    Man! So glad I did this 15 years ago when they were cheap! ($50-$100 each) Still have them. No way I am paying the prices they are going for today.

    I'm so mixed about this. The practice of buying and selling the Amiga computers and parts like this has helped fuel the sky-high prices now and made it very difficult for old and new user to get in the game. However, it's super hard to argue with good-old capitalism. Love and respect the hustle, but wish it was not with the Amigas.

      Low prices mean they are being destroyed by recyclers because nobody cares about them. You want the computers you care about to be worth as much as possible because only then do they get saved and preserved. When it’s $5 at a garage sale, it’s only one step away from the trash, and that’s not good.

      ABSOLUTELY! THIS is the stupid way of pushing prices up for poor profit! This stuff is ment for AMIGA enthusiasts and not for STUPID MONEY MAKERS!!!!

    It has often worked out better for me if the seller accidentally sends the wrong computer/console. A few times they have sent the correct one after I tell them and not asked for more money or a return.

    I noticed you didn’t get any PC bridge boards in any of them. Amazing that so many had the mega chip ram expansion.

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  4 месяца назад +1

      Actually I just did get one! Need to test it though. Yeah megachip surprisingly common. It’s convenient in that it gives you ram expansion with it

      @HansCampbell 3 месяца назад +2

      Actually, no it is not amazing. One megabyte of chip ram is required for the Video Toaster. This is the main reason why many Amiga 2000 computers have a MegaChip installed. 🤔

    Nice!!!
    Another 2000 fan boy here. Still have my original I bought back when they came out. Ive amassed a collection of 6 so far and three spare motherboards. Ive always planned to do what you do just havent gotten around to it yet. Ive cleaned them all up, removed batteries and mitigated all the corrosion as best as I can. Just bought one recently that still had the battery installed but very little leakage!!!
    I bought a 2000 last year that was branded "Video Toaster". It did come with the toaster card but no software. I'll eventually find the software.

    "it's from 1987! This is not even a reprint" and the next paragraph says "fifth slightly edited printing, 1990"

    Subbed! You had me at "best Amiga" - I agree, the 2000 is lovely! You picked up some great deals there with the various cards fitted!

    I have an Amiga 2000 set with magazines (Jessica Rabbit is on the front of one) , Rampage, Disney Animation, Magic Johnsons Basketball, Shinobi, Shogun, S Base 4, Pro Write, Wings of Fury, etc.. plus pictures. A lot of the games are still in the boxes. Plus I got the rubbery joystick. I'm thinking about selling it.

    Great video! That was really interesting! I would love to have an Amiga for the games. The Amiga 500 mini is out, and supposedly there’s a full-size version coming out this year.

      Thank you, I appreciate it! Haven’t looked into the newer ones…they are a good option if you aren’t into collecting

    I happened to see this video tonight, thought the Toaster Card and TBC looked familiar. Well, that’s because I bought them from you - just checked my eBay history. 😂 👍

      Hah! That's funny! Yeah sometimes I collect footage over a long stretch before I finally do the video

    Nice work. Do your costs include the resale fees? I wonder how much percentage they take.

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  4 месяца назад

      Thanks! I deduct seller fees shipping etc from the sale price, so prices in green have all fees deducted. I should probably have mentioned that. So actual sale prices are higher.

    Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Amiga 2000 and the Amiga 2000 HD?

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  Месяц назад

      HD version is just a 2000 with a scsi controller card and HD installed. I think it was 40 or 80mb. Nothing different about the computer, just expanded, and with HD badge on front

    Amiga 3000 is the best imho … 4000 better specs, but for overall design, the 3000 was peak Amiga

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  3 месяца назад

      I kind of agree, but it also never caught on to the degree that the others did, and the add-ons for it didn't vary quite as widely

    since you've found the middleman sweetspot - the A2000 market- it has become impossible to find any A2000 in a reasonable state for less than $500. Meaning you're gobbling them up and reselling - to Us! which stinks, as I can no longer afford the elevated prices of middleman economics. There aren't any on amibay either. The A2K market is dead for me, and don't get me started on A4000s😣

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  11 дней назад

      Don't blame me! I've found many since I made this video, so if you haven't found any, you're either doing it wrong or not looking hard enough. Why not build relationships with some recyclers and save Amigas from being scrapped? People don't understand that salvaging electronics and saving machines involves actual WORK and relationship building

    Interesting video! I see that you ar very knowledgeable on Amigas and their various expansion cards and upgrades. Cool and fun way to make a profit. I guess what I'm curious of is what cool Amiga system do you own that you have upgraded and love and do NOT want to sell? That sounds like it would be a cool machine.

    • @RDKLInc
      @RDKLInc  2 месяца назад

      Thanks! I mean, I have all of them. I'm not particularly interested in upgrades...the main upgrade I do is add a gotek so that i can load software off SD card.
