God do I miss the days of live music like this in tiny places with no fucking phones. And I miss my 30 years. CAn I have them back, please? It's not in the cafe though, I think. Hmm, did the "cafe" even exist in '88? OH, I"m thinking of the "bakery"

Reconhecimento??
Only had the privilege of seeing MH twice (I’m in Oztralia). The biggest takeaway is ye gotta see ‘em live. They are consummate musicians who’ve been honing their unique craft for a long time and it has to be experienced live. Long live the Honey!
I have the privilege of having a really cool uncle and mom who bought 3 tickets for a show of theirs next year. I'll see what you're on, and i'm excited for it.
How the fuck are the audience just sitting there? I saw Mudhoney in a slightly bigger club in Edinburgh in 1989 and it's possibly the best gig I have ever been too - must have lost gallons in sweat lol
Oh memories!! Yeah got to see them in O-town ‘90 in Barabarella’s! Omfg we tore the place down.... I literally just discovered mudhoney , nirvana , soundgarden , Alice, when looking in the college paper what did my wondering eyes get to see, 4 mud honeys about to play a show for me!!
there were maybe 20 people at this. my brother and i told everybody to go to the bunratty's show the next night (Halloween) , there were 3 people at that gig, wmbr dj conrad and the 2 of us, they played their asses off anyway. mark arm wore a pretty dress.
Was it defo the 30th and not the 31st (as on setlist fm)? Also can anyone make out the name of the gay bar he mentions after Sweet Young Thing (26:20) and anymore info on that show?
October 30, 1988 was a Sunday according to the calendar. And this was an "afternoon show", which the Middle East only did on Sundays. It's possible they played again at the Middle East on the 31st, but I have no way to find out. Bunratty's was another club, on Harvard Ave. in Allston (part of Boston). There are other shows on this channel (not too many, but a few) that were video'ed there. Sounds like Mark is announcing that they're playing at Bunratty's the same day as this show.
@@stormburinen3767 And with lack of ' sure didn't made it easier. Anyway I expected some kind of quality from Mudhoney, since people talk like them being the "favorites" to go mayor leagues. No taste from N nor M.
The grungiest of the grungy.
Best band out of the Seattle scene
Before Nirvana, PJ and others, real grunge was represented by Melvins, Green river (mudhoney) and Soundgarden

This band doesnt get enough recognition
Was always surprised they didn't get as popular as Nirvana did. Saw Mudhoney twice in Chapel Hill ,NC ,at Cat's Cradle. Awesome shows.
They suck that's why
Neither does Green River or Mother Love Bone

I like how all their guitars are baby blue in color.
Never knew they played the middle east. Cambridge had the best clubs back in the day, got to see CoC at TT's good times
