  • Calling it a review wouldn't be sufficient, and besides, there's plenty of places to go for that, some of which I may have even had a hand in. The SABRE-10 by Palmetto State Armory deserves recognition for presenting itself as two very different concepts, pulling each of with relative success.
    The first for a Sub-$2000 rifle, you get quite a bit. From Mags and a bag, to a rifle that holds a reasonable zero for what you're getting it's a good launching point for a .308 caliber rifle. Is it perfectly clone correct? No. but it hits the highlights. It is ready to go out of the box? Again no, but after a little breaking in and a few swapped parts, it goes a long way, if you catch the precision rifle pun.

    Bought one a few weeks ago, Took it home with an open mind and went over it with a fine tooth comb, really impressed, solid rifle, fit and finish is excellent. Couldn’t Agree more on the barrel break in, cleaned it right out of the box then shot 50 rnds cheap imi ball ammo, scrubbed barrel and did a few passes with iosso bore paste then went to accuracy testing, AAC 168 matchkings were right at 1 in with 5 shots, hornady 168 hpbt rnds shot a .922 5 shot group then the federal gold medal 168’s shot 2 5 shot groups that were just over .5in. Very impressive rifle, definitely a solid buy!

    I picked one of these up a little while back. Mine is the forged .308 version. I have found the same "issues" as you have. I like what PSA has been doing with their stuff.

    • @redactedllc

      Glad to hear the forged receiver set remains true to form.
      The issues weren't killer, just worthy of note.
      PSA is doing good work and it shows.

    Ok, an M110 clone review & a two hour James Lindsay interview ? Subscribed.
    P.S. wish this option was around two years ago when I priced components for one of these. I just built a nice MK12 instead.

      The reviews will certainly continue. James Lindsay brought a great conversation to the channel. An Honor. Both facets are on the table.

    I bought the 6.5 Creedmoor billet version. Ran perfect. I did change the flash hider with a VG6 muzzle device that reduces the flash and recoil. Easier on the shoulder. And follow up shots. Also added a Ambi magazine release. Ringing steel at three hundred was so easy. Now to take it out to a thousand.

      Do it! Do it and tell me what you think!
      I went with the .308 simply out of prior experience with the M110, and wanted to see if the Sabre-10 nailed the feel and function. So far so good.

    I would like you to compare it to the PA-10 Gen 3.
    I have the Palmetto PA-10 gen 3. It averages 1.25 moa with Freedom Munitions. I have been at 1 moa and better many times.
    It has 17 adjustable gas positions. I think this gives it a major advantage since 308 ammo can have very wide variances of energy. Most of the time I shoot in in 1 of the first 3 positions out of 17 in order to get minimum recoil without needing a muzzle brake.
    AR-10 are all about the gas system. That's going to Make It or Break It. Ruger SFAR needs a gen 2 to fix it.

    • @redactedllc
      @redactedllc  5 месяцев назад

      I don't really have any experience with the PA-10. This was one of my first PSA firearms.
      That being said, the Sabre-10 didn't have an impressive gas block, but it had a reasonably functional one, reliable throughout the process.

    God Bless JJE/PSA. They're saving us, saving the U.S. of A. Most people have no clue the good JJE is doing through their practices and policies. BTW, I own one. I broke mine in, in a similar fashion. After 350 rounds I started handloading for it and now it's sub MOA, like butter .... with Arken glass. Best value for the dollar in a 600-1000 meter AR platform in the world imho. Anyways, #RLTW #AATW. I may try some of your upgrades ... really can't go wrong with the ones you recommend except for the glass (cost for the platform).

    • @redactedllc

      I had access to some higher cost gear.
      The muzzle brake / stock combo really improved my time with the rifle. the B5 stock went a long way.

    • @GalloPazzesco
      @GalloPazzesco 14 дней назад

      @@redactedllc I'm definitely going to try that stock, if I can find one. Muzzle brake I went a different route because I have a Q Thunder Chicken mounted on mine so .... Cherry Bomb and then whatever mood I am in on top of that but it's usually the Thunder Chicken.

    • @redactedllc

      How's the first round pop on that thunder chicken? Been interested in more of the light reduction as of late, more so than sound.

    • @GalloPazzesco
      @GalloPazzesco 10 дней назад

      @@redactedllc The first round pop is as tame or tamer than any of my other 30 cans. The QTC is the Maserati of 30 cal cans imho. It's crazy quiet on 300 BLK platforms as well.

    • @joesackmann5589
      @joesackmann5589 6 месяцев назад

      @redactedllc mostly stock outside of a muzzle brake and potentially a suppressor later on. I do have a rubber butt pad coming in, and I might eventually swap to a magpul PRS stock.

    • @redactedllc
      @redactedllc  6 месяцев назад

      The stock swap was well worth it. I was happy with the B5, but Magpul does good too. Being able to adjust length of pull fixed a few problems as well.

  • @5RWill

    With the new griffin MGL series KAC clone cans it’s only gonna make these keep selling. I’m very tempted to grab that can a gas block and grab the Sabre

    • @redactedllc
      @redactedllc  5 месяцев назад

      If you're really going to tune the Sabre-10, a new block would go a long way. The "stock" Sabre-10 block gets the job done, and reasonably, but you can get a finer tuning for sure.

    • @5RWill
      @5RWill 5 месяцев назад

      @@redactedllc Well you'd have to have a new block to mount the MGL110. So it would be a necessity. I think one guy on insta is making them but it's like $300 a block

    • @redactedllc
      @redactedllc  5 месяцев назад

      SInce we can expect the Sabre-10 to keep selling as it's a good product, it might be an opportunity to help businesses who make products to support the platform.

    I gotnone of their PA 10 ar 10 as blemd upper and lower and thing it was under 700 tax and shipped(shipping was free). After a couple 20rd pmags, and transfer fee it was just under 800. Put a different stock on it, grip, bipod and 4-16× pa optic and a lantac dragon break with keymo. Thing shoots 1 moa all day with pretty inexpensive 308. Usually federal 150gr sp is consistent 1 moa or less, but some of aac ammo runs similar. Only thing other than that I've needed to do was change buffer out for a heavier one for ejection, despite the gas block being adjustable. But under 1500 in it for all the things, including a 2 stage trigger and a couple more mags.
    Thing shoots great and results are more than satisfying
