They are so beautiful Becca!! I love the mint green one!! Also, I look forward to watching your videos every morning as I drink my coffee. You are spoiling us! hahah
Oh, I wish I could get a big chunk of coco coir like that. My nurseries and HD here don't carry it. Spaghnum is amazing - I know you like water prop but spag is great for propagating aroids. Some people even grow their plants in it solely. I use it for ziplock bag propagation. Enjoy the journey! It is so fun learning and experimenting with plants. I also highly recommend Plant's Meow videos for Anthuriums. She has an extensive Anthurium collection and knows so much about their care. 👍🏼😁
Hey, great video! Just an FYI with the clarinervium, you may not want to put it in terracotta because as it grows the roots will adhere to the terracotta and eventually when you want to repot it you'll probably have to smash the pot to get the plant out.
Nice follow-up video! Very cosy as always :) I love coco coir - guaranteed free of fungus gnats and good water retention. Not sure if you intentionally got this huge block of coco coir, but you can also get much smaller amounts in brick or tile shape which are easier to handle as you just need to pour a certain amount of water given in the instructions over it and it expands to a multiple in a few minutes. You can get the tiles, which are less than a square foot big and around an inch thick, at IKEA (at least in Europe) under the name of ODLA. You can even divide them with a bread knife (cut the surface and break) before letting them soak, in order to get just the amount you need at that moment.
I wanted to grab the items locally to cut down on amazon waste - been feeling overwhelmed with boxes lately! haha and this is the only size I could find locally. Admittedly, it is WAY too much. It'll take a very long time to chop down on this block 😂😂
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Good point and I can totally relate! The IKEA tiles are indeed wrapped in plastic bags individually, which does mean extra waste. They are used to swell the coir and I try to reuse them for storage of soil mixes.
So we can make a potting mix with very little soil? I was under the impression that the soil was where the nutrients were (I was wrong obviously). If we put very little soil, do we need to fertilize more often? Thanks for your videos, they are so fun to watch - love your personality!
Yes that's correct! I'm assuming that I will need to fertilize more often, yes. I am still learning and will definitely update you as I find things out 😅 lol!!
😍 😍😍 I want so many more anthuriums like yours but I have a crystallinum that hasn’t done anything in 2 months. I’m trying to make myself wait to buy more until spring or at least until my crystallinum is happier. (Currently under a glass dome with 75% humidity and on a shelf near south facing windows 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️)
I think the one you believed to be a crystallinum may be a dorayaki? I’ve never seen one in real life so I probably shouldn’t be IDing, but I did do a lot of anthurium video watching before placing my GreenSpaces order lol
Thanks for the Leo fix! Those are such beautiful plants. Please follow up for us. It’s getting way to cold in Ohio to order anything like them. 🥶❄️❄️❄️
It looked like some soil was coming out the bottom of the terracotta pot. I found some plastic window screen material in my garage and have been cutting it into tiny squares to cover the drain holes in my pots. Keeps the soil in but let's water drain. Just a tip.
Hi Becky, nicly repotted! They look great after repotting. How are they doing now? Have they dropped any more leaf? I got a question did you put your plantsin jar od water for two weeksafter arrival to repot them?
Love these plants you got but that crystallinum is definitely my fav 😍 And I'm sooooo tempted to order from Greenspaces but atm I'm broke and it's winter here in Sweden which makes me worried they wont make it here alive 🙈 Looking forward to spring so I can buy all the plants 😂
I love using the coir. I have always bought in bricks which I can just throw in warm water in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket then I use it with other stuff depending on what I am potting. Get a saw and cut some of it off a little at a time. That block looks so difficult to use! I stole my anthurium mix from Cat's meow too! I can tell you that his roots are growing like crazy! I hope it works out. Mine was just the crown and some small roots I got off clearance rack from a store that was closing. I don't even know what it is. Just marked anthruium. Owner said it started with a C. Hopefully I find out one day.
A saw would have been very helpful in this situation.. clearly I was not prepared for how big the block was 😂 I'll put a link specifically for my storefront in the bio! I never thought to do that for some reason. I have links to all the individual items in the storefront listed one by one. but I'll add the whole store link too 😉 www.amazon.com/shop/delaplants
That is the sphagnum moss that I always use and love ! It blew my mind the first time I put it in water as well 😆 Your anthuriums are beautiful, I haven’t gotten any in my collection yet but can’t wait to get my first ones and I’ll definitely turn to this video for their soil💚🌱
Great video Becca, I don't have any Anthurium's yet, I guess I'm too scared to attempt growing them especially for where I live, it is so cold in the winter for a good chunk of the year, maybe when I have my new set up that I'm hoping to get this next year I will have the space to experiment with one or two. I love repotting videos they are so relaxing and fun to watch, love the clear pots and the soil mixture is great. Thanks for sharing and Leo is just the cutest and I always love seeing him. Love you sweet girl and I will see you soon, bye for now.
Hi becca, when do you have married and have you a new House, you have so much more 🌿🌵beautiful plants like bevor,i think, and a tiny little Dog 🐕sooo sweety, and lives your cat from the other videos, many wishes from germany and have a good wintertime, in germany yesterday we have the first snow 🤗thanks for your freshly videos netti
therr are two of these plants in my office which were burning in the sun and sooo root bound, and both of them were putting out flower in that bad condition..i took pity on them and brought it home announcing to everyone that i am gonna bring them to the plant hospital cuz they are really2 sick...so here i am searching on utube how to save these sad plamts.
The more "soil mix" videos I watch, the more confidant I am in my own ability to mix soil. Thank you for the information.
Yes!! Absolutely- glad to contribute to that!
👎👎👎
Well done!!!! Repotting plants whether its outside or indoors is one of my favorite things to do, its like therapy. haha.
Truly is therapy!

hahaha we're all obsessed with him!
Gorgeous plants Becca! I'm loving them!! 😍💚
Thank you!! Me too 😍
I can never mix enough soil the first time either. 😂 thanks for the update!
Haha! Clearly I struggled with that in this video 😂
That extra you got is gorgeous, and I love the clairinervium
Ahh me too!☺️
Thank you!! Just repotted my Anthurium using your mixture!!

Miracle Grow products are about the worst thing you can use for any plant.

They’re all very happy now!! :) no more leaves have dropped thankfully. And yes, they were in jars of water for about 2 weeks awaiting repotting.

I don't have anthuriums but grandma has a really big one that puts out flowers almost every week. 😂
That is incredible!! :)
Lol..beautiful plants..
#thanksforaddingleo
thank you :)
I bet a bread knife ( or a saw 😂) would work to cut off chunks of that coco block!! Instead of wrestling with the whole thing!
HAHA! Probably a saw - I tried with a knife and it did not work 😂😂
Can I use sphagnum only?
