I will forever love the implication that Captain Ginyu told JEICE what to do if he gets repeatedly punched in the face. Not the whole team, just Jeice. Ginyu thought no one else needed this information, not even Guldo. Just Jeice.
To be fair, Jeice IS from Space Australia.
Ginyu knew Jeice had a very punchable face.
Or he didn't care enough about guldu, knew how burter's pride in his speed would have him insulted from that, figured recoome's expertise in wrestling already had him covered from such basic information and he himself already knows that to pass on that information
I like to imagine either its happened so often Ginyu had to give the advice,
or Jeice went up to him one day like "Cap'n, can I ask for your advice on something?"
Guldo can freeze time, if he gets punched in the face that many times he deserves it
I loved "How did you know about the parts you weren't there for?"
"That's a story for another day."
Piccolo with Nail and Kami fusing and still hearing them in his head is my favorite gag in DBZA.
"It's easy to quote Frieza, not because of the quality of his lines but of the content of Martin."

To be fair, “Come back, magic man” sounded like someone dying.
Rewatching DBZ, it's kinda amazing how this show barely exaggerated Vegeta's dickishness.
And then Super leaned on DBZA's dumb Goku lol

Super just ignored the Dub's version of Goku which was USA Executives wanting Anime Superman.
Goku in Super is much closer to Goku in the original Japanese for Dragonball and Z.

A part of my head Canon now for DBZ is that in his prime, Guru was able to go Orange but lost the Stamina to do so in his old age.
My head Canon for DBZA is that Guru could have gone Orange at any time but "not gonna lie. I don't really care about any of you."
I love how freeza has a list of how many times someone has said all kinds of different things to him but "imma deck you in the shnoz" is a new one
I love how they remember some lines by heart, shows how much they loved making it because of how it STUCK
The dialog in this series became foundational for modern internet comedy and fan edits.
It's sad that this legendary show ended
Because of the stupid Creators of Dragon ball z made a copyright claim and, I guess a law suit and that's how they cancelled it it's sad
They makin' Videos like this and continue the cell in hell series, I feel like they regret ending it but wanna stick to their guns about quitting.

The success of these videos is a sure sign that people want more.
Don’t get me wrong… I get burnout. I’ve been there. And if nothing else, you ended on a high. But there are still depths to be plumbed and to many, including myself, I now watch dbza more than I watch Dbz.
Please reconsider. The buu bits for totallynotmark just show that you are still at your peak. Please finish the job.
I rewatch this whole series at least once or twice a year lol it'll always be one of my favorites

I rewatch it about 3 times a year. I start at season 2. By that point, they have perfected the mix of comedy and seriousness
And Hellsing abridged.
Listening to Lani & Kaiser harmonize on "I am the terror that FLAPS IN THE NIGHT" is my absolute favorite bit from all of season 2.

One of my favourite jokes that they didn’t mention is “D-did you just hold a grudge” because I like to believe Goku did actually hold a grudge even though he’s goofy and an idiot he still holds grudges
1. Goku was telepathically communicating with people after getting crushed by Vegeta.
2. Master Roshi can read minds.
3. Goku AND Vegeta both read Buu's mind later.
4. People can pass their ki to each other and you think mind reading is the weird thing.
I should really comment with how useful Goku's "Oh. Oh. Ooohhhh." line is for general use.
Jeice & Burter need their own spinoff show, but I know it would hurt your voice 😂😂

I need a compilation of every time in both theirs and Taka’s commentaries where they use their characters voices to recite lines or just for fun
I knew what he was actually saying, but I always heard Jeice saying "Captain" as "Kitten".

I have a special order in the app called "the king Kai". It's 2 stuffed crust Hawaiian pizzas, a 2 liter of coke, and an order of the cinnamon bread. I don't get it very often, but sometimes I hear Goku's voice calling to me.
When you order it by phone the clerk goes "oh my" because George Takai is the clerk.

My friends & I have been saying for years that TFS's DBZA is almost _more canon_ than the original. We would be happy to watch their own dub & edit, because for us it wasn't the over-the-top jokes they put in that made it entertaining, rather it was the more honest expressions of _who_ each character was & what was happening in the series that captured our attention. TFS just has a knack for externalizing the audience's own internal dialogue in a sincere, yet story accurate way.

I love watching the best of commentary of an abridged version of an animated version of a 20 year old manga.
Commentary on a commentary, and the manga is 30 years old. Coming up on 35, now that I look it up.
Considering how DBZ is just the latter part of the Dragon Ball manga, it's less 20 years and more like 39.

Episode 26, my favorite moment of that episode (and maybe the whole season) is the Gohan vs Frieza moment when he threw a impromptu Masenko and Frieza sarcastically dialogued before he chuckles and says "just kidding". Followed by Gohan's "Crap baskets".
That scene is the reason why I still say crap baskets to this day.

Personally I like that Kai changed Goku's reason for for letting Freezer power up was simply: "I'm the only one who can defeat him, so I get to decide how he gets defeated. And I'm curious."
And also: "Krillin didn't deserve to permadie like that, so I'm going to tear Frieza the **** apart for it."

I said this over on four star bento but I wanna repeat it here as well. I interpret the whole power level thing being so prominent until after the Frieza saga mainly because of Frieza. The primary reason after any practical reasons of an easy way to pick out random grunts is Frieza's ego. The guy has an ego that could rival Abridged Kaiba and I could totally believe he would obsess over the power level thing as a way to reinforce just how superior he is to everyone under him. It thus never comes up afterward because none of the other villains feel the need to constantly boast about how superior they are, they simply know they are and thus don't need some number to validate them.
I think the number part also helps to translate the feeling that a higher power level gives off. Simply because his men cannot sense energy so putting a number on it helps get the same point across and ensure they know who is superior.
That is just my theory and how I choose to interpret power levels

Best joke with Vegetas Super Saiyan speech I've seen is if Freeza makes said speech during the Super Broly movie.
