This truly is a GREAT song. Even though Otis Redding was the creator, after hearing Aretha’s cover, Mr. Redding said “the song belongs to her now”. Her recording came at a time when women were exercising their might for equality, recognition and RESPECT. It was the theme song of a movement. That’s one reason why it was a great song.
