Christ claimed to be the Son of God (which is His role in the trinity), and God Himself (who He actually is), and therefore, we are brothers and sisters in Christ’s name. If we are brothers and sisters in Christ, then we are brothers and sisters of Christ: so if Christ was the Som of God, we are also the children of God. ----- Islam is far trickier. They believe Judaism is correct, and that Christianity is correct that Jesus came, however they claim he was a prophet, and not God. They also claim that God abandoned the Israelites and has chosen a new people, the Arabs. They claim God wants us all to convert to Islam, and become Arabs. This is vastly different then Christianity and Judaism, and here is why: Judaism and Christianity claim God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, God would never change who his Chosen people are. God would also never change His law so drastically from what the Torah claims is the law, and what Islam claims the law is. Islam gets around this problem by claiming the Bible and tanakh (the Jewish and Christian holy books) are corrupted. Judaism and Christianity have lots of historical merit, whilst Islam always falls short on its historical merit.
To finish this off: John 14:6 is where Jesus states - “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father, but by me.” The Father is referring to God the Father, which is the head of the Trinity of God. (The trinity is a concept that states there are three parts to One God.) The Son is Christ, which is when God in human form. The Spirit is when Christ left, but left us with a different part of God that will guide us. Hope this helped clear up any misunderstandings.
