@@aspapiroki6215 Yes they are, I feel like it is only salty canadians who for some reason never seem to train properly for a shootout are unhappy about it. No fun in watching 40 minutes of stale or nervous overtime where it ends on something stupid. If they removed the sudden death and/or played overtime like in football then I might be for it, 2x5 minutes no "golden goal" rule perhaps, or even 2x7 or 2x10 minutes and then a shootout, I could see that be a thing.
One of the best teams we ever put on the ice. Incredible passes and goals, amazing tournament.

Such a complete team. They mix the battling hockey mixed with skill and thought so well. They play like art, because the D-men are so mobile and just as skilled as the forwards, while all forwards can cycle positions. They can play as a unit.
Total Football as they would call it in another sport :)
I just love that Swedish song they play everytime we score. It says "Nooothing can stop us ..."

It was one of the best tournaments I can remember. Great crowds, no huligans.. Just a great friendly and drunk event.

Ennis Del Mar Sweden has a good roster every year because Swedish player are known for choking in playoffs and international tournaments, that’s why Sweden is so stacked every year... and you remember how Canada embarrassed Sweden at last years world juniors, that’s my point.. i wished we had this much NHL flavour last couple of years
Hope to see this in the upcoming tournament. Players with the dangles and cheeky plays and likes to find those passes in the slot to make the keeper move, one-timers or deflection. Sweden usually don't have a guy in front of the goal or by the far post for a quick tap-in goal. This team had the style, the finess and smartness. Perfect balance of skill and ability offensively & defensively.
Outstanding playmaking. And damn could they snipe the top corners. Flawless team.
Going for 3 straight golds. Canada failed 2017, hopefully we can do it 2019. Would that be a first then?

I am slovak and I think from the beginning the sweden was better but I think slovakia was very good.

Slovakia might have been helped by Jehovah, but this tournament took place in Denmark where Odin rules.

@@detskalldaltas133 To be fair USA never sends their best players to the IIHF Championship and they don't seem to take the tournament that seriously but they have 1 gold medal in the world cup and 2 olympic silver medals in 2002 and 2010 when all the best players participated

It's the same with Sweden and Finland. If their team is not out of nhl, they're not going to abandon their team to play the world cup.
A great Swedish team one of the best in a long time, no superstars, but very very high class on everyone. Undefeated in the tournament :).

Rakell, Zibanejad, Forsberg, Arvidsson, Backlund, Hörnqvist and Pettersson are basically first line or at least top 6 players in their NHL team. And I haven't even mentioned the D-men... OEL, Klingberg, Ekholm. This team was filled with stars!

The original comment claimed that the team had no superstars. But if we have several players who play on top lines in the NHL that statement doesn't really make sense
@Killer Billy also, check the roster for each championship bud. I would even go as far as to say that the roster for the 2018 WC was better. 2016 had Loui Eriksson, Carl Söderberg, Patrik Berglund and Marcus Kruger. In 2018 you could switch those names for Elias Pettersson, Mika Zibanejad, Rickard Rakell and so on. And a lot of players who were in the world cup actually played in this world championship, maybe you should check some facts before calling people dumb you prick.

Well, the player isn't magically placed on to the ice as soon as the timer runs out. There are still only 4 players + the goalie trying to defend the net during that play. Hence still a powerplay-goal.
