Just bought this today... my Poulan Gas Blower finally died yesterday trying to clear the 8" mess of heavy snow. I've watched enough reviews of this one so I knew it was going to be my choice. This review confirms I've made the right choice. Nicely done review... I like your presentation style. Subscribed so I can check out your others.
I just bought one of these it will be delivered next week. I decided to get this based on the fact that it has a metal auger, and Toro is a brand I trust. I have a Toro push mower that I love, but when it dies I'll get an electric one then I'll have two batteries. Great video I'm looking forward to receiving it.
Watching the video now it reminds me of days growing up in Maine but I hope you're prepared there's another storm that's even bigger than that headed this way getting ready to touch the coast of California I think they're saying it's twice the size of the one that's coming at you now
@@toolboss8410 yes I remember back in the day I remember being a kid I think it was Back in 77 we got like seven feet of snow out of one storm the storm seemed to be a lot bigger when I was a kid but it all changes when we get older just turned 50 on Sunday I guess now it's all uphill
Can remember my father telling me back in the late 70's there was so much snow they would use a loader to pile snow off the country roads since there was no more room to plow it off. Absolutely insane.
@@jruss9109 I was pretty young in the 70s but I remember the 80s very well remember one good storm and 77 we got almost seven feet of snow I had to Tunnel out my front door looks like but the snow was much different much heavier and thicker back then I just got the news from checking future weather forecast supposed to be 68° on Christmas day here in South Carolina but that just means I make more money running my tree service more time to work
@@johnaba5683 enjoy that weather! I live up in Illinois and am heading down to GA/SC day after Christmas for vacation. Planning on making the move come fall 2020, Illinois weather is terrible and I'd like to keep a little more change in my pocket!
I would buy this right now except for the fact that the chute control cannot be reached while in the operating position, just like my 15 year old 2 cycle Toro which has a lever down on the chute. You have to let go of the handle, then step around and lean over and reach down to change the direction of the chute. It's a major pain in the arse for me. I have put up with it all these years only because it's the only shortcoming of an otherwise great machine. The too-short crank handle on this new model isn't much of an improvement. I'll just keep with my old Toro until they fix this. If they extended the chute control ALL THE WAY up past the handle, so the operator can rotate the chute seamlessly while changing directions, which I must do 30-50 times while doing my driveway, it would be a massive improvement in efficiency and safety.
Hey thanks for the great review video, much appreciated. Can you please tell me how long the battery lasts in non-eco mode? Also, what do you think the life expectancy of the battery is? 3 years, 4 years? Thanks.
The batteries srent being used much 6-8 years not out question... It really a impossible question to answer depending on amount of snow, type of snow wnd1hat batteryv using ... Under 6 inches of fluffy dnow w/7.5ah battery 35-40 mins
just wondering if you still own this and like it? i found your review because i searched for snowblowers in slush. in chicago we are getting this awful mix of rain and snow that is clogging up my 2 stage 4 cycle gas blower- its like a sno-cone maker. but this appears to do pretty well, and i LOVE the simplicity of this electric one with no rear stage and chute to get clogged up and have to clean out w the stick. curious about your thoughts! great vid!
Thanks for the review. I hope you will have a chance to review the new EGO STN2114 with metal auger when it becomes available and do a comparison between GEN 1 EGO and TORO E21 60V.
Great review! I'm thinking about getting it but I'm wondering if it would work well on a stone alley, which is not perfectly flat. Do you think it could damage the unit over time? Thanks.
Do you still have this snow blower? I just purchased this unit yesterday and waiting for snow to hit within the next month or so. If you still have it how has it held up the last few years?
I don’t know if i missed it or not but how much did it cost ya Boss? That thing looks like an absolute beast for what it is! I want to pick one up! Let me know where they are and how much they cost. Thanks Boss!

You can with 1 7.5ah or 2 6.0ah ...also another great feature over the ego is it only takes 1 battery ,unlike the ego that takes 2 ...I will compare blowers in seperate video
@@toolboss8410 Nice! I am interested in picking up one of these specifically for the Mrs. to use while I'm grabbing the bigger stuff with my two stage.
Don’t be so thrilled yet, these companies have better products, but they used these “prototypes”, to get your loose change. When the more durable products come, you’ll be mad, simply because you didn’t wait. We live in a “New Kid On The Block Society”; being first, can be sometimes “the first getting jerked”. Now as you see, this is Toro, me personally; I’m not “blown away”, so I need to check ECO( the competition), or keep my eyes in the direction of Honda!! 🤞🏿
Very true, the toro is not great as is being advertised, the chute handle is too low, the lights remain on , always, weird, the scraper bar is weak, according to toro it needs replacing every 20 hrs, and it’s not available mostly, the handles don’t fold down easily and can’t adjust their length, being metal auger I hate to think if it bends on hitting something and the blower is jammed , how soon do you get replacement auger? It’s not rubber so once it’s bent , replace , no doubt toro will bring an improved model next year, in the meantime the promos will continue
wildoneback - I agree with most of your statements, however the all metal auger will not bend. There’s no reason it would. If it came to an obstruction(let’s say a metal pipe sticking out of the ground…not unheard of)it would make a racket and it would stop moving. Some paint might scrape off but it wouldn’t bend it. It spins fast but it just doesn’t have the mass to cause that much damage to itself.
You can wait forever for the next improved model. I just got a dump of snow and it took 8 hours to dig out. I called BS on that and bought the Toro. Its still a workout, but a 45 min vs 8 hour workout, and my back is much happier.
Hey Johnny ..just like any other single stage ...if you ever used a single stage they say those rubber augers help ..they don't ..at least the ones I had the past 20 years ..this is very easy to push as it's only 50 pounds ...I'm going threw snow Ice and prob a inch of ice on solid surface 👍

I wonder how this would handle in gravel parking lots that already have packed snow
So as not to sling rocks.
