Do y'all celebrate with Easter brunch, lunch, or dinner?
Lunch after church
Brunch
All three 😀
Dinner
Easter lamb supper
When I lived in Maine I have cousins in the seafood industry and New Years Eve I always made several seafood quiches with lobster crab sea scallops for my get together and they always were a big hit and thanks to my cousins free to make. Miss those days.
If you have fresh nutmeg, you don't need mace. Mace is the outer shell of the nutmeg pod, and has the same flavor. (Although fresh nutmeg pods are very expensive, they last a very long time, and stay fresh, because you grate fresh with each use). Fresh is a world of difference as opposed to the already powdered nutmeg).
Thanks for the tip 😉
@@nataliemscrzysxycoolharris You are welcome!
Thanks, good to know
they literally last forever!!!
I love mace. It’s well worth it imo
Just thinking about how looking forward to watching you again every day got me through the beginning of Covid and I still look for you every day. May God bless you and your richly this glorious Resurrection day and always
I will give this a try Paula, the only quiche I have ever made was a spinach quiche and it was a hit. Thx.
How cute having a Easter egg hunt with the little ones! That quiche looked so amazing, a must try for my table.👍❤️
I made a spinach and sundried tomato quiche yesterday
Wow the triplets first Easter egg hunt. How exciting dear Paula. I sure hope you can possibly film a little for us. We would just love to see that. 🥰👍🤗
I made an egg and sausage quiche for dinner this evening. Your crab quiche looks delicious 🤤. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hi Mary
Hi miss Paula, a plus on this recipe, and as soon as I can afford real crab meat again I will definitely make it
This looks amazing! A must try!! Thanks for sharing this with us! Hope ya'll have a great week! God bless!
Hi Paula! Thank for sharing your Easter 🐣 crab quiche!!
Wow! That is a very generous portion of crab! Yum! Haven’t had crab in a while and what a wonderful addition to the Easter table!
Hi Francesca
I made it tonight and it was perfection! Thanks Paula
Love the videos and all the recipes ! Ms Paula looks so pretty in purple and lets not forget Eddie and Theresa the best assistants on Utube ! Can’t wait for summer recipes outside grilling ! Where are the pups ? They use to make a debut every once in a while 🐶 blessings !
My 9 year old grandson saw this episode and told me that we have to immediately go to the seafood market and get some crab because we’re making this.!! Yum. Yum.
This Crab Quiche recipe looks so delicious Paula.
Thank you for this wonderful recipe! I loooove quiche and the crab is a great bonus💕enjoy
I used to make crab quiche when Dungeness crabs come into season on the West Coast. But your recipe is better than mine!
Thank you for sharing this recipes. It looks great, and such cute blue glasses they look great on you!
Made this for dinner tonight and loved it!!!
Love crab looks Delicious 👍🦀🦀
Hi Cheryl
Looks good!!! Was hoping we would get to see Michael taste-test....🥰
Yummy! Haven't ever had this. I have some beautifully orange meyer lemon. i'd like to add to this recipe.
I've used the zest in everything I put the juice in. Made a fresh pico w/ mango and tomato & the zest and juice. It was to die for.
Going to have to try them w/ crab or some other seafood.
I'm not much of a Quiche eater, but I would definitely give this a try. Looking Great Paula!!
That looks amazing! Some of those spices are very expensive, I always go for the substitute. Happy Easter Paula and family. ❤️
Ooooo, that quiche is the bomb!! Quiche is one of my favorite foods ever. Sooo much crab meat... I love it! Those beautiful grand babies sure are getting big. So cute. Have we seen Davis, yet?
Spice prices at the stores are all going up. I try to buy in bulk on line, so much cheaper, especially for stuff you use a lot. This dish looks delicious. 😊
Hi Paula!!! Great glasses! And I love the colour of your blouse so much! You look great!!!
What an inspiration for me.
Thanks for the easter receipes.
Happy Easter for you and your family 🐰🐤🐇🌷🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Looks so yummy. Cant wait to try it. Happy Easter with the grands
Hi Paula We love crab thats what we did for fun when I was a kid. I heard You mention Everybody Loves Raymond. I watch Him every night after I watch Your show😍
Hi Linda
I've been watching it to here lately, love that show! 😍
how cute the little ones having Easter Hunt, not a bad idea putting a piece of fruit. sure does look tasteful good day all
You can tell Paula would love to give those little tots huge amounts of candy and treats (and then send them back to the restrictions with Mamacita!)
You see that too huh? Lol
@@wakelon72 ohhhhh yessss! 😈
That Quiche Looks Amazing, YUM:) Happy Easter Paula
My mouth watering
Those poor kids! They must have been wondering what the point of hunting for empty eggs was lol.
Yes, I'll bet Paula would have loved to fill them with candy, but she's under the watchful eye of the mother...🤨
@@stacey5925 I'd put a coin or two in each egg.
I was thinking the very same thing!!! 😮
When I was a kid (many decades ago), during the Easter egg hunt the plastic eggs were special because they contained money.💰💰💰
LOL, I thought the same thing and why not put a small toy ( probably not allowed) or just 1 jelly bean. I've had sugar free jelly beans from Jackie's Chocolate and they were pretty good!
Wouldn’t it be easier to mix the crab with the egg mixture before adding it to the crust
Yeah I think if I make this, which I just might, thats what I'll do. :)
Thanks for the tip. I think she said something about not wanting to break the crab up even more
Poor babies! Give them candy on the holidays at least. They aren't little for very long 😉. God bless
Tell that to "Cloud-ia"
I'm all for respecting a mother's wishes, but for the holidays it would be a nice treat for sure to let the kids have some candy. I like Claudia, I think she is a good mom, to each their own. We mom's are all trying to do what's best by our kids. ❤️
agreed
I LOVE quiche but for some reason had never thought to put crab meat in it!!!!! I will now though.
Hi Sharon
Looks delicious 😋
Love you cooking Paula every day
Love purple and your quench looks delicious love and best dishes Paula and Eddie and Theresa 🐣💯💜💯
Don't worry about dropping some crab or cheese on the floor-just let the puppies in to vacuum it up! A nice treat for them!
Looks and sounds delicious!
Your hair looks so cute in a ponytail!! Beautiful lady, Miss Paula.
Omg that looks phenomenal! I cannot wait to try this recipe! I love you Paula!
I love just about anything with crab meat in it!!
Charity, me too I guess we both are the same lol, if I may ask how are you doing?
Oh my goodness that was my favorite episode when she kept saying "Just so you know Rayyyyy" LOL
I would have gently folded the crab into the egg and then filled the pie crust.
Me to.
I really think that's what she intended to do. She mentioned earlier, to be careful when mixing the crab not to mix to much. But hey, budda bing, budda boo. It worked fine.
Me three.
@@stephenhorton4098 Yes, that's why I said gently fold in. Less chance of dropping crab on the floor too. It did look nice, but I'll bet it tasted even better.
@@stacey5925 Yes for sure. I bet it was delicious. With coffee as well.
Good Morning, I love your purple blouse!
Paula we put little toys, money, we use giant eggs with stuffed animals, you can do so much with eggs. My granddaughter gets very little candy and she won’t even eat hardly any.
Hi Paula I have been a fan for years I think you look amazing and your food looks great
Love your recipes. But if I was going to make this recipe from store bought things, this would cost approximately 40 $
The beginning of this video made me sad! I am all for teaching kids healthy eating habits but Easter and chocolate are a part of childhood so they could have had a little treat! Empty eggs? Just mean! The quiche looks so yummy!
Hello 👋 Tracey, how are you doing?
Hope you don't mind if I subscribe to your RUclips channel?
I agree
Would love to know what kind of knives Paula uses a good set for cutting up vegetables and meats?
I don't know what Paula uses, but Zwilling JA Henckels makes excellent quality knives, any size, any type. They are on the expensive side, but you only need to buy once.....and you get what you pay for. I've had mine over 30 years, and still going strong.
❤
Is crab quiche something that could be served cold from the fridge? Or is it something that needs to be warm?
I love you Paula!
Good morning
Hi Wendy
My in-laws would put spare change in my kids’ Easter eggs.
I love crab quiche but we live in the center of the US is there anything else we can use.
A pound of lump meat crab was $60 at the store the other day.
I think 1/2 a pound would be sufficient. way too much meat.
@@asweetnspicyginger2443 Less than that. I think 1/3 or even 1/4 lb will do.
1LB with only 3 eggs.....way too much crab for a dish that doesn't look deepdish
@@sherryrethwisch9589 Theresa swears it was deep dish, but it sure didn't look like it to me.....unless they are changing the size of those too. Everything is getting smaller in size, weight, etc., But the price isn't smaller!!!! Paying more for less, .....more or less 🤭
The recipe does not even call for deep dish crust
Can't handle it!
my family used to put money in the easter eggs for the hunt!
Oh I bet that hurt your heart a little with the empty eggs/no candy rule! Next time they come see Ginny give them eggs with stickers inside, or maybe hair bows, ribbons, hotwheels, or some other small toy. Dollar tree has these new toys that expand when you add water, those might be fun. Of course u could always tuck a dollar bill inside for the piggy bank. I am a peds nurse in home. Always having to think outside the box, or the egg! 😘
Freeze your spices in their containers, and you will extend their life.
Yes, and refrigerate hot pepper flakes and cayenne. They tend to get very small, little worm-like bugs when in warm or humid condition for extended periods of time.
We put coins in the plastic eggs at Easter time for the children to hunt. Pennies and such.
Can you use canned crab?
Was better than the easter bunny cake which "flopped' for me LOL
I Sherry
Did I miss something she said she is not going to beat the crab meat in the bowl, she will gently fold it, but she is putting the crab meat in the pie shell IDK
I know you had a great time having that egg hunt for the triplets. You are right, very sad they couldn't have had a little candy in the eggs, which is part of the surprise for children. However we know that is out of your hands unfortunately.
I would put money and little toys and some candy and a golden egg with $20 this was when they were older
Let them be little
Couldn't you freeze it miss Paula if yall not gonna eat it right now.
Any type of frozen quiche is always on the runny side when thawed, whether you freeze it baked or unbaked -- especially. Crabmeat is full of water, so I think you'd be very unhappy with an expensive, watery quiche. Texture changes too.
@@stacey5925 oh. I got you. Thanks. Never thought of that.
One would think that after mixing the liquids together, you would have mixed the onions, etc., and the crab, into the liquid and THEN pour it into the pan. It was predictable that the liquid would overflow and wouldn't completely seep through all of the stuff you had already put in the pie pan. You needed a larger pie pan, or less crab, too.
Nice top 🙂😊
Damn you got oldddd
This lady is a multi millionaire and she’s worried about 10$. Now that makes me sick!! Can’t stand that fake fraud crap! But yet she will spend 300K on plants and her yard. GIRL!!!!
That’s how she’s wealthy! Being frugal
And she's just pointing out how much it costs and like kinda warning people. Giving us a heads up.
Although crab is very expensive, maybe cutting the amount, or using half crab and half shrimp...but I'd never ever use that imitation crab meat. That product is horrible, made of minced white fish (who knows what type) and lots of fillers and starch to hold it all together.
I tried a very disappointing recipe last night. 😕 It was a blueberry cake you make in a spring form pan, it was not good for soo many reasons. Glad I didnt plan on it being dessert for Easter. Im going to make Paulas Not you mommas Nana pudding. Cant go wrong with that one!!
@@charitys.3862 Gee. Curious to know what happened? I'm not a fan at all of bananas, even the smell of them! Lol, my Mom was the same way....or maybe I'm the same as my Mom was?🤔
@@stacey5925 It was blueberry lemon cake. As I had it in the oven Im reading the reviews, and pretty much everything that people said was wrong with it happened. It was overcooked and I did follow the instructions, I should've checked it earlier, 🙃 lesson learned there, it wasn't sweet at all, it didnt have enough lemon. I m thinking I can save it with a little glaze or maybe cream cheese frosting. Cause I sure hate to waste! Im not a huge fan of bananas or banana pudding. But I fell in love with the version she makes, because it has cream cheese, yum, sweetened condensed milk, yum, and the chesseman cookies instead of nilla wafers, I've never cared for those bland little cookies. You could not even put that much bananas in it, to be honest you forget its even "banana" pudding. Lol. Of course its very rich, I only make it once or twice a year, special occasions.
@@charitys.3862 Doesn't sound like it was a flop.... I'm sure a glaze or icing of any kind will sweeten it up, and with a little ice cream, or whipped cream on the side, I'm sure it wouldn't taste dry. Don't throw it out! More lemon? Use zest, juice, and even some extract, next time.
You could also cube it up, serve in glasses and spoon some vanilla or lemon pudding on so it runs down through, top with whipped cream....fancy, smancy, and nobody knows it didn't turn out as expected!!!
@@stacey5925 oh no I wont throw it out. WOW, I believe you could make anything good!! I will buy some lemon extract, save buying so many expensive lemons. Yeah I did use the zest, but it really needed 2 lemons 🍋 instead of one. Great suggestions though! Thank you 😊
Mace??!?? The only "mace" I'm aware of is the kind you spray in an attacker's face. Is that the same mace?🤔
Its the shell of a nutmeg.
Not sure about this one 😂
Its delicious..
@@stephenhorton4098 Its expensive
@@tobehonest7541 Yes. But we catch our own crabs here. Even have our own bayleaf trees on the property. Truly blessed for sure.
@@stephenhorton4098 yes you are definitely blessed!! Yummy
@@stephenhorton4098 is blessed code for "rich" 🤣
funny how Christians sugarcoat things ...I'm blessed on this Lord's day, thank you very much
I'm just not wealthy ...something to do with man-made inequality
