I don't really comment on videos but this was such a beautiful and awesome tour you guys have created! I loved how you guys showed so much of campus and talked about specific things special to Vandy that I had no idea about. You guys also seem like very friendly and fun people to be around and it was honestly one of the best college tour videos I've ever seen. Great job!!!
I was accepted ED1 to Vandy and have already visited campus but this was a great commentary on why Vanderbilt is great! Can't wait to be there in the fall.
wait omg this is insane, I emailed you through the vandie website thing a few months ago and michael barry was my tour guide when I visited in September, now it's December and I was scrolling through youtube and this video showed up. I recognized both of you and got so confused for a moment. Quite a fun coincidence. Hearing back from vanderbilt for ED in 4 days, hopium levels are rising
hey there miles,i would like to presume my studies in computers in Vanderbilt university(after two years)...I am from India and can u navigate me to get admission..pls
Is there any way to pick your roommate or do they have to be randomly assigned? I have a friend who is also coming to vandy next year and I want to know if I could room with him
unfortunately they're not letting you pick your roommates next year :( you'll fill out a pretty extensive living survey and then get matched with someone that way
Is grade deflation common within the college of engineering? I'm trying to decide if Vandy is worth full tuition 😬 and despite loving the school, I think I'll eventually have to learn to let go ☹️. Super elated I was admitted though :)
grade deflation is definitely common in intro "weed out" type courses: gen chem, calc 1 and 2, etc... but from what I understand, it gets a lot better in the upper level classes. I know a ton of engineers who struggled through those classes but ended up doing well in the higher level courses! I'm just speaking from my friends' experiences so engineers - correct me if i'm wrong.
Hi Alice! I'm a senior civil engineer at Vandy. As Miles said, the first few large classes you take (gen chem, calc) are definitely difficult, but I personally saw very little grade deflation (but the tests were very hard). However, once you get past the first 4-5 classes, this drastically changes (especially in certain engineering majors, like civil). My second semester freshman year I had a teacher tell my class of 35 that if anyone got below 85% on the test, she would blame herself for not teaching the course well enough! I hope that helps, and feel free to ask me any other questions! I can also direct you to other engineering majors if you have major-specific questions.
@@phoebefowler7289 oh thank you for the reply! I was earlier wondering about grade deflation because I was considering premed, but if I come to Vanderbilt I'd probably give up that route just because it wouldn't really make sense to be a full-pay premed at Vandy (still super undecided if I want to be a premed or not lol). I actually do have some questions! 1. How common is double majoring with the college of engineering? Is it something where it's not too common? I still would like to do something med-related so I might do a double major of CS with bioengineering / biology. If I go the CS + bioengineering route, is this honestly too ambitious? 2. I heard that the average GPA within the college of engineering was like a 2.7. Truth to that? I know Vanderbilt isn't a walk in the park, but wow 2.7 is a bit intimidating lol.

How’s the grade deflation/inflation in the History/Political Science departments at Vanderbilt?
definitely not bad!! haven't taken any history classes but I've had good experiences with poli sci

I love this AND YOU
I was hopeful that in a couple years I could go to vandy, and then I saw their acceptance rate...
That means you’ve seen that the acceptance rate is not 0% and that you can go there if you really want to.
Amazing🌹
Cuties!
