I am totally new to lasers. Longer told me the spot size for the 12W was .01mm. I bought this machine for 2 purposes only....1) is to create color designs in steel and 2) burn off paint to make watch dials...that is where the .01mm spot size is needed. Your video mentioned a realistic spot size of .06mm. Do you think I could achieve a .01mm spot size for just removing paint?
0.01mm (10 microns) is no way achievable with these types of lasers, but for etching in paint for watches do you really need 10 micron precision? I would guess 0.1mm is more than enough for legible results on a watch dial. This laser is not suitable for colour engraving on steel, for that you would want a fiber laser not a diode laser. Preferably a MOPA fiber laser.
I wonder why they told me spot size was .01mm.? They have shown color markings on steel and other users have replicated the colorings on steel so I know that’s possible.
@@chrome72 listed specs are 1 thing, real specs are another, its definitely got a fine dot size, and small enough for any intricate work. Colour marking is possible but you get a much wider colour gamut with a mopa fiber. For the price that nano pro is hard to beat, especially with the accessories that you get with the packages.
Awesome review!! I was looking to purchase this. Thank you.
No problem!
Honest review! Looking for a starter laser, but think I”ll go for a fully enclosed one…
@@albertvanbalgooij3503 if doing it in your house then DEFINITELY go fully enclosed
