I went today on this trail, it was my first bike trail experience. You make it look so easy!
Nice job!
Thanks for sharing ! You are one of the few MTBers that’s generous with trail location. I hope its accessible during these times
It’s my go-to trail for MTB and hiking. So beautiful.
Awesome video! Can’t wait to check this trail out! Thanks for the video! Until next week 🤙🏼
Get at it Mike!
Great video, love this trail for all levels of riders. It's encouraged to have a bell on your bike to alert hikers and equestrians of your presence.
Cheers Christian!
Appreciate all these. About to move back to the area and looking forward to riding the trails you highlight.
Welcome back Jono!
Very nice little trail! Thanks for taking us all along with you!
And thanks for watching! ✔️
Stunning looking trail Tony and you've also got some warmth and sunshine which is always a bonus. Wet and cold on our side of the pond at the moment. Great job. 👍
Thanks Mark - it’s riding season here - the temps have come down but great for riding. 😉
This used to be an awesome trail but with the recent rainfall the trail has been washed out in several places. I'd say only about 70% is rideable the other 30% you would have to walk it.
Short and sweet! Good work!
Thanks Kody!
This is the first trail I rode a few months back because of this video. Cant wait til this is all over to go back.
👊✔️
You are correct about the hikers. This Trail is so heavily crowded with Poison Oak and hikers. Head to the OC for Pure bike trails. Unfortunately and this was 4 years ago the trail has changed a lot. The roots are all exposed and the hikers are mad at us. And honestly can't blame them. Our tires have been chewing up roots of 150 year old oak trees. Been shredding OC pure mountain bike trails
Great trail guide as always 👍👍
Thanks Ken - appreciate that!
Nice vid! I usually start from the opposite direction coming from angeles crest. Technical flowy and fun.
Nice! Good call!
I hit that trail a week ago with my brother.....using a ht specialized pitch 1x11 i love it...-!!!
Cool spot and great vid!
Thanks Dan!
Love the new intro 😉
Haha - met too!
Epic. Music was Epic too
👊
This looks like so much fun 😂 I have not been on a bike for a minute, you make me want to get one so bad.
Get out there Daniel!
Looks like more fun when the water flow isn’t as high the time you went and revealed some paths on those crossings I didn’t even know existed! Haha it’s a fun ride and the climb is defiantly rewarding!
👊
Rode this trail on Monday ,it was busy., fun, but bugs sucked! When. You rode it the trail was in better condition. Thanks Tony!
It’s a fun one!
Oh thanks man looking for beginner places in the LA area. This helps m e a lot
Glad to help
Most importantly.... new chime for appreciation stations. 🙃👍
Haha thanks for noticing! 😉
That crossing at 6:26 doesn't exist anymore. Now I know why I've been kind of scratching my head at that point past few times. Guess I started going out there around the time you made this. I love riding there, getting cooled off by the crossings and under the shade trees just like I used to like the West Fork before the fire took it. Beautiful places. Thanks for posting!
👊
Looks like a great hiking trail. I'll be in Pasadena mid December until the new year. Will have to look for it and take the kids! Love, Auntie Sandee
It's a great hike as well. Thanks for watching and remember, you're only allowed to hike it if Aunt Maryrose is there. 😉 Would be great to see you all this year as well.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Haha, if we're waiting on Aunt Maryrose, it's not happening! Good to hear from you. Congratulations on your marriage! Love the wedding photo.
@@sandjoy19 Thanks!
Sweet this is right in my backyard can’t wait to ride has no idea this was here cause I usually go to Marshall canyon
Fresh new go to ride for you Joe!
Love Marshall Canyon!
Your missing out on all the trails up there, just saying Marshall cyn cant compare.
Have you done El Prieto? What about the Mt Wilson Shuttle? You're missing out on a LOT of epic riding! Sister Elsie
I built that Pumptrack, sadly its gone now. Me and my 2 boys ride bmx, but I just got my 1st mtb and I've done this ride twice. Heading to big bear Sunday for 4 days. Here's an idea for a video - Bmx rider hits Snow Summit on a Mtb for the first time.
Yeah!
Very cool
Thanks Tony!
Great video.
I would like to tag along on that ride anytime I am beginner to mid but not pro like you. I am always working in the are pasadena hdman.
Nice trail
👍
Very cool ride have you ever been to the central valley of cali? There a trail on N Piedra rd Sanger, CA from hwy 180 CA Kings River Green Belt Park along the Kings River. Have you ever heard of Trimmer Springs Resort CA 1889?
Hi Tony, thanks for the videos, they opened my eyes to trails that I have riden right by riding other trails. I will have to go back and look for them. Have you done anything on the upper Santa ana river trail (sart)? That is a ride I would like to try when I get in a little better shape. I would love to see a video about what you think about that ride.
I haven’t but would like to. Thanks for tuning in Leonard.👍
I can attest to this being a noob trail. I like this trail. So far, i have bombed the hill without running into anyone, but i also have a bell. Do be prepared to get wet.
I dig all your vids Tony! 👍 keep it rolling. Do you think this trail is capable to ride for my 10 yr old son? It will be his first trail ride experience.
Thanks! Should be ok it’s a very mellow grade.
thank you
Welcome!
Awesome video, Do you ever do ride outs or subscriber rides? Be fun to hit the trail sometime.
Not yet but I will I’m the future. Stay tuned. 👊
Darn it im going to be singing "Write, Write, Write, Write, Write it down, write it down" for the rest of the day. Definitely a cool trail though!
Don’t I know it. I had to edit that clip. 😉
@@TheOutsiderMTB Oh my I could just imagine watching that a couple dozen times lol
This is the first trail I learned how to mtb on. And also saw my first bear on the trail here. Love this video. You used to be able to fish for stocked trout at that one picnic/pool area where the fire road breaks off to the left. Are you going to be doing one for El Prieto? Would love to see how that trail has changed. Your videos have been making want to get into mountain biking again
Awesome to hear Jeff. Yes I’ll hit my El Prieto loop up Brown soon. I didn’t even know there were bears in that area. 😉👊
What was your PSI on this trail? It’s a really nice trail. Love the video.
I usually am around 29 in the back and 26 up front. Thanks for tuning in!
That looks awesome. Would you recommend gravel bikes on this trail?
Thanks! I'm not sure - some of it's kinda chunky but most of it you should be good.
Yeah...but I was the first thumbs up!
I love this trail, I used a 24inch kids walmart bike because I let my cousin borrow my mtb lol
Haha wow. 😳
@@TheOutsiderMTB Dang you replied back, I love your trail guides :)
@@Sbdkckbdenks Thanks for being a part of the channel Moises!
Did you do good on it?
@@esteluxmtb5425 I did ok. I didn't get to do any of the jumps but it was good on the main trail. I was suprised the bike was fine after the ride because I hit a log with my pedal and I somehow landed on my feet while the bike flew into the bushes.
do a ride at anderson truck trail its awesome and has so many fun features
Where’s that?
@@TheOutsiderMTB alpine
@@TheOutsiderMTB you can find it on strava segments
How are you liking your Remedy? I am thinking of getting the same one. Any additional thoughts since your early videos with it?
Love it. Nope - I just feel really comfortable and confident on it.
Hi there ! how or where is the Main Entrance for this Trail ? never been here yet and I wanted to check this place at . Thank you
In the description there's a link to Trailforks which has the mapped area. Have fun!
Tony you should show these cats the Gabrielino from red box down to jpl singletrack for miles of flow"
I have a similar ride planned, but not that exact one. I've never started at red box - is that a shuttle ride?
@@TheOutsiderMTB pretty much all down hill, w/ minimal short climbs. Yes some people like to shuttle it, although not as popular as the Mt. Lowe trail shuttle that drops you off at Sunset trail.
Where did all that water come from? I thought Cali was bone dry and on fire..
Also great Vid
Certain areas have run off, but they are hard to find in the summer months. We should be hitting our rainy season shortly with cooler temps.
I bought some etnies and they are so comfortable
Good stuff Michael. ✔️
Just finished riding this
Nice!
@@TheOutsiderMTB yah it's such a great chill ride to just send with some friends
Hey Tony....did you have cell service while using the Trailforks app to navigate? How many miles out back was this trail?Also...you said you parked at the JPL parking Lot. Didnt see "description below" gonna ride this trail next week.
If you start the app in service it usually stays in that mode even if you lose it. This trail is an out and back so not so hard to ride. Yeah park in the commuter lot outside this area.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Thanks so much Tony. I really dig your channel...and Pupper Pip of course! he's great!
He’s my fav!
Do you go riding during the hot summer months? If yes, what trails do you hit up and what time of the day?.
Yes I go at sunset in laguna.
Maybe you need a trail bell.
Or an air horn.
That oak tree is slowly dying thanks to you
Eh?
Woohoo!! First comment 🤣🤣
💥😉
😂👊🏽
Is this trail closed right now? MTB Project doesn’t say, but something on All Trails leads me to think that maybe it’s closed at the moment.
Not sure - I have not been in a while.
Alrighty. I’m just in need of some good beginner trails. Even Fullerton loop is a bit much, with all those punchy little climbs. Haha
Can I bring a hybrid bike here
Not sure it gets pretty bumpy in spots.
Whats rhe name of this trail?
All the info is below my vids: www.mtbproject.com/trail/7011782/gabrielino-trail-nrt
I went to that trail and I dislocated my arm when a runner was passing by, I tried to avoid her and I dislocated my arm
That's awful man hope you're ok.
@@TheOutsiderMTB yea I'm fine thanks bro
is the pump track still there?
Yes but it’s looking tired.
@@TheOutsiderMTB i just went on the trAIL AND I didnt see it i think they wrecked it or they took it apart.
The pump track will put about 100 goathead thorns in your tires :-D
Yikes
@@TheOutsiderMTB I still have nightmares. This trail is a BLAST though! My friends and I used to do it on Cyclocross bikes. I'm glad you went on a tuesday though, this trail network is absolutely packed with hikers on the weekend, some of them very hostile and rude to mountain bikers.
"any rider" so are there options to avoid creek crossings?
You can walk your bike over them f you like.
Great video as always! I miss the pure riding sounds without the music tho...
Thanks! I switch them up. Sometimes no music in the trail sometimes music.
Cool vid! What’s the name of the song that starts at 6:50?
Write write write it down write it down
I knew the vid before even looking which one you commented on! haha
“Chasing hidden waterfalls”…..really bro?
