Jason, thanks for these videos! So well done and your attention to detail is fantastic. About to do this to my Mazda 6 Carbon, as well as the red brake calipers like you did. Both videos are so thorough and you earned a subscriber!
Just modded my 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback. Wanting to put some black on all the chrome attached to the body and this was very helpful. Got a new subscriber. Mahalo from Hawaii. 🤙
Thanks for the video! I already had the sides done with vinyl, but I used your tutorial to do my back badges, and it worked perfectly! Thanks for the info.
Been driving mine for 5 months already, wouldn't chrome delete with a matte plasti-dip not gonna lie. It's not that I like the chrome but the finish of plastidip and trust i've done it with my other cars just doesn't match shit on it and just ends up looking like a $10 mod. I'm taking it to a friend of mine that's going to roll out a custom front and rear diffuser for me and just get a titanium straight pipe done by a local shop I take my whole fleet to. The car is just designed straight up for a widebody kit so i'lm waiting for someone to get a quality one out then i'll slap on some proper 5 spoke jdm wheels on it and it'll look amazing.
Your Mazda 3 Logo came out better then mine I cut tiny Pieces of tape to do each letter the. I gave up and I cut so much of my paint when I used the plasty dip the scratches got Painted so mine turned out alright I learned from my mistake
OMG I love this! I wish my dad was alive he could help me. Think this female could do this herself? I’m a little afraid but want to remove the chrome when my entire car is polymetal gray and black. Gonna give mine its first car wash since we had snow, raining weather. I found a hand car wash near me that even had an air dryer
@@jasonin2details I like it blacked out, but I am leasing and not worried about the chrome on my polymetal hatch. I was definitely planning on plastidipping the front chrome if I bought a sedan...
Great video! I need to do this to my 21 Cx 5 Carbon Edition. The only thing I do not like about the car is the black on top and chrome on the bottom of the windows. What was Mazda thinking on that?
If you're asking about the gen 4s brake feel? It's kinda muted. I drove one and I didn't like it compared to my Gen 3. And even then, my Gen 3 needs new brakes. Mazdas been dropping the ball when it comes to brakes the past couple gens
Hi, from south Spain. I own an e-SkyActive-X Mazda 3 and hate chrome also. Although I have a doubt: could I black out my front emblem with smoke vinyl even when radar is placed just behind it? Thank you very much in advance.
I'm more of a chrome guy. But why can't Mazda or any other brand just give customers the option to have chrome or black trims? Or even something else like brushed aluminium or whatever is possible... Shouldn't be that difficult?
it is expensive to offer options like that, Mazda is already criticized for raising the cost of their cars due to inclusion of all the new safety tech.
how many cans did you use in total? jus picked my my 2020 premium hb gray exterior, i rlly wna chrome delete everything so it looks much cleaner. clean build sir, i like it a lot. also which visors did you use ?
So what about the front Emblem? I want to do this to my 2019 Mazda 3 but I want to do the front as well, I don’t see a way to take the casing off the M....
that front emblem is the radar sensor for the safety systems, tread carefully (I think there was one base model in 2019 without the safety systems, otherwise I would not cover that emblem, light rain or snow can disable the safety systems due to interfering with that sensor).
I want to do this on the trim pieces for my Ridgeline, but I'm worried about how it will hold up in car washes. I'm not a hand wash guy, so I take my truck through a brush car wash at least once a week.
Plastidip is very strong. I am not sure how stong for repeated brush washes? You could maybe try a small section and then after a few weeks see how its doing and if bad just peel it off.
Looking for some peoples opinion considering doing this I have a 2019 hatch but it is black do you guys think it would look better w the chrome or black on black
@@shkarabonga haha awesome. You may leave behind some ghosting behind those logos though. I used polishing compound and buffed it out and it was like there was never a logo there
You're a mind reader dude. If I had that model, I'd take the mazda3 badge off the back too for OCD reasons. Plus it's more fun when people ask about it!
Lol, my bad. I have a 2015 model and I took the badge off an 06 Mazda 6. They're both removable. I forgot this model had the trunk release built into the badge. XD
Great video bust almost half the shots your hands are in the way. I understand it can be difficult to arrange a great camera angle but still a great video overall!
Its spray on rubber. It has zero chance of messing anything up. If you mess up or dont like results it simply peels clean off as shown in video. Cost less than $20 bucks and it was fun. 2 years down the road if you want it off it comes clean off then also.

The days when black trim was for the base models.
Mazda is so nice now

I have the exact same car with a red interior and 2020! Keep posting videos man love kt
Subscribed! I saw one just coated over the Skyactiv badge, and it actually looked good. Awesome mod bro!
Nice, I didn’t know coloring the chrome would be that easy.
About to do this to my Mazda cx30 carbon edition ! Thank you for showing me how sir !
No problem. We are about to do it to out new Mini Cooper also
I guess I'm okay to keep the chrome parts, but thanks for giving an example. That's important.
Getting mine in that same colour this saturday!
My Fiance bought this for her. The Gray and red leather put this car over the top for her plus all the other bells and whistles!

I love the red interior for the Mazda wow. I just wish I could get the cx30 with the exact interior and with a manual
How to remove the actual Mazda logo at the back unlock button? Is it only glued on or screwed in?
im going to be gettting this car next year im so excited!
I've been debating on whether to say something.
Well it's just my opinion.
I like the chrome.
No offense.
Its all good! Everyone likes something different

Do you know how to remove the clear plastic over the front emblem? The front emblem would look sick with the matte black
im sure its possible!
Not bad dawg. I'm gonna do mine glosss to match my glosss wheels

how come you didn't do the front emblem?
Looks Beautiful!
I really needed this video. Thank you.
How responsive is the brake feel? Does it have quite a pedal travel or is it sensitive/firm during initial application?

Amazing! Could you please drop down the names of the products you used?
Don't do it use high gloss wrap this dude is ridiculous his way won't last 2 months
Damn wanting to see how you removed glass from front emblem to plastidip it
me too!! still trying to figure out, did you???
The real question how long will it stay being painted on an even surface like this. I think it will peel off after a month
its still on and perfect 6/9/21 so over 2 years
@@jasonin2details the key is to keep the car out of the Sun as much as possible and also keep it clean

About 1.5 cans
Hi, is it possible to also make that black plasti dip glossy like if it was black chrome?
They do have an additional product called Glossifier that adds a little more shine
Chrome is the Best
Do you have to be extra careful when you wash the car because of the plastidip?
Nope its very tough. Maybe pressure washer inches away would strip it off but paint might also come off if you tried with pressure washer.
@@jasonin2details so a car wash is ok?
Where did you get the black grill covers?

That’s plastidip
good job
nice work... there!
Thank you for sharing. Now I know what I can do with my black spray can 😈
Updated! I did it yesterday and it looks slick in person 😍
Is there a particular brand of plastidip you use?
Why not just wrap it?
Can you come to Australia and plasti dip my Mazda.. cannot find anyone who can do this here!
Sophie Kotopoulos give it a go yourself! They sell plastidip at supercheap auto
What’s under the Mazda 3 logo? Locating holes or is it just stuck on?! Can someone let me know.
I dont know correct answer. I have heard there are holes under it and the center mazda logo.
Beautiful

Jason how did you remove the skyactiv emblem on the back?
Use dental floss and just work it back and forth.
tell me, is it possible to completely peel off the mazda 3 from the back?

Wouldn’t it be easier to just take the trim out & spray paint it instead of taking all that time to prep the car?
Is there a way to de-chrome the front badge since it’s a censor?
I am not sure. My guess is it can be taken apart.
You can’t dechrome it, it’s encased by plastic so what I did and a lot of other people did is a dark smoke headlight tint on it
I have my 04 mazda 6, I want to do the same!!!
its cheap and easy and if you dont like the results just peel it off. So go for it!

Does it endure the car wash?
we did it almost a year ago and it still looks the same. Many car wash both touchless and hand wash and no problems

it so lame for mazda not putting one single Chrome part in the back door , that split on it destroy this car
Just wrap it looks way better
vinyl wrap it or black chrome it professionally. dont put cheap mods on a brand new car.
