I just heard you saying, that this video "underperformed".
My only explanation is, that RUclips did not show me this video and the first video with Brian in my "inbox" at all.
I had no idea, you uploaded those videos, this is why I am very late "to this party" !

Oh dear! I’m guessing you must have notifications turned on, seeing as you normally comment straight away.
I wonder why RUclips didn’t show you these other vids?
Thanks for letting me know! ❤️✌️

This actually made me cry because I relate so deeply with every word. I still don’t know if I would “get it” even if I met the future me at the time of my injury. It took going through those dark times to appreciate the good. So while hindsight is 20/20, I’m not sure there is much I would change. Yes, I could’ve made the process a little easier knowing what I know now but that’s where you and I come in! It’s all good stuff.❤️

    • @FreddotheWheelchairGuy
      @FreddotheWheelchairGuy  Год назад +1

Couldn’t agree more, while those dark times were deeply disturbing and undesirable, they shaped the person I am now.
I hope these words can resonate with someone who needs them, even tho they sound overly simplistic with hindsight.
So glad you enjoyed the vid Brian, this is why we do it ❤️ ✌️

You are a machine, dude! Your positive outlook is indeed admirable. Quite frankly, we are having a much harder time over here, accepting and dealing with grief, or whatever the heck you want to call this event of a life changing illness/injury. My perspective as a spouse/caregiver is, that 99% of strangers are extremely kind and much nicer to my husband since he’s been in a chair, unfortunately the opposite happened to his/our close circle. I am so happy to hear that you were able to get closer to your loved ones. That’s massive! Thank you for sharing this video and spreading positive vibes.

I didn’t realize I needed this video till about halfway through where I broke down. I had my accident 2 1/2 years ago (SCI very similar to yours), and am still trying to get to the silver lining part of things.
I love your perspective of life on hard mode, and giving others the gift of realizing how easy things really are. Those are things I’ll definitely never forget.

I'm in a wheelchair because of multiple Sclerosis the extra thing is I don't have use of my right arm and hand. So my independence is limited. I wish I had use of my right arm and hand. I depend on my husband for a lot. You are so uplifting.

Thanks for the encouraging video. I'm 79 and am in a "temporary" wheelchair, I hope. Been here for over a year and recovery is slow, so your story helps. I loved your dog training video, I'm trying to train my 2 little guys to walk beside the chair. Keep up the good work.

It is true walking don't mean happiness. I got a disorder that makes walking painful & it damages my legs. It get worse with time so I can't walk or stand for long even though I am 25 but can't go to a store, mall, school or any activity without being in pain & often falling down. I will start using a wheelchair before 30 but that's fine as I would actually enjoy my life & bieng able to do more instead of getting injured from walking & falling down from pain. I think it's easier mentally to loosing walking capability over a longer period of time, can't imagine how it feels to loose the ability to walk after an injury. I was talking snowboarding with a friend & that I can't do that again so that was sad to think about so I needed to see this

I’m really happy that the message in this video resonated with you. Using a wheelchair is a great tool for mobility and there’s no shame in using one, even if you can walk, if it makes life easier.

The video you posted today with Brittney was great! Deep thoughts man! I was a lil concerned when I saw the title, but then you guys went off on a tangent.

    • @FreddotheWheelchairGuy

Thanks. Title always needs to have clickability - I try not to click bait as such, but if we’d called it something with more nuance, it will get less views. That’s RUclips! 🤷‍♂️

I love my chair more as walking, less pain, o yeah and I can rolling and no more walking without a wall, table etc, so I’m even free as walking, only I most think 10 times from a-b, mis only standup and go, but I’m more happy and feeling better as last 3 years … mind, mis my body from before I had my spine cord injury, but I work hard to be the best in a chair 😉
