What we realised while working on this video was that there aren't many portrayals of stay-at-home dads in cinema. Most of the dads are shown caring for their kids at home either because the partner has died (Marlin in Finding Nemo, Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle, Liam Neeson in Love Actually) or left (Will Smith in Persuit of happiness) or somehow they've been forced to (Baby left at door- Hey Baby, Big Daddy). However we did find a few like Anders Holm from The Intern, but then again he is shown cheating on his wife as she wasn't home much because of her 'busy schedule'. Even in Ki And Ka, the fact that he is a stay-at- home husband is the entire plot of the movie. Let us know who's you fav stay-at- home dad/husband or if we missed anyone.

My mom actually earns more than my dad. She's a doctor and he's a vet. My dad has always acknowledged that because he knows my mom works harder and puts in longer hours. And that's why he feels it right to help around the house chores. Im proud of both of them.

It is not only about females doing paid jobs and men having issues regarding low pay jobs compared to their spouse. I met men arranged by parents and they wanted a working women as a partner. I was impressed as i belong to an upper class society and they usually don't "allow" women to work. but then i asked a question that so that means u (male partner) r okay to do work at home? There was an instance in this vdo where a women says "Mishra khandan ki bahu kaam nhi karti, parmpara h hamari" is taken from "shadi m zaroor ana". It is a really nice movie on the same topic of a girl having an ambition and her in-laws were not ready for it and how things change. Do watch it.

My mom is a government servant and my dad works in private sector. Mom has a high salary and usually runs the house. But while making any decisions in house matters she is usually shut down by saying "we let u continue your job, Government servant hai to jyada have me mat udd" WHEN DID ANYONE ASK THEIR PERMISSION?? Like hello, this is my moms life, if she wants to continue job then its her decision. The same applies to other women too. If they want to continue their jobs after marriage then its their decision and they dont need to ask for anyone's permission. And some jealous a$$es get ashamed when their women counterparts earns more money than them coz then they "loose" their superiority. Marriage is an institution which needs effort from both sides. Both can help run the house by earning and doing household chores too. Both can divide expenses and chores, no big deal. Good dynamics/compatibility is very important.
Then encourage your mom to take divorce & find a rich husband rather than living with your obviously loser dad who can't even earn as much as his wife.
I have seen my properly working friend struggling with household and also at work...its a 2 edged sword if she does bad at work its because she is a female..and if bad at household her husband asks her to quit job..it was completely inhuman amount of work..such topics are often neglected and becomes primary reason for early end of women's career
There is a new kind of pressure emerging in society nowadays , also talk about that , I have seen many people who wanted a earning women , but but but along with earning outside they also want her to do all household chores , so working outside the house as well inside , what kind of attitude is this ? Instead every person should take his responsibility on his own , whether women or men unless they are small children or old people , , why society still wants working women to also do all household chores n to be not helped by anyone , n what's this hell word' help ', all persons should atleast try to do their work on their own , yea sometimes they can also help each other ,
_What Women should Do_ As they *by design* cannot live in minimalism.. Yeah.. Man can spend their whole day in Vest( Ganji, inner garment) avg cost ₹400/pc and Woman's bras avg cost ₹1200/pc.. Hey stupid not all women do makeup. And most of the women don't do makeup in tamilnadu. And boys spend a lot of money in bikes/car and the fuel and gadgets and shoes and many more. So keep ur data with urself
Even though the women in India are being employed and educated more than often their success overshadowed by their husbands. Like she should be on a lower rank than the man, she should earn less. Even if it is about getting opportunities, many women are denied a bigger opportunity because of longer working hours and her not being able to be the house maintainer. Like even if she works home should be the priority to her and she must choose household if the choice comes between household and work.

Fun Fact: My mum earns more than my father and my grandma earns the most money in our family even more than my grandpa😂😂😂 Edit: And the men in our family are pretty cool with it, my dad even jokes around with my mom about how she’s the boss😂😂😂
Even if family In laws agree with working of their daughter in law , they expect that the household work is still to be done by her also. Same kind of situation is being faced by my elder sister. Most of the educated ladies I see are like this. Since saying no make them bad infornt of whole family, they won't open their opinion. And some other women think this our duty🙄
product of social conditioning. If society can stop teaching “providing” is a man’s job. Like there are cultures where a man moves into woman’s place after marriage and the woman is considered the head. (Takes the responsibility of the family). Finance and stuff.. so how about we teach new generations that there are no fixed roles. Whoever is capable of doing can take on whatever role. She has more income, she can be the head. Stop with this man’s role or woman’s role. When the word is partner. Why does it matter or should it matter? Who is providing to the house financially
I mean it's so true recently in my friends relatives a couple got divorced because the husband started feeling insecure because of the idea that his wife earning more than him was destroying his manhood pride. And then my friend were discussing how it's important for women to have less income than man in a marriage to have a stable marriage, I was so pissed off by their mindset

The problem is with women mainly , women or their families never tend to get married to a man who earns less than her. Even women often compare themselves based on the amount of their husband's income.
When a man earns more, he thinks about his family, wife, children and about future But When a woman earns more she thinks she don't think about these 😂 She behaves like a queen, insult her husband and his family, and don't share her money with family. Such type of woman is present in our relative 🤣 that's why I'm saying this 🤌🏻
My mother is the only person who earns in my home. So do many women in my family and neighborhood. The men are okay with this. They respect the women too.
If they did care about men, they would have gone beyond that. Why is it that channels and groups like these never go beyond 'men can cry' or 'men need not earn'? How about lack of legal rights for men and all those laws which either don't provide protection to men, or are misused like anything?

as per my experience with men, these days they don't want to take the pressure of whole sole bread winner..they want women to earn also and work at home also.they will not marry unemployed woman. They will not take burden of an unemployed woman even with dowry because few lakhs is not sufficient to cover her life long expenses.Problem is they can't tolerate women earning more than them or equal to them but also not too less, still expects her to work as per convenience of the family needs like location of job timings of job...the family and man will never adjust to woman professional needs, desire to grow.. put short-women should earn but should stay within limits set by his father or husband.
First half of your comment was quite impressive but trust me we (generalising modern men) don't mind if wife earns more of even hell more than what we do or asks us to be the homemaker while they work to earn the bread but women or their families won't let a woman so highly qualified or makeing so much money marry someone who makes less money than she does just think if a make around 5lcks per month her family demands a groom who has a penthouse or villa and makes around 6-10 lcks per month. How did this happen. When we know patriarchal ideologies are which root cause of sexism and what it is doing is harm then aren’t people change the whole system. This is an insult to the women yet women themselves support the system. Do people even understand this is a social construct which can be changed and rebuild. I hate the culture and society that I born into. All it’s doing is penalizing for my gender. I’m a dominant person myself, I would like to lead in relationships but this society seems the opposite to me. It’s not that don’t have freedom to do with my life but don’t want to participate in an institution which stands for oppression. No. Marriage rates are going down. That’s a good thing. Would gladly see in disappear than stand on toxic. I never understand why society wants a man provide/head of the household where either is equally capable of doing it. Maybe it should be case by case situation. I personally want to be the lead, provide, protect my man, and invite him to my house. He lives under my roof. That’s who iam personally. That’s how I always imagine growing up and I realized the society I’m born into is the opposite. “Saying what is woman getting mean extra money”. Man supposed to lead. My blood boils like anything. I want to lead, I’m supposed to make more money, i supposed be the breadwinner not him, I buy the house, he is there as a partner. That’s all. WhT he is bring is what I call extra. But in the society... I’m everything what I wished for is the opposite. That’s why I hate the society that I’m born into and cultures should change over time though. I hope that happens.

@@priyampriti7906 so what are u saying. Men can blame wives for having higher salaries and women can blame husbands for lower salaries. women blaming husbands with lower income is one issue. That exactly explains why men shouldn't marry "over educated" women. Also, whenever I see a purple haired feminist explaining something, I am almost certain that it's gonna be a rant against men, And I Am Never Wrong.

"Why cant women earn more than her husband" leads to "why women dont want a men who earn less then her" And this vicious circle keeps on The point is that providing a common platform is need of humans not of only women
Go to shadhi.com and other matrimonial websites, you will find women demanding for men who earns more than them. It is not just the male ego. Generally women prefer a man who is equally or more successful than her. That's human nature. A working man doesn't have any problem marrying a women who doesn't have a job(there are exceptions) But a working women always tends to choose a working man who is successful in his career (there are exceptions).
There are reasons for that, us women we're never really taught financial independence and told that our jobs are just a 'hobby', it's really sad, even my parents are like that. They want me to work but always tell me if someone needed to sacrifice their job, I would have to do it because men won't do it (that's what they say)
It is not the woman who prefers a more successful man but it's the family. While searching for a husband, the girls' family looks for men who are financially more stable than their daughter so that the husband can " take care" of her. We often hear or see parents scolding their male child to get a job or else no one will marry him. This puts pressure on both the sides. It should completely normal for people to find a woman earning more than her husband or the husband being homeband (like housewife).
Only traditional roles are the best one because there is a saying"Old is Gold". But there are some feminine men who want to be like housewives. It is their hormonal problem not social.
The Content of video is correct but Title is misleading. Open shaadi.com or jeevansathi.com and tell me how many 1L pm earning women are willing to marry 50k or even 75k pm earning men? My problem with feminist is hypocrisy. They want equality in sharing Domestic household work but when it comes to handling financial pressure they are happy with patriarchy and Chivalry.

But here is the catch, they still do all the house chores, kid rearing alone .My colleagues rise early, made breakfast/lunch for whole family, then at 8 am left for job when she returned exhausted at evening she do the dishes, laundry and prepare dinner. And the worst part her husband has her debit card, they decide where she could use her money. His husband could buy any silly costly things for his hobbies but if her wife brought something for herself he made a huge issue that it's irresponsible.
Yes actually many girls want guys like that coz that way the husband won't become overbearing restricting other movements of the girl in the name of him being the superior bread winner. Agree, but not completely. If you look at the lower strata in big cities, there is a tendency that women is the bread winner, but still has to do all household work. The spouses in such situations are happily free loading. I think the key issue is about unequal division of responsibilities at home.

My chachi works more hours than my chachu so he does the house chore mostly because chachi comes home late so she is not able to do house chores and i like the kind of relationship they have they treat each other equally and respect decisions of one other BUT THE BIGGEST ENEMY IS my mom and other relatives WHO criticise them for bieng like this they say patani ka gulam banke betha hai admi hoke patani ko apne vash mai rakhna chahiya i am truly disgusted by what they say to that couple but i always tell them and argue that this is normal but i always get a chappal but i never stop because i know that staying quiet wont happen and also my chachu and chachi ignore these people and that is why they have a halethy relationship with less fighting arguement ek dusre ko tana marna they never do this i also want a relationship something like this in future🙂
Those toxic men can't handle when women are a bit higher than them in any field.
Hey..many girls doesn't want lower paying husband... They to be blame too....
@@priyampriti7906 so what are u saying. Men can blame wives for having higher salaries and women can blame husbands for lower salaries. women blaming husbands with lower income is one issue. And men blaming wives for higher salaries is another issue. Both are problematic. Do not dismiss off both. They both need to be changed. Countering one problem with another is not a solution.

That exactly explains why men shouldn't marry "over educated" women.
Also, whenever I see a purple haired feminist explaining something, I am almost certain that it's gonna be a rant against men, And I Am Never Wrong.
illiterate fool will obviously want to marry another illiterate
There is actually an hindi serial - Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke aise Bhi (2016-2017) which portrayed stay at home husband/dad in its 2nd season. The characters were played by Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes. The show was very popular and It's first season had ended abruptly and fans brought back the show (2nd season) in a public demand.
I didn't know why this serial was so famous now i know

A simple reason :
Most Women like to marry men who earns equal or more money than them
"Why cant women earn more than her husband" leads to "why women dont want a men who earn less then her"
And this vicious circle keeps on
The point is that providing a common platform is need of humans not of only women
Only if men became as stubborn as women, you will see how good it looks.
Oh yesss....absolutely!!!!!
There are reasons for that, us women we're never really taught financial independence and told that our jobs are just a 'hobby', it's really sad, even my parents are like that. They want me to work but always tell me if someone needed to sacrifice their job, I would have to do it because men won't do it (that's what they say)
Also you know what the state of women's education is rn, even urban houselholds don't encourage women to study a lot, let alone work
It is not the woman who prefers a more successful man but it's the family.
@@jvamsikrishna3914 yes!
Maybe I'm wrong but there are women who wouldn't settle for men who earns less than them. So you're right, the finance thing goes both ways.
Call me sexist i don't care , I'd never in my life marry a woman who earns more than me....thank u
That's some insecurity right there 👀
I want to roam in foreign countries in future and if my wife or gf doesnot earn money, it will be difficult to do it😂
thats mean though🤣🤣
Fun fact why don't you start working for the kind of life you want instead of being a leach on someone else's money be it your wife/parents etc.
@@rsharma7221 chill its a joke.... I meant to say that if we both earn, then it would be easier or else I (the man) would have more pressure financially.... My wife working would help me
@Monster of Aces do you do this when you earn some money?
@@rsharma7221 Well thwn most women in this country are leaches cause they don't earn and depend om husband. right?
My mom earns more than my dad.... And my dad is absolutely ok with it...!!
Every time I see our female workforce participation figures, it shocks me. Of course there are issues with how it is calculated, but it also makes you think. Financial independence is extremely important for empowerment, and unfortunately most women in our country don't have that independence.
There's a new phenomena now a days even in small towns and ruler part of India. In this era of unemployment families and men are preferring working( in government sector) bride's.
That's the whole mistake by your colleague who don't do proactive background check.
Ask wheter women agree to marry guys who earn lower than her??
Yes sir! I earn 3 times more than my husband . It was my choice and no regrets 😊

Yes actually many girls want guys like that coz that way the husband won't become overbearing restricting other movements of the girl in the name of him being the superior bread winner.
Also as a Girl I don't want my husband to suffer work stress and 0 enjoyment. He should not suffer for psuedo societal biased norms

Agree, but not completely. If you look at the lower strata in big cities, there is a tendency that women is the bread winner, but still has to do all household work. The spouses in such situations are happily free loading. I think the key issue is about unequal division of responsibilities at home.
