I know according to all the "Pros" this isn't the correct hold, but if dealt 2 pair and one pair is a money pair, AKQJ, and the other is not, I hold only the money pair. It may have cost me a full house a few times, but it also got me 4 OAK's several times. I'd say more than the full houses I would have gotten. I like what you are doing, BTW. Glad you're back.

It’s a fun idea you have Andrew. However I think you’ll have to do almost an hour video for single line if you want to compare equal number of hands played (factoring out variance). I’m aware in triple play, hands 2 and 3 is based on hand 1, so I’m sure someone can do the maths for equal comparison when comparing relative number of hands played. Thanks for the video! …or play 1/3 the hands dealt for single line so about 7 minutes? 🤷🏻 idk. For comparison purposes, seems to make sense.

I love watching you play. However, according to the Casino gaming commission, there is no skill to video poker. That's what they told me when I reported the casino I play at. I play progressive Triple Play joker poker. The links were off, and the odds changed so much you can't win anything. Anyway, they told me it's not a game of skill, which I know is BS.
Andrew, this is a very bad idea. You want to draw comparisons with different games, you need to show results over a years worth of play for both games. In the short term, anything can happen.

I've hit 4 aces on triple double and hit 4 aces on bonus poker and my 1 and only royal flush came on double double bonus. Ironically the game that seems to never hit the big hands is jacks or better.
I agree with casinocrash you dropped 2 suited high card to play to play the offsuited card because you believe that it’s the right play totally off my friend ! Take a good look at the video I’m amazed all the wrong play just because they say it’s the right play! I just don’t get it!!!
Andrew I enjoy your videos very much. However, your obsession with playing by the “book”, I think is not the best idea. I’ve been playing video poker for many many years sometimes daily. In my experience I’ve found that playing sometimes by instinct is way better. For instance I played a game called pick a pair and double double bonus yesterday. I stayed on the machine and after about 4 hours I was up over 4 thousand dollars. I’m not saying you method is wrong but believe me I’ve got more just by instinct than by making sure my play is perfect. My husband plays with me and believe me he makes so many mistakes but we can most often pull out something. Thank you for all your content though. I love high limit video poker.

The computer gives out patterns, and often it’s better to see the pattern and go that direction. For instance on double double bonus flushes are hard to come by. So are full houses. Why? It’s the way the game is set up. If you’ll notice he had a very hard time getting full houses on that game as an example. Every game in the casino is different. All of them have different strategies. That’s all I’m trying to say here.

The Video Poker odds are quite literally designed for Video Poker, nothing else. Video Poker is played different than regular poker, so the odds and book are only ever created for electronic video poker. There are no discernible patterns that you can exploit. There’s a whole Wikipedia article on the “gambler’s fallacy,” which is what you’re articulating. The only reason I push back against this advice as opposed to just rolling my eyes in silence is that my fear is that other people will take your advice and lose money based off of it, which I think is unethical. The only way to consistently get close to the maximum return to player on a machine is to learn the correct plays and relentlessly play correctly. That’s it. There’s no rain dance or trick with your card or becoming “one with the machine.” No such thing as good or bad “juju.” It’s a random number generator. That’s it.

At Durango, I've had the best luck on the Ultimate X machines, the single hand has been really tough there.
