No it's terrible. he doesn't have important cards. Towering Presence and Collateral Damage is the only right cards he had. Collateral Damage is not worth running if it's not level 4-5. You pretty much need Raze & Burn Level 4-5 and Ancient Wounds Level 1-3 in every yag build and Last Efforts Level 1 filler. Dreadful Compact, Collateral Damage, and Towering Presence being other top choices but not mandatory.
I dont like using towering presence. I am more suprised that he isnt running out of time or end of era at level 5. Idk all cards by head but I think your build is good. But I think yag just like Koga has 100 difrent functional builds but Andrews isnt one of them.@@a.k.axurai5678
AndrewChicken, I don’t know where you're getting these loadouts from, but they really need some adjustments. You absolutely need Raze & Burn at Level 4 or 5 for consistent value. Collateral Damage should also be at Level 4-5; anything lower just isn't worth running. Violent Birth is honestly a meme card, especially now that her acceleration cooldown has been reduced, making it even less viable. Run Dreadful Compact at least Level 2. As for End of Era, it should be kept at Level 1-2, going any higher would be ineffective. I personally don't run that card though. Deadly Predator isn't worth using either, and you should prioritize Ancient Wounds at Level 1-3. These adjustments will make your loadout more optimal.
Hey I'm new to paladins and yag seems really cool, but I always just die immediately. I definitely think I'm way more tanky than I am, clearly. Is she a bad character to start with? Who else should I learn the game on? Or what should I do different with her/ what loadout should I use?
@@izzywn5802 Yagorath is a high-risk, high-reward champion with a unique playstyle. If you're struggling with her survivability, it's likely due to positioning and understanding her mechanics rather than her being a bad character to start with. Here’s a breakdown: Strengths: Yagorath excels at creating space for her team, controlling areas, and sustaining herself with constant healing. She has strong utility with her zoning abilities and her ultimate, which can change the course of a team fight. Weaknesses: Her stationary nature in Planted form makes her vulnerable to focus fire and mobile enemies. Positioning is key, and if she’s caught out of place, she can be focused down quickly. She’s also reliant on her team for support, especially in maintaining her health during fights. To improve your Yagorath gameplay, focus on: Positioning: Don't overextend. Use Travel Form to escape when necessary, and plant yourself in spots where you can control key areas without being exposed. Self-Healing: Invest in Raze & Burn and items like Meditation and Chronos to improve your gameplay and sustain during fights. Map Awareness: Always be mindful of enemy positions and avoid getting caught out of position. Mastering Yagorath requires a delicate balance between aggression and caution, a deep understanding of her strengths and weaknesses, and the ability to outthink and outmaneuver opponents. While she’s a powerhouse in the right hands, she’s also a champion who can be easily countered if not played with precision and foresight. Her "counters" are champions that deal burn or damage over time, so having teammates who can help you deal with those champions benefit Yagorath. It’s important to remember that hitscan champions aren’t a significant threat to Yagorath. It's crucial to remember that Paladins is a 5v5 game. If you're playing Yagorath intelligently - constantly repositioning, using your abilities wisely, and working with your team - you shouldn't be getting "farmed" by the enemy team. I primarily use Corrosive Acid as my go-to talent. With the recent buffs to quills and hardening, it's become even more oppressive and allows for higher damage output. The quill cooldown reduction and hardening buffs have made cards like Dreadful Compact, Last Efforts, and Raze & Burn even more potent. In certain situations, particularly in triple or quad tank comps, I'll switch to Sight Begets Strength. This talent enables allies to push more effectively and provides Yagorath with a bit more survivability. It's more valuable than ever due to the current tank-heavy meta and Yagorath's improved base damage.
@@izzywn5802 While I don't have video evidence for playing Yagorath effectively, I highly recommend searching "Paladins Ranked Yagorath Gameplay" on platforms like RUclips. Watching ranked gameplay can give you a good idea of what decent Yagorath players do, especially in terms of positioning and decision-making. Pay attention to how well they utilize their Travel Form to reposition and avoid being caught out. If a player is constantly out of position or dying unnecessarily, it’s usually a sign of poor gameplay. Look for how they engage in team fights and control objectives, as well as how they retreat when things get too risky. This should give you a clearer idea of effective strategies for playing Yagorath. Make sure to always use your ultimate behind cover to secure kills or control the point (You rarely ult standing on point, you would ult near it). If you're confident that you can stall long enough for your team to return, ulting on point when alone can be a strategic move.
@@akahey656 Thank you, what do you mean by key areas? Like the payload, or chokes and such? Areas of strategic importance. I'm thinking as someone who doesn't even know the maps yet, yagorath might not be the starter pick. What tank would you consider the best to start on?
@@izzywn5802 For a new player learning Paladins who doesn't know the maps yet, you're right that Yagorath might not be the best starter pick as an off-tank. She has a unique playstyle that requires good map knowledge and positioning to be effective. Yagorath excels at area control when positioned strategically, particularly behind cover. While you can contest near the objective, avoid open spaces where your large hitbox makes you vulnerable to enemy fire. As the largest character in the game, improper positioning can turn you into an easy target for opponents to build their ultimate charge. Remember, Yagorath's role is that of an off-tank focused on creating space for the team rather than securing kills. For a beginner tank in Paladins, I would recommend starting with: Fernando: He's a point tank with a straightforward kit, including a shield and area-of-effect damage. His abilities are easy to understand and use. Fernando Priority Items: Guardian, Master Riding, Nimble, Morale Boost Nyx: excels as a point tank in Paladins, bringing a strong toolkit to the objective. Her abilities include an area-of-effect cripple, which can significantly impair enemy movement and abilities. One of her standout features is a built-in rejuvenate effect that activates while she's contesting the point, enhancing her sustainability. With the right card loadout, Nyx can dish out impressive area-of-effect damage, making her a threat to multiple opponents simultaneously. Nyx Priority Items: Arcane Warding, Master Riding, Nimble, Veteran Khan: As an off-tank, Khan is a solid choice for beginners. Khan Priority Items: Morale Boost, Master Riding, Nimble, Armor Plating These champions are generally more forgiving for new players and can help you learn tanking fundamentals without the complexity of Yagorath's unique mechanics.
