Mothman is believable because so many people, including those who had never heard of it, reported the exact same thing. If the first sighting was the only one, it could be written off as a hoax, but the fact that so many people saw it makes it believable

So many people contacted the police about it and were talking about it openly, it became a cultural phenomena in the area. People, instead of going to the movies or "parking" on the weekends, would instead meet in open spaces to UFO sight together. 2. Communities in West VA at the time reported to authorities unusual men dressed in all black suits. They spoke in an odd disconnected way, almost robot-like, and were evasive in conversations with locals. 3. Many people reported to police in Pt Pleasant and surrounding areas continuous crank telephone calls. It got so bad that people would request to have their number changed from the telephone company, only to find the very day that it was changed, the crank calls would resume. 4. Police reports show that people would report feeling immense feelings of dread *before* seeing the Mothman. dairo1 I think it's real, I was born in point pleasant. And my dad owns a restaurant across the street of the mothman statue. I live in mason (15 minutes away from point pleasant)
I love that this was posted. I live about 30 mins from Point Pleasant and read about the sights and did a report on the Silver Bridge when I was a child. Seeing a big channel do a documentary on something so close to home is awesome.
Loved the video! I can tell you from first hand experience(I grew up in Point Pleasant WV, my family is from here and still lives here) there are definitely strange, unexplained things that happens, especially out by the ponds in TNT. Very awesome place to visit if you get a chance! Also, a lot of the older people here in town do not like to talk about it.
In the newspaper about the first sighting, there is a little article about how a meteor shower is expected that night. Maybe the 'meteor shower' was actually a cover for alien spaceships coming to land on Earth, and the Mothman was one of these aliens who had gone ahead to check stuff out before the others got there. I think that should be a theory!
Bashar says it's an interdimensional being that is attracted to the light that is generated in the crossing of death. So it is attracted to situations were deaath is present or death will come. And it makes sense after hearing how it just jumped into the air without flapping its wings, it's not a physical being.
I feel like the Mothman could be an extraterrestrial messenger trying to warn humanity about future disasters, but people are extremely afraid of it and think that it causes the disasters.
Point Pleasant is like 2 hours from where I live, they have a Mothman museum and festival every year. The town is perfect for this kind of creepy story.
Hey Top 5,s, real talk, I was watching this video and my dad walked in to tell me goodnight and saw the pictures that you used on this video and I could literally see the color drain from his face. I asked him what was wrong and he just walked out of the room, and called both of my uncles (his brothers), and one of his friends. Within 15 minutes all of them showed up here at our house, and my dad told me to show them this video. The same thing happened to all of them, note that my family are all pretty dark Hispanics, and his friend is too, but all of them turned pale as ghosts at the pictures with them all saying that the picture at 1:40 was what really got their attention. They all talked in his room for a while and when they came back they told me that when they were all young, my father 16, and my uncles 15 and 13 they would go to the San Antonio river in our hometown of Goliad, to fish at night. There used to be an old railroad that went over the river, but had not been used since befor they were born. They told me that one night as they were fishing they heard this weird shriek like noise that they said strangely also sounded like a moan, or groan and heavy flapping as if a huge bird was right over them. My middle uncle then said when he looked at the railway that went over the river, he saw something that looked like what was drawn in the picture at 1:40, but said that it had huge glowing reddish- orange eyes. He said he yelled, and ran back up the hill that you had to go down to where they would fish, apparently he turned and ran so fast that his shirt was backwards when he finally got home. My father, younger uncle, and their friend said that they were terrified. My dad said every time he tried to shine his flashlight, or point his .22 pistol at it, it would hide behind the metal frame of the railway, but said it had this greyish-brown color to it from what his flashlight could illuminate of it. He said from what he could tell from the distance it was at, it was huge. Taller then anyone he knows, and we have a family friend who is 6'8 who does weight lifting competitions. He sad after about 8 mins the thing spread its wings, and shrieked/moaned/groaned, and they all took off back home. He said the whole time they saw this thing every dog from around their neighborhood was barking, snarling, and going crazy, and he, his friend, and my uncle swear the whole to me they ran the 2 miles back to my grandparents that they could hear massive flapping behind them, but they said they never looked back to see. When they got back to my grandparents my other uncle was already there which is when they noticed his shirt was backwards. They said they all didnt think anyone would believe them, and swore never to go back to that spot, or talk about it ever again. The whole time they were explaining this to me I could tell they werent making it up on the spot because at times they almost couldn't even speak, with my middle uncle literally shaking as they were explaining this to me. Now mind you, my family is very adept to going camping, hunting at night, going overnight fishing, and always have told stories over the campfire like la llarona (the crying lady), and the story of lechuza...but this was different. My father, and uncles aren't superheroes, but I have never in my 25 Years alive seen them as shooken up as when they told me this. Apparently, I'm the only one they have ever told this to. My father said he hasn't even told this to my mother. It apparently happened back in the mid 80's when they were all teens. This literally was just told to me 11/20/17 At 9:20. I just wanted to share it with you. Really sends a shiver down my spine, and makes me question whats out there.
Kory Perez First of all I want to make clear that I mean no disrespect to you, your father, uncles and the friend, I simply want to explain how some of the things you said can be explained. While I can’t explain all of them I am pretty sure that they do all have an explanation, but the small amount f knowledge, compared to what mankind already knows, is minuscule. Let me start by explaining something about the human mind. It is a known fact that every time you or anyone else recalls a memory (even subconsciously) they alter it, therefore we can conclude that what your father and uncles are saying is not just possibly or even plausibly, but certainly different from what actually happened. Again no disrespect to them, it is not their fault, it is just how our minds work. There was once an experiment in which people went outside in the night, you see humans have poor night vision, it is not terrible, but compared to for example a cat we are basically blind. But back to the experiment, the people were put during the night on a field (or in a forest) and for a very short time they were shown a rectangular cardboard cutout which was 60 cm (around 2 feet) tall, each and every one of the dozens of people greatly overestimated its size, on average the people guessed that the cardboard was 2 meters (6 feet and 7 inches) tall. So therefore I believe they saw a big snow owl and because of was night they greatly overestimated its size, it could also have been a barn owl, who was protecting her young, if the creature made a hissing sound, it was most likely a barn owl. I hope this explains what the creature was.
I live one town over in Ripley WV and I've never seen anything that closely resembled the Mothman. But I have to admit, I have seen some strange aerial phenomenon that to this day I can't explain.
You should look into The Black Bird of Chernobyl. In the beginning of April, 1986, the people in and around Chernobyl began to witness what they described as a large dark figure with gigantic wings and piercing red eyes. People who saw this creature had nightmares, encounters with the creature, and threatening phone calls. These continued until the morning of April 26, 1986 when the reactor had a melt down. Many seem to believe it was the same creature spotted in Point Pleasant.
People have dropped babies while not in the presence of the mothman.... so it isn't that hard to believe that after seeing the mothman you might be startled and drop what your holding including a baby.
In reality she tripped over and dropped the baby. To cover herself for such a bad thing she told everyone she saw a bizarre creature which shocked her causing her to drop the baby.
I had a dream of the Mothman a couple of years ago and i still remember it very well. In the dream it was night time and i was walking back home alone. The moon was bright and night sky was clear. As i was approaching my apartmen building entrance. Something in the night sky caught my attention. When i looked at it. It was a black sphere floating in the air. The next moment two huge black wings emerged from it and two glowing red eyes lit up. Then it the creature dived at me from the air. But somehow i dodged it and when i turned around it flew away into the night sky. In the dream somehow i knew i've encountered The Mothman. I hope i'll never forget that dream. It's very cool to me.
that moment when you just watched a video and decided to look into the comment section and found this comment so you decided to read it and could not stop reading it because you found it super intriguing then realized at the end that it had nothing valuable to say
So, Mothman has never hurt, kidnapped, or killed anyone, or anything, and even warns people of dangers. What's so scary about Mothman? He seems more like an elusive superhero.
You should do a video on witches . What people don't seem to realize is that they are actually very real and there is a such thing as black magic as I've personally seen it myself .
this is the perfect plot of a superhero movie. a man who was exposed to chemicals as a child and turned into the moth man. he could either be a villain or a superhero, it’s perfect.
I live 15 minutes from there. I had a dear friend who was waiting to go across the bridge just minutes before it collapsed. In the 80's it was still a scary subject. I really enjoyed this one being it's right in my back yard...god bless!
You left out the best parts to this story. During and after the mothman sightings some of the largest and most frequent mass sightings of UFO's were recorded in both Point Pleasant and its neighboring town in Ohio. Its also the single largest mass sightings of "men in black" who apparently went door to door telling people to stop talking about it all (While the town in Ohio did see the MIB and UFO's no one claimed to see the mothman outside of Point Pleasant). No idea what actually happened or if its just a good case of mass hysteria but the entire story is incredibly interesting just from the pure volume of people who have claimed to see one thing or another during this peroid.
Wait. This thing showed itself to a woman and her baby. Followed people in their a car. Peered into some ones front door window. But when the POLICE arrive this thing runs away!? LOL! How does it know of the POLICE?
in 2007 a bridge in Minneapolis MN collapsed and there were many reports of a mothman sighting just before the collapse. This would be something interesting to research.
Fallen Seraph he was seen before Chernobyl as well as Fukushima, and many more places normally its before a disaster or something of major significance like a nuclear meltdown
Haha, I'm here to warn you of a disaster about to happen. I can somehow sense disasters before they come. But can't write a note, talk, or actually land on the bridge in public to bring attention to myself and the problem. I have to be cryptic, scare people in random areas hoping they somehow get the message, and maybe sneak onto the bridge for two seconds and fly away. If you can't tell, I find it hard to believe whatever was here wanted to bring knowledge of a coming disaster.
Mothman, or a mothman like creature, was spotted during Chernobyl, the 9/11 attacks, the Steel Bridge collapse, and a few other disasters that occurred. I believe Mothman doesn’t show himself too much because of his scary appearance, he’s probably good natured and doesn’t want to alarm anyone, considering the mothman prophecies and PTSD people are reported to get after encountering the mothman, but only wants to warn them of the oncoming tragedy.
Obviously the poor dude just wants a friend, like damn. Let the moth man live
Kathryn Buntin That is so true. He is probably a really good guy
I'd be his friend :(

you have the best horror channel.👍
In the newspaper about the first sighting, there is a little article about how a meteor shower is expected that night. Maybe the 'meteor shower' was actually a cover for alien spaceships coming to land on Earth, and the Mothman was one of these aliens who had gone ahead to check stuff out before the others got there. I think that should be a theory!
Jeopardy Leyton look up the flatwoods monster braxton county West Virginia, it has a landing and a couple sivhyings
Jay-K both the flatwoods monster and mothman have been explained by Trey the explainer
Bashar says it's an interdimensional being that is attracted to the light that is generated in the crossing of death. So it is attracted to situations were deaath is present or death will come.
And it makes sense after hearing how it just jumped into the air without flapping its wings, it's not a physical being.
I feel so sorry for you :( you search up scary shit just for our entertainment.
+ShallowGaming he probably like it... i mean how many vids does he have about the men in black.and that IS scary.
+IWANTAWORLD yh ik but if he digs too deep into that shit I can expect a little visit from the actual men in black
ShallowGaming
i see your point.
mothman = bioshock infinite bird
I was wish songbird was real that would awesome
Songbird was a machine.
imagine you're calmly walking down the street and accidentally bumped into some chick and suddenly a loud ass screech descends on you💀💀
Great video! I've always been so fascinated by the Mothman legend.
I feel like the Mothman could be an extraterrestrial messenger trying to warn humanity about future disasters, but people are extremely afraid of it and think that it causes the disasters.
What you said at the end just gave me chills down my spine!
bionic26 top15s (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sounds to me like Mystery Inc needs to be called in
+Ben Rhodes If you mean Scooby Due...Then yes... Tottaly
But they can only work when it's a person in a suit, Mystery Inc would be screwed if it was a real 7 foot owl.
Your videos are amazing, better than all the other cheesy " top whatever " channels
No, it's just Batman in his winter-woollies!
This comment made me smile.
Fascinating! Definitely interested in knowing more about this creature.
Thanks for sharing!
Point Pleasant is like 2 hours from where I live, they have a Mothman museum and festival every year. The town is perfect for this kind of creepy story.
"Chapsssstick." -Mothman
Kory Perez Wow...Terrifying yet riveting.
I want to sleep .... But yeah
I saw it at my doorstep one morning at 1 am, getting home from work. I couldn't sleep that night. this thing is real, i live in South Carolina
+Gabriel Guillen TELL USSS
+Gabriel Guillen yea tell us
Might be fake but..
I AM IN THE MOOD FOR STORIES!
TELL US! TELL US!
+Gabriel Guillen well they are asking for the story-PLEASE FUCKING TELL US
Your speed and cadence is SO much better now. Still love the old videos but the newer ones are captivating due to your delivery.
ArmyInTheShadows That's all kinds of interesting and suspicious. Thanks for sharing this info- I'LL be looking into it. 😉
I’ve never heard that! Whelp, time to Google.......
how tf do you drop your baby
like i get seeing something like that would be awful but ????? dropping your baby???
Right? I would've clung to my baby. :c
If the Mothman really does exist... I want off this planet.
But hes good
Ok. Later.
It's very cool to me.
that moment when you just watched a video and decided to look into the comment section and found this comment so you decided to read it and could not stop reading it because you found it super intriguing then realized at the end that it had nothing valuable to say
somehow i just realized that with your comment........
The möthman is just looking for the lämp
There's a movie about this too. It's called "The Mothman Prophecies". Really good movie.
+Purrrfection x What did you see?A fire that turn green. That's chemistry. -_-
Pass the meth
like what?
+Purrrfection x Are you a witch?
BURN THE WITCH
*thinking of the moth and lamp memes got me on this vid lmao*

+Bartu Muzo Mothammed shrieked allahu akbar during its last stand.
+NoFrameHell MothMohammed confirmed
+NoFrameHell do you have no respect
+NoFrameHell lmao
NoFrameHell that's not funny he screemed christ is big
Your voice is so serious and plain... in a good way it adds... scariness to it
this is the perfect plot of a superhero movie. a man who was exposed to chemicals as a child and turned into the moth man. he could either be a villain or a superhero, it’s perfect.
Surprised this was just recommended to me during the height of the moth memes
Ya lol
The truth is stranger than fiction balimore God bless xxx❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's just a visible demon.
watching this alone at night gives me chills, but its soo good.
Steve Bottalico Thanks for sharing...I think I recall this info. Fascinating!
is it wierd that I had a dream a long time ago about a human sized bat, with red eyes at my back door?
Wait. This thing showed itself to a woman and her baby. Followed people in their a car. Peered into some ones front door window. But when the POLICE arrive this thing runs away!? LOL! How does it know of the POLICE?
Probably startled by the sirens...? idk haha
+Tanner Phoenix It was really just a black guy in a winged costume
Tanner Phoenix, I guess it had weed on it and couldn't take the risk.
It was warning people, if the police got it then it can't warn them.
Maybe it's aware and just tryna ask people for directions you don't know
in 2007 a bridge in Minneapolis MN collapsed and there were many reports of a mothman sighting just before the collapse. This would be something interesting to research.
This channel used to be so good. Miss videos like these.
just like the black bird of chernobyl.
Fallen Seraph lol
Fallen Seraph he was seen before Chernobyl as well as Fukushima, and many more places normally its before a disaster or something of major significance like a nuclear meltdown
@@synapsesuicide4372 and the Minnesota bridge collapse
What? Black bird at Chernobyl? What never heard of it please explain a little very intrested
Yeah I've never heard of this before
Haha, I'm here to warn you of a disaster about to happen.
Time to break out my pack of giant moth balls.
In all seriousness, I think the Mothman tries to warn people about scary future events, but everybody ignores him or her, and runs away in fear.
Well done, great narration.
So I usually don't get spooked easy but moth man scares the shit out of me for some reason
It's just an owl. Look at mothman pics and compare it to an owl pic. Looks very similar.
Austin Erwin Me too, to my very core.
Stop watching movies, they are the reason you are scared of imaginary things.
The mothman is in fallout 76
