic - this mod would be worth the reduction in stress on the engine alone.
you know price on this thing is $4300 right? I mean its worth it if you need it, if you're actually being limited by the factory part. but thats a hefty price tag for just 20hp and a little stress reduction...
Right. This intercooler will give you much more overhead in heat management and flow. Much more safety margin for tuning
@@boblast5582 A cheaper version that is cast is coming soon.
@@boblast5582 It actually opens up a lot more features such as included port injection and ability to control cylinder spray if running nitrous / meth. You're getting a lot of features included with this manifold that make it a great value when comparing all of the different features bundled together.
@@CSFracing yeah, absolutely. Thats why I said if you actually need something like this or if the oem intake mani is limiting you, this is a great part. but if you wanna get this just for the 20hp gain a little less stress on the engine, not really worth the price for that...
I would like to see one designed for the 1st gen B58 as in the F series BMWs
Man I had no idea the new Supra's cooling system was so interesting. I just assumed it had some air to air front mount. This aluminum piece is beautiful!
Curious about the specific back pressure of this manifold vs stock on a graduated flow chart.
Custom plenum creations in Aus doing the fucking business on the manufacture of these bad boys.
super cool & useful to the enthusiasts! wonder how's the effect on fuel efficiency?
All things being the same, probably better.
Great review, but overly conservative showing the hp/tq curves when thermally stabilized after 20-30 pulls every 30 seconds. I think that relates to track events with a lot of tight corners, not street driving. I remember shopping for intercoolers, and at Corky Bell's site, the data on those bar & plate A/L intercooler cores at high HP ratings had less than 1 psi pressure drop ! Early A/L kits were flawed by using high pressure oil coolers up front, later VW Scirroco radiators were a popular up grade.
We wanted to be conservative.
@@motoiq Understood, but who wants to know the power gain after 18-20 back to back dyno runs? Great point about the the low dp with the new bar & plate core, reducing compresser outlet temp and likely pressure ratio on stock turbo, landing on a more effcient map island.
Did they do an ABA swap though? So go back to the stock Intake Manifold and see if they got the same results as baseline (first tests)? 🤔
It’s pointless to do that.
Imagine porting the intake manifold
Does it have a bolt on lid to change the core? It looks like the lid is tigged on. That's a problem for me. If I get a core leak and I have to buy a new intake, I'm seriously pissed.
Besides that I can't stand the new BMW 500ml cylinder with the same bore and stroke for everything they make. It's just a cookie cutter engine for no horsepower and big horsepower depending on the bolt ons from the factory. It's a straight emissions design with cam timing and direct injection used to make the different power levels. Frackin i8 has a half a Supra motor.
Bore and stroke are different for s55, b58, and s58. There's actually lots of bottom and top end hardware differences between the newer platforms, so not as cookie cutter as it seems
@@scottb4104 The 55 is an older platform. The 58 is modular like all new platforms for most OEs. All small bore stuff is the main factor. Big bore, short stroke is the key to ultra high performance. Small bore is the key to ultra efficiency.
Aluminum Intake Inlet Manifold CNC? so EZ
pretty sure that oil filter thing is an everybody thing. Kinda the opposite of what Ravi said, I can only imagine race teams buying these if removing the manifold was required for an oil filter change.
EOS manifold has to be taken off for access to oil filter. It’s not an “everybody” thing.
@@desi_supra2871 any people buy that? For normal street driven Supras? So oil changes take hours? Why would anyone put up with that?
So changing the oil is going to be a nightmare.... fuck that
@@boblast5582 No idea but it’s a terrible design from EOS. I was waiting for either CSF or AMS manifold but I like the CSF one more so I bought that one. Hopefully AMS design allows for oil filter change without removing manifold which I’m sure it will.
@@desi_supra2871 next time put your oem manifold back on bro, wtf every oil change you have to deal that shit... oem is OK
Whats the latest on the cast ones? I'm sure as shit not dropping $4k on one. Thats a turbo, not an intercooler/manifold price.
Over priced for sure.
Look into Ppe icebox
everyone just get a EOS intake manifold. mikey botti and majority of all the top drag guys run EOS manifolds.
If you like removing the manifold to take the oil filter off, This manifold also has a PWR core.
200hp never looked so fast!
Should have swapped the M2 CS engine into it. IMHO. That's the real 2J successor.
Wow all those need is a lil powder coating sell them pups like hotcakes.👏👏🥰🥰🥰♥️🏁♥️🏁🦾🦾🔥🔥🔥
They are available in custom colors.
