In my opinion, the V5’s are the best looking shoe of the year so far. I’ll definitely be picking up a pair once they’re released. By the way, I’m new to your channel. I’ve been really enjoying your videos. Your enthusiasm and passion for running / running shoes comes over loud and clear. Superb content all round. I’ve now subscribed to your channel. Keep up the excellent work 👏🏼
I don’t know if they’re great looking or not. I sorta like them, but they also look like a special needs shoe. Regardless, they’re getting great reviews. Waiting for a colorway I like.
You are the only channel that is mindful of grammar, subject, verb agreement! Kudos love it keep up the great work. Many people make sva mistakes., As well as comparative adjectives mistakes.
I have been a Ultraboost fanboy for the past 5 years and never gave NB a thought. Thought of them as old guy shoes. ( I was in the gym one day and noted every guy in the gym over 65 had white New Balance's with the big blue N on the side. Lol) Anyway, just ordered the More V5's and can't wait for them to get here!
I was looking forward to the Balos but I remember them talking about the ground contact eva a few months back and that's when they lost me especially for a 200$ shoe. I was surprised how fast it's wearing down already
Early Saturday mornings are my race days..Sunday morning is my easy day to just get out and enjoy the sun coming up and the quiet morning..my feet seem to prefer the non-plated squishy shoes like the Balos or the rebel V3..like your Saturday morning 4-6 bebop runs, those shoes are simple and quiet and bebopping along is what running is all about..you always need to stop and smell the flowers along the way of this journey and don't take yourself too seriously..the bread is my lifelong downfall..enjoy the kids..they're only young once..😊
Most shoes aren’t worth the price, particularly the $250 race shoes. The V5 is nice but the V4 is discounted and does the same thing at being the best max cushion trainer out there. The balos should be $180 as it’s their nonplated super trainer but the superblast is $200.
Still using the More V3’s and the OG Endorphin Shift not sure if more stack and foam make the shoe any different to previous versions, softer yes but any better that’s a matter of opinion really, I would still prefer to use the OG Endorphin Speeds and Novablast than any version after them.
love the balos. had the toe box issue with the more v5 on my pinky toe. a lil too much rocking with more v5 also. Love both shoes, but def prefer balos.
I'm gonna get a new daily in the spring. It's between the balos and more v5. I like the lower drop on both shoes. I just want something very soft and good for daily miles and recovery. I am leaning towards the balos as they're lighter, smaller and still offer the squish. I like the big foam stack of more v5, but idk about the weight etc. What do you think?
I haven't had any issues with the rebel v4 bottoming out. It's definitely not as cushioned as other daily trainers/speed shoes but the foam has held up well through about 120 to 130 miles for me. If you have more miles on it that could be why
@@harjabenharris4510 I had a pair when I first started running earlier this year. And I had a couple bad running days and thought it was the shows so I returned them. Now I know, some days just aren't as good as others. Ice almost copped pair again last week for $120 on amazon but they all sold out. 🙄
@harjabenharris4510 I love those! Had a pair! But earlier this year I was a way less mature runner and thought the shoes were my problem, but it was me so I returned them. Now can't find any!
Are you ever gonna sell the trucker hat version of hobby jogger hat? That’d be so dope 😎 Also, the new balance balos is low key your fav shoe lol. You love it
Hahah the balos is great but $200 is just so steep for what it is. And yeah I'll def do a trucker restock at some point - just did the running version for now
Could you do a list for bigger runners or runners that use more force. Some shoe stability factor are wasted for my if the foam is to soft that when I land on the heel it collapses in or outwards. I go faster outward or stay there to long.My insole correct something. It would be nice to look for a shoe for long or recovery runs or a more uptempo shoe perhaps race shoe. Some factors for bigger runners are. Stiffer heel, stiffer foam, side walls, heel bevel, wider platform, lower than 7cm heel drop is a pre. I test now a lot for me. Uptempo. -Adidas Boston 12, (in landing platform perhaps drives you lilte more outward, the foam in the back is lateral some what lower in the end of the shoe. -Mach 6 (found it good stable!) -brooks Hyperion 2 gts stiffer foam (not test yet) Longer/ recovery -new balance more v5 (not test it, is the foam not to soft?) -HOKA Gaviota 5 (not test yet) -cloud monster 2 -Brook Hyperion max 2(not try yet) stiffer foam -Adidas Adipro 3 (not try yet) -Topo phantom (not like the medial post foam pressure up- but the foam is very stable). Race. -Aesic edge Paris I like the foam perhaps more narrow but stable. Most stable for a race shoe for bigger runners
Do you have any experience with the On Cloudmonster and/or CloudEclipse to compare to these two? Wondering about the Superblast as well. I'm one with too many shoes looking for the goldilocks fun, bouncy and looks great for travel.
Just jumped in to another marathon build. Looking for another daily/long run shoe for steazy paces. I'm between the novablast 4 & the 860v14. Thoughts for a 6'2" - 190lb runner?
Ayy congrats on the new training block. Both are great options but for that "steazy" zone I'd go 860 - it's a little easier to run fast pace in. I've put down some 6:20 miles in mine and felt great. Novablast maxes out for me around 7:00/6:50 - super comfortable but not the fastest. 860 is the more versatile one
Balos looks like a nice daily trainer and it doesn't seem like a lot of shoe, which I like. Even shoes like the Superblast and Neo Vista, which are reasonably light can just feel big, whereas the SL2 (36mm), Mach 6 (37mm), and Deviate Nitro 2 just don't feel like big shoes. That said, it doesn't seem like a $200 shoe.
Both are great but I'd go for 860 as a replacement for the Ultraboost. It's more of a versatile shoe than the 1080 - 860 is smooth, decently soft and great for any type of run. 1080 is an awesome shoe if you like super soft, but it's not as good for faster running
They are comfortable for walking but I'd recommend the Saucony hurricane 24! They are my current favorite walking shoes - I have a few videos about them on the channel including a comparison to the more v5 ruclips.net/video/hMiRVxmRreM/видео.html and they also made my most comfortable list ruclips.net/video/XTGlRnNfdwk/видео.html they are a little more stable and peppy than the more v5
Both are more cushioned than rebel v4. Balos is like a higher stack version of the rebel but maybe even a touch softer. Rebel is better for fast high end speed and balos is more protective for longer miles
I didn't like v4 at all either (only used for a short parking lot jog but immediately took them off lol) but I love this. It's way different - v4 felt like it had no bounce to me and this thing is surprisingly lively from the rocker and new foam
Can you compare the Balos vs Superblast 2? I am a new runner (18 Months now) and looking for a new long run training/marathon shoe. Don't want to spend the $250 plus for a super shoe, but willing to pay $200 for a super trainer.
Great question! The balos is more of an everyday running shoe with a soft and fun feel, and the superblast 2 is that long run shoe you're looking for. From new balance the main competitor would be the sc trainer v3. I haven't tested the superblast 2 yet but I've heard it's pretty similar to the 1, which wasn't my favorite. I'd highly suggest the novablast 4 as an alternative - it's only $140 vs $200 for the superblast and has a nice protective ride with a decent amount of pep. It's my favorite non plated shoe for long runs
@Yowana Hi, can you make a video where you review the best running shoes for toe runners? As well as being gentle on the knees, with the most cushioning. I feel that the impact is too hard when I run and the pressure on the knees becomes too much. I have New Balance Supercomp trainer V2.
Check out Topo. Cyclone 2 is lower stack but I can do long easy/steady runs in it (6-10 miles for me) and forefoot strike the whole way and feel good at the end. If you're looking for a little more cushioning, Specter 2 coming out from them in August might be the perfect shoe to try. Topo shoes look sort of different but they are by far the most comfortable feeling running shoes I've tried in terms of total foot shape and they make forefoot striking over long distances feel easy for me.
Might also be worth taking some time to look at your form or try different forms and see if an imbalance somewhere might be causing the knee issues. James Dunne has a great youtube channel for this.
New balance are releasing some bangers lately 🔥
I'm always up for more More v5 videos 🔥
