Me and my friends had this theory that the Orange princess was killed some time during the game. During the painter boss fight you see pictures of her with a sword in her back, and every time she's on screen alone she doesn't make a sound or seem to stand up, She just lays there. Finally the fact that she turned into a clown at the very end. Maybe as some kind of last laugh by the evil wizard.
Yeah i did notice that painting but didn't give it much thought, that is a really good theory

i think they have the last princess be a clown because the more and more you beat the game, they’re calling you a clown
with the boss room details it implies this wasnt the first time the evil wizard tried taking over a kingdom,in the past he most likely succeeded elsewhere
he does have 4 other crystals there
Going across the ocean takes you likely to another kingdom, so that must be one of them
I think it's a reference to Wizard of Oz's emerald city. We see ruins of it
The dragon entry was actually referring to the fact that the Fire demons could potentially be baby dragons

Man, that crystal theory makes the game so much more disturbing. Like you’re killing all these people that are your allies, at the end of the day.
But it also explains why the skeletons attacked you if they’re the lava town villagers… and I guess we could say the necromancer revived them, but he couldn’t have brought back all of them.
It also explains why all but one regular enemy is playable.
God, this game was my childhood. Nostalgic to see people talking about this lol

Hell yess! I’ll never forget the first gamertag I made was based on my main character I used in this game “epicleflameguy” lol and this was back when xbox360 gamechat was popping off, so you KNOW I was getting roasted on call of duty lol😅

I think within the Under Water section at 4:09 means to reference Waterflame (composer for some music) and Acid Lightning (being some sort of content creator for the game) as being inspirations for the four elements the knights hold (Water (Ice), Flame (Fire), Acid (Poison), Lightning (lightning lol)). That’s probably what that entry is for.

I grew up with Castle Crashers on the PS3 version and I remember the scissors being there
And then I played the PC port later on and I was questioning if I had a mandela effect or if it's rare
And now I know it's PS3 exclusive
I wonder what the reason was for it being removed, i could not find any info why

the scissors were on me for xbox 360
about the last entry, we can see that the area leading up to the crystal castle place that houses all the endgame bosses and the castle itself are full of skeletons and pieces of torn up houses, sheds, and other structures. this probably means there was once a kingdom next to the ice kingdom that has since been destroyed presumably by the wizard and turned into his own lair.
the evil wizard does seem like he has done this before

Tbh the red knight's constant zap magic is pretty unique to me so I thought they were the leader

I don't think there is a leader, just what players think really
If there would be a leader amongst all playable knights it would either be The Blacksmith/Purple Knight or the Gray Knight with an Open Helmet
I can honestly see the Crystal theory being true as it can actually explain why you unlock enemies after most play throughs ( granted the real reason is probably because playing as the enemies is a cool concept but it’s cool to think about )

I have had a theory for a long time that Alien Hominid, BattleBlock Theatre, and Castle Crashers are all connected. This is because the Alien Ship in Alien Hominid is seen being shot down by a large beam, possibly being Hattingtons after the credits of BBT. Although in AH it is implied that the FBI shot it down, it could’ve just been an alarm that alerted people of Alien Invasion. In Castle Crashers, we also can obviously find both Hattington and his Golden Whale pet, along side the Aliens in their ship that were identical to the ones in AH. There is more to the theory, but I don’t have time to explain it in depth. I might make a RUclips video on it at some point in the future though.
i know that BBT and pit people are connected and honestly i would not be surprised if all the games were connected
interesting theory, but how would hattington be in castle crashers and also in battleblock theatre? in battleblock theatre they obviously have firearms, but in castle crashers they only have swords and shields. if hattington was around for castle crashers and also in battleblock theatre, that would make him extremely old
@@spoomks he is a playable character in Castle Crashers and I believe that in Castle Crashers remastered he sits in a throne in the Insane store. I could be wrong about that second part though.

If you're looking for ideas on Castle Crashers challenge runs, I think I might have an idea, one that's not even too painful. It might also showcase some of the lesser used weapons in the game.
The premise is that you must switch to and use every weapon you find during the campaign. This can be through weapons that are plainly in sight, dug up or bought. Making sure you start with a shovel might also make it a bit more fun. Here are also some extra rules ro spice it up.
- You can never go into the moose-frog to change your weapon.
- Whenever you enter a shop, you must buy the weapon there if you haven't already.
- To prevent it from just being a magic run, you can't invest more than five points into magic. (Just to unlock the horizontal projectile spell).
Given castle crashers rather imbalanced weapons, this could be a fun run to showcase the ignored weapons while indulging in some hijinks from potential dropped weapons from enemies.
I really like that idea thank you, i have so many ideas and videos planned but i 100% would like to do that one!

Correction: 1:15 The PS3 version also only has the pink knight and blacksmith as DLC (+ hatty) the other characters are unlocked during insane mode. The Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions have Hatty unlockable for gold in the Insane Store. Alien is technically also DLC for Xbox 360 because you have to get an achievement in Alien Hominid to unlock him.
Correction 2: 2:57 You can play as many Castle Crashers characters in Battleblock theater! These include Barbarian, Snakey, Rammy, etc. You can also play as Alien Hominid characters in Battleblock such as the FBI agents, Alien, and more.

the different versions of the games got so confusing with the dlcs lol and i did not realise there were that many characters in bb
On the Xbox 360 and steam versions Hatty is unlocked by having an achievement in BBT, much like the Alien on the Xbox.
Castle Crashers to this day is my favorite game and im playing the game every year. Seeing this iceberg was a huge pleasure, and i guess i will start playing the game again.

I think that the skeleton and the crown where supposed to be the orange's princess corpse and crown, and yeah, I know that we don't see the princess with a crown but i do think that the plan was to get the princess killed (mainly for the art that we can see in the paintings in the painter's boss fight) and because I'm pretty sure that Dan said once that the idea was for the mage to kill the princess unleashing the fury of the knights
That makes a lot of sense, i wish it was something they expanded on further
this game is my childhood and my favorite of all time; i would die happy if they ever released a part 2
One thing I've always wondered was why the iceskimo starts with one of the strongest weapons in the game, probably because they had to give them a weapon the iceskimo enemies use but didn't want to nerf it cause it's really far in the endgame
i think it is because they are an endgame enemy but who knows
What a guy, I’m replaying castle crashes again on a fresh account and this jus opened my eyes. Been rocking with this game for over 10 years now good to see guys still playing it.
RIP hatty hattington,saddest death ever,i couldn't belive what had happened when i first saw the final level and the tragic cutscene that came with it,the final level was a mix of *awesomeness* of the music,the hard timings,and getting to the final jump...when you finished the level,you would go to hatty's room where it was already too late,you took him and ran outside to see all your friends fighting the guards and the storm just adding more tension to get to the ship,when you got to the ship,you thought there was hope,but you slowly realized that there wasn't,the ending was unexpected because i thought he would return to life but sadly no,the hat corrupted him so i hope there will be a sequel to the game or atleast some explanation or some video.
16:17 although a silly game the idea now it’s intriguing to imagine that this floating castle of evil went around to collect crystals and bait in the form of princesses but were stopped only thanks to these knights, I mean armour was normally standardised so it’s also a nice idea for the necromancer having a similar design to our armour. I am just glad to see this game again, also I forgot hegreen knight had a special attack like that! And more interestingly, the wiki states that the Arabian/sand knights can also do a unique attack in the form of the sand twirl. I don’t know how and if it’s real. But it’s also interesting, totally not happy as the green knight was the knight I played at the start and the only one so far that I made him reach level 99. I tell you the insane volcano solo was a grand milestone indeed
Come to think of it, there are like 4 crystals in the final boss room. Maybe the evil wizard was going around collecting them, that is a really good theory!

9:24 Yooo I actually remember these scissors!! I owned Castle Crashers on the PS3, and I've only encounters these scissors once in an insane playthrough!!
If you were to ask me, I would say that the crown, skeleton, and broken chair you see in the wizard boss fight was probably used as a threat to scare the player that the king was killed, because we rarely see him in the game at all, and we have no knowledge of where he could have went.
To be honest, knowing how Dan Paladin designs things, I can safely say that the details in the background or similar things to it are just made because they were either funny, or just wanted to decor the thing.
I don't really think they hold actual meanings lol.

O detalhe do rei morto na arena do último chefe, me faz pensar o seguinte, talvez o esqueleto seja do mago, que ao invés de ter sido ressuscitado atravéz de uma magia do necromante, ele tenha voltado em uma forma mágica ou nem voltado, talvez esse mago que a gente vê no jogo tenha pego o cristal e mais uma das princesas para reviver o corpo morto, pois de todos os lugares para manter um corpo tão importante fosse em uma sala tão importante quanto a do último chefe.

i was playing xbox 360 Castle Crashers, and i loaded into a online multiplayer match, someone was playing as the troll, someone played as red knight, and someone played as the EVIL WIZARD(not the minion). I swear, i remember it clear as day. That group was how i maxed out my king, beating insane mode with them. I ported the save data to remastered, and yeah, my king is still lvl 99, gold skull.
I like to think that lava world used to be a somewhat more advanced area as this is the only place you can find more cultured and complex foods like burgers and fries as opposed to the usual fruits and turkey legs. The coneheads are somewhat similar as they have more luxurious deserts.

Acid lightning is a castle crashers youtuber that does a lot of content such as a guides, playthroughs, personal challenges, etc. He's also ranked top 10 globally on the kill leaderboard if you check in the castle crashers game. this is because he is very good at juggling and does a lot xp grind, so he racks up a lot of kills over the many many many hours.

This was an intresting video some lore and story was one of the many things castle crashers wss missing
i feel like there is a lot of lore that is left up to the players imagination, they leave clues and bits throughout without ever fully explaining

Another interesting point is that the Battle Block Theater top hat glows red, the exact hue that the crystal does in the cult leaders possession. I personally think the cult member somehow had cursed the hat in some way, which explains the erratic behavior.
Either that or BBT takes place in the future, in which the crystal was used to curse the hat. Likely some guy who hated the original hat owner and did a little treasure hunting. Something like that
