As a side note, this mysterious 10,000 yen coin was used at a convenience store in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2012, before it was used in Hokkaido. It has already been revealed that this 10,000 yen coin was actually manufactured by a certain toy manufacturer about 30 years ago.
It was Nichian Shonin, not Nichiren Shonin, who drove the tengu out of this land. Nichiren is a monk connected to Butsugenji Temple. However, Nichiren died in 1282. This tengu legend is said to have happened in 1658.
By the way, Tengu's apology letters are generally not made public. However, a copy of Tengu's letter of apology and its origin are printed on the wrappers of sweets sold in the temple grounds.

Funny enough I initially encountered Nichian when researching, but also found sources referencing nichiren as the person who drove out the tengu. I chopped it up to the story getting mixed up through time. Thanks for the corrections!

This makes me think about monster sculptures everywhere else. Max Ernst painted all sorts of monsters maybe Germany was ruled by aliens 100 years ago
