Sonya, you are wonderful. This is so positive, and yet so concrete and practical. These types of videos tend to be filled with empty and impersonal praises, but I find this to be thoughtful, constructive, and simple to adopt. Thank you for your guidance and care!

I took a “homeschool style quiz” and it said “Charlotte Mason” and I tapped my screen and said “this is broken” but now that I’m listening with open ears, I can see that it was completely right. We do the 3 r’s, with Bible and another book from either apologetics, history, science, novel, or economics.. among others…

This is highly encouraging! With the schedules, is there somewhere I could go to view a breakdown of the "subjects". I.e. is "Numbers" a math less, and "Printing" Handwriting? Etc.
    Thank you!

What do you do if your child’s love of learning is already gone? My middle schooler dreads school, complains daily about it, and doesn’t like reading. It’s all a chore to her. Is there anything I can do to help her like learning and reading again or is it too late at this age? She used to be excited about it when we first started homeschooling.

Hi, Thank you for reaching out with your questions. Our children are individual people and over time their preferences can change, they can also struggle with wanting to do what they want to do rather than what they should do. We all can relate to that as people I am sure. Here is a blogpost with some helpful tips.

Looks like there are no breaks between the lessons in the schedule. Is that right?

Hi Iwona. You are correct. There are no breaks between each lesson however if you take a look at the schedule (can study it on the blog post), you can see that a break is scheduled in the day: simplycharlottemason.com/blog/how-to-know-you-are-doing-enough/

Any advice on helping children’s motivation? We’ve been homeschooling for 6 months now and everyday is still a struggle to get my kids to WANT to learn. (Ages 8,10,12)

My suggestion would be to take a break from all things that look like school for a few months and focus on some really fun read alouds and time outside. A lot of people would call this deschooling. 💕

If your children are coming from a traditional school (public or private) it can be extremely beneficial to give them a bit of a break. This doesn't mean there is no learning going on. Focus on habits, plenty of time out of doors, exploring wonderful living books with each other as you read them aloud, going on nature studies (nothing formal, just whet their appetite), etc.
