    After 40 years in France I understood everything. I’m still obviously English once I open my mouth.

      French has to be among the most difficult languages to learn. You spend an eternity learning the grammar and vocabulary and then you realize they all use idioms and slang in actual conversation.

    On the first listen I was only able to pick up that someone needed help with something involving the kitchen and the garage. Once the subtitles came on I knew everything except that he was moving.

    This was such a good exercise, first listen I heard nothing, with subtitles I figured out the subject and could gather key information, by the last listen I could hear the key phrases and subjects popping out at me, so good for training your ear to hear French. Thank youuuu!

    Good to point out, that it's : 'on commence PAR..' whereas people might automatically go for : 'on commence AVEC...'

    It feels very rewarding being able to listen through that and actually understand what they're saying in normal speed without subtitles 😂 less than 2 years, although my speaking is slightly below my comprehension skills 🫠

    Ok. I got it all first time. Cool. You thought that was hard? I watch Hugo décrépit chaque jour. C'est tout. Par fois je répète les verbs. I'm never going to learn the spelling. But I cant be perfect in English either. Español es fonético. Merci.

    I can understand these conversations or at least I can understand what's the topic of dialogues and that makes me happy because BUT if someone ask me these kind of questions, it is so difficult for me to answer them. What should I do to improve my speaking skills??

    une suggestion pour cette video, pas sans justement, la bouche parle les mots apres le recording premiere. cette aider en articulation.
    a suggestion for this video, we could see a video of a mouth, precisely following the recording of the audio to help with articulation of words

      Yes you're right it's put. Mettre = put in this context. We say also "mettre la table" which means "set the table"

    I find it all comes with pictures. A little girl in a movie moves in a neighborhood and ends up sneaking in to the old man's car and goes butterfly catching. It's like a calandar, she says about the breath taking views.

    I understood pretty much everything, but it's always worth breaking it down for a closer look. Folks Alexa actually wants to teach people how to speak and understand French. Not keep people down and taking money for drip-feeding nonsense about how to buy bread. Or memorise lists of slang phrases. It's a rare thing.

    Je crois que vous faites un error madame. Pour les gens capables de comprendre un niveau c1 conversation, il ne veulent pas écouter des explications en anglais. Dans ce cas là, vous devenez expliquer cette conversation en français. Pour le c1 et même le B2 les chaînes RUclips comme “ Français Authentique et français avec Nelly …. ” parlent toujours en français

      I think you are being harsh - I thought it was easy but I've been learning French on and off for a while. As many viewers are not following courses or exams, a verbal degree of difficulty helps. For most the reassurance of expected difficulty is important, and for some might demoralise while boost others.
