Why you're better off not visiting Vanderbilt University | Pros and cons

- Hey everyone! Long time no see, hehehe. In this video, I went around asking Vanderbilt students to tell me their likes and dislikes about the school. I think the insight of current students is especially helpful to prospective students because it gives you a real sense of life within the school. The views and opinions expressed are solely tied to those who participated in the video and do not represent the total scope of Vanderbilt University or its positions. Once again, these are just opinions, please don't sue me Vandy. I apologize in advance for the sound quality, it's a lot of background noise and added interference by my voice.

Wow, I know this video is mostly cons but seeing so many students of colour really gave me some confidence about coming to Vandy next fall.

98 alum here - it's like this is a completely different school. I don't recognize the places or majors, and we always said one of the BEST things was the food.

People need to get out of their comfort zones & include themselves. It’s on you to be involved or reach out to others. What better place to learn to do that except college where you should be open to all kinds of ppl, even those you superficially think might be different than you. Learn from those who are different. That’s how you grow. Btw, college food, dorms and administration complaints have been around since the first colleges were established. It’s nothing new. It’s one of those things you laugh about later.
Thank you for this video. My son is white and upper middle class but his public high school is 76% students of color and a title 1 school. He loves his school and his friends are all so different from him and even from one another! The administration is extremely supportive of all of the students. In looking for colleges for him, we rule out any that are more than 50% white or mostly high income families. Vandy mostly fits!! But whether students of different races and backgrounds truly socially interact and if the school is strongly in support of everyone is hard to determine in ranking books or online searches!

Vanderbilt is such a great place. Sad to hear so many cons. I love it here but thanks for sharing. I do think your questions were very targeted to be cons though which might be something to reconsider next time

This is literally one of the best videos I've seen about Vandy now that I'm coming this fall. I do hope that I'll not get marginalized as an Asian though.
