I like this one Taryl, very nice,I'm impressed with how much snow it moved and how large of an area it was able to do on its very first run. I like the fact it's extremely quiet. The older I get the more I like quiet, that's a big selling point with me.

    Thanks for the review.
Living in new Hampshire the snow is usually deep. I bought recently and have used it for 2 storms. Works well with wet and powdery snow about the same.
I was nervous about the battery lasting. Driveway is about 4 cars wide and 3 cars deep. Cleared about 6" on 1/2 battery.
I did go out twice so I wouldn't damage the machine.
I have a big areins but very heavy for my wife so I use the big one for the end of the driveway where the plow goes by and the small machine for getting around the cars.
I also give it high rating

Thank you Taryl for the absolutely great review, I've been seeking a new snow blower and now I'm seriously thinking about getting the toro to plow my driveway which is just a little bit smaller than the area you plowed.
P.S. my family and friends love your videos, and please ask slipper to stop sending me love notes.

I recently purchased this snowblower. I live in Massachusetts and after too many storms and a shovel I had to give in. I don’t think I could maintain a gas powered blower. Nor do I have a big driveway. Great video. It took a few weeks to come in and I could only find it at Home Depot. Can’t wait to use it. Well I can. You know what I mean 😉

I bought this snow blower and on Dec 1st 2020 I got 14.4 inch of snow. That was after 4 to 5 hours of straight rain. This snow was extremely wet. I have a single drive, 3 car deep and about 60 feet of sidewalk. I did use all the 7.5 ah battery. The snow on sidewalk was at least 20 inch deep. If it had been 6 to 8 in of powder I'd have probably used 1/2 battery. This storm was way more than intended for Toro use but it did a great job. I plan to get lawn mower so I have 7.5 and 6.0 battery year round. No regrets buying this snow blower.

Well I have to say I'm impressed. I'm not really a big fan of this big push towards electric equipment but this little Toro seems like it's not to bad. I would be interested to see how the battery and area around the auger holds up. This definitely won me over a bit.

It's a shame they didn't install an ambient light sensor for the light so it wouldn't needlessly turn on during the day and waste battery power. I realize it is a LED light but it still consumes power.

      My thoughts also.
You can see how the battery tech has progressed, but still no comparison to a similarly priced gas unit even if you factor in 5 years of operating cost (fuel, oil, etc.).

Just used mine for the first time today. Cut through 4 inches of wet snow like nothing. Only maintenance item is the scraper bar which Toro recommends changing every 20 hours. About $32 on Ebay. Remember to watch the expansion cracks in the driveway. If you hit one too hard you may break the scraper bar.

Nice removal job, but after less than 5,000 linear feet you can see around 16:00 that a noticeable amount of the plastic scraper blade is already gone. If it is a "consumable" - designed to be replaced - and can be adjusted up a little my guess is it would last a lot longer, but if you want to scrape a parking lot with essentially a windshield ice scraper it isn't going to last as long as you want.

    • @robertheinkel6225

    • @wingerrrrrrrrr
      @wingerrrrrrrrr 2 года назад

4:56 looks like it's a metal auger, what plastic scraper?
Edit- oh, the bottom edge on the housing, not the auger. On my old Toro it has metal sliders on the side to keep it off the pavement as it slides around.
Usually tilting it up on the wheels keeps it from riding on the housing edge, so it shouldn't be wearing as much.

Hey Taryl, great video...I have the EGO electric snowthrower and this one is pretty similar....I started with the electric weed trimmer and liked it so much, I got the snowthrower, then I got the blower, then I got the hedge trimmer and finally I got the self propelled lawnmower...THAT's how much I liked the quality and performance of the electrics.....like you said, the batteries are interchangeable (and expensive) but you can switch them out with all the other power tools.....I still have my 9/26 Ariens gas because in Syracuse we get 120 inches of all kinds of snow...I use the electric for the back deck and carve a path out for the dogs.....The Toro seems like its a good reputable model and does exactly what you need it to do....I am sure there will be other tools that use the battery coming down the road...it really is the wave of the future....but don't worry, there are still millions and millions of the gas powered equipment out there to last your lifetime...thanks again and enjoy it
