There is a lack of build diversity because they’ve nerfed too many sets. They are way too many useless sets and they keep nerfing more beyond usefulness. They recently nerfed storm master out of pvp. Once again removing damage from pvp as usual. This is a real problem. All pvp damage sets get gutted by the devs, hence the lack of build diversity.
Lol. The lack of build diversity isn't the reason u mentioned. The actual reason is because people aren't creative enough to make something themselves. Also most people on this game are just meta chasers just use whatever is meta.

You can barely survive outside a few sets, etc. Sets like Storm Master, Caluarions, Thunder Caller, Infallible mage, are examples of good damage sets that added to other play styles. They were all nerfed to hell. Killing play styles… this is my point.
I'm looking forward to DK Healing this patch! Going to be real nice with that class set! Lol! Do you think Class Sets should have any drawbacks on them? I always figured that'd be a characteristic only available to Mythics.
I agree to an extent, id lile to see ability augmentation like lets say nb class set makes surprise attack deal disease dmg instead of physical and applies minor defile instead of minor pen. Just an example tho. Imagine if jabs was 360 degrees lol
I'm running Soulcleaver with War Maiden on my Magblade and its sooo strong, i 1shot most people with -concealed weapon + Sap Essence & Soul tether. if they survive their almost always low enough to be killed by a impale or swallow soul.. i think it gives magbombers and mageblades a diffrent playstyle which is very needed if u ask me
I'm looking for a good build with soulcleaver. War maiden is the way to go ? I was thinking about Forest Wraith to maximize critical chance... Or rallying cry maybe ?
I just hope the future sets released in the Endless Archive will buff the classes that really needs it, feels odd that some of them are so mediocre and the best one is for the class that is on top in PvP lol
I’ve been using the NB’s soulreaver with forest wraith, a one piece increase in pen., and ring of Markyn. It works surprisingly well, especially the siphoning ultimate. 20k base explosion, 2.5k/sec. health summoning. Pairs well with power extraction as an execute Edit: I play high MMR in BG, and I’m always leading with most points. I’m deff not good against tanks, but I avoid them. My NB is top tier

You mentioned soul tether when discussing nb set, it says non ultimates are buffed so really the only benefit would be swallow soul and sap essence, potentially debilitate/cripple. Edit: nvm i see your comment they changed it to affect all siphoning abilities and removed the drain

They made class sets and only tweaked 2 sets, Necro set was trash before changed, DK was massively broken before and literally has zero downsides, even removing minor heroism just from the one bar buff doesn't change much since there is literally zero downsides for the set while everyone is just mediocre to completely useless on both pve and pvp.

Zenimax needs to roll back the hybrid stuff. When they did that it ruined class ID and the fun of theory crafting. It’s funny how there was more build variety back in 2015 then there is now. The game was laggy but was 100x more balanced back in dark brotherhood and thieves guild.
We all know devs love dragonknights and nightblades so nothing new here. Just seeing the sorc set made me uninstall the game for the 5th time lol. Better luck next patch.

DK set is overrated. Drakes rush gives major heroism to the whole team and can be back barred. Also having to hit an earthenheart skill ever 10 seconds is overcasting. None of them are S tier especially not a DK set with different buffs on different bars and only lasts 10 seconds. Talking that he best DK on Xbox he said this would most likely be on his front bar to use it but he still won’t run it.
Between shattering rocks and cinder storm I personally don't see the issue in casting an earthen heart skill frequently. When building groups then of course having support sets giving healing, ultgen etc is better, there you are correct.

Naw you're wrong on the dk set it's trash. Coagulated is the best heal in the game for a fighter class and even with oaken on I have no need for extra ult regen cause it's so fast already. That dk set is garbage.

I think that this could help simplify balancing since buffing a set will only buff the one class
