New John Deere Q850M First Impressions

- This is the new John Deere Q850M Quicktrac stand-on lawn mower powered by a 27hp Kawasaki, with a 54-inch deck. Our local Midwest Machinery graciously allowed us to take this mower out to a few of our lawn-mowing accounts for a few hours to see how it compared to our 52-inch Toro Grandstand. In this video, you will see the Q850M in action and my thoughts on the new quicktrac.
Save your ankles. Keep the toro. Deere copied wright very uncomfortable

I just bought there Q865 EFI model and I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about them so if you are wanting to get a new mower get the top model. I will update you when mine gets here in a couple days

I haven’t had the opportunity to run the EFI yet.
I work at a Deere dealership in Va and have sold a few of the older 652 and a new Q850R 60.
My customer loves his 850R.
If you were to get one go ahead and spend the extra thousand on the tweels and if you live in Sw Va or the Tri cities area come see me and I’ll give you one hell of a deal
I had alot of cut quality issues with my 52 grandstand. You had to drop the deck into the 3 3/4 range or lower to cut well. If you mowed in the 4 go 4.5 range it left alot of uneven cutting. I was cruising through a customers yard once traveling with a zip line over my head. It connected to a tree i was heading toward that a swing was attached to. The swing was bungee corded to the tree. I went buzzing by a little to close because id done it a hundred times. I caught my deck lift on it the mower obviously yanked and turned sideways. I got flung about 7 feet and barrel rolled another 4 😂
@joshuastrayer9958 Wow, I bet that was a wild ride! I agree 100% the grandstand cuts like garbage at the 4 inch range!
Probably need to adjust deck cutting angle

The Deere looks cheap imo. Lots of plastic.

I feel like you pay so much for that Deere name. I just got a Bad Boy Revolt 54 with a Kawi carb this year. I love this mower, built like a tank and cost me 8k new from MN AG Group.
The only thing plastic is the gas tanks? Any mower is like that
I’ve a Kohler 25hp efi 2011 52” Exmark dedicated stand on mulching mower and a Kawasaki 23.5hp JD 652R MOD (Mulch On Demand) stand-on.. both very good mowers with great cut quality .. The new 850 JD is a very nice looking machine .. looks like they’ve made some improvements to an already good machine .. your Toro is nice too .. think you’ll really enjoy the JD 850 .. good luck on your decision.. 👍🏻
