Every day I look for new reactors to Voiceplay's music. So glad I found yours. They are amazing singers. Their arrangements are done by Geoff Castellucci, the bass, and Layne Stein, the beatboxer. They routinely alternate month to month with a few exceptions. Whichever of them arranges also does the story board, direction, production, as well as costume, makeup and set design.
I hope that you will react to more of their work. The bearded high tenor left in 2020 for undisclosed personal reasons. The wolfman baritone left in 2021, recruited by the US Navy to sing with them.
I will be here every time you react to Voiceplay, they are fabulous!

Loved your reaction, thank you! I suspect you will LOVE their take on Greig's In the Hall of the Mountain King. GORGEOUS vocalizations, still no lyrics, but a hilarious story that they added - filled with trolls and strange creatures.

Please do a deep dive into their catalogue. They truly blend costumes and crazy musicality. Check out any of their medleys, their Halloween offerings are awesome - Oogie Boogie's Song, Friends On The Other side, Hide & Seek, Kidnap The Sandy Claws.

Voice Play are known as The Theater Kids of a capella. They are the ones who started with theatrical a capella & other groups followed in their footsteps. ( sometimes ). Nobody does theatrical a capella better than Voice Play. Layne the best boxer & Tony a former member own PattyCake studio & productions. Voice Play are a total package. They do mostly everything themselves.

Voiceplay just did a Halloween cover with Lauren Paley of Knock Knock (Who's There) and the bass guy , Geoff Castellucci has his own page where he has his own covers, most recent is Ghost Riders in the Sky, he even has his own cover of Monster Mash from last year. Voiceplay also has a few more for Halloween, such as Oogey Boogey song which gives you a hint of Geoffs range (5 octaves)

Welcome to Voiceplay's rabbit hole... 😁.
IF you're interested in a cappella performances, these guys (a.k.a. "the theatrical kids of a cappella") are among the best (my favourites, BTW, but there are a few others... Home Free, for more country-oriented songs, Pentatonix, for more pop songs, The Bass Gang for crazy vocal stuff...). Voiceplay cover so many different genres that it's difficult to put them in one or another. They also had lots of changes in their lineup, so that if you watch older videos (or newer... 😁) you'll see different singers. They're famous for picking a song and making it their own, yet respecting the original. Also, the bass singer, Geoff (pron. "Jeff") Castellucci, started his own channel during the pandemic, and has a number of fantastic videos in which he sings ALL the parts and harmonies, showing his whole 5+ octaves range. Both Voiceplay and Geoff tend to show their sense of humour in what they do, even in small things, and I LOVE them for this. 😁
I don't know whether you may be interested in exploring their universe or not, but... I'd give them a try. Even under a strictly musical lens, they're quite interesting, and their arrangement and performances are very rich. I see you reacted to a cover of "Tennessee whiskey"... Well, Voiceplay has one as well, it could be a nice starting point. And for Geoff's "solo", I'd suggest "Far over the Misty Mountains cold", not the most "spectacular" song in his repertoire, but a fantastic rendition nonetheless. Ah, all the people you see in ANY of his videos are him. 🙂

Every time someone with a solid background in what he's reacting to (in this case, singing and music) does these videos, we that do not have such background can learn more in-depth aspects and details about what we're watching and improve our ability in discerning stuff. 🙂

Aaliyah - what I like about your reaction videos is you include clips of your own singing, and you also admit you are not an expert. This is the exact opposite of many channels lol. In other words, your reactions and analysis actually hold a lot of weight because you are clearly a real singer out there doing it (as opposed to a "voice coach" who doesn't show any evidence of their own singing)

Great review Voiceplay is definitely on my favorites list. I hope you make them a regular part of your reactions. The music arrangements by Lane(beatboxer) or Geoff (Bass) are incredibly imaginative and complex. Try one of their latest - "In the Hall of the Mountain King" to get a sample of the rhythm, tempo and texture changes they can work into an instrumental piece re-arranged for an acapella group. ruclips.net/video/Y2a5v26q1AM/видео.html
