- I uploaded a version of this video a few days ago, but there was a mistake in the lyrics. So, here's a new, corrected version.
This 1960s folk song is presented with the full lyrics, chords and a suggested strumming pattern, so you can play or sing along with me and learn how to perform this classic tune.

I've loved this popular folk song ever since I was a little kid. The version I play here is based on the 1962, Peter, Paul and Mary recording. It was written by folk singer/banjo player Hedy West, although her version has a few more verses than most people sing. Justin Timberlake recorded a really nice version with David Michael Bennett, Carey Mulligan and Stark Sands for the soundtrack of the 2013 film 'Inside Llewyn Davis'.

This song sheet shows the chords I use when playing it on guitar and baritone ukulele (I don't use a capo when I play it on baritone uke). I play this song mostly using a D DU UDU strumming pattern. I hope this helps - Jez
