- The second episode of Pokearth! It’s that time of year again when Magikarp make their annual trek upstream to evolve and lay their eggs. However, leaping past hungry bears is no easy feat.

I peeped that
I couldn’t tell if it was a shiny or a Feebas
ahhhhh, the return of god tier animation AND a real person doing the voice over this time? we're reaching levels of peak not seen in generations
Until. Nintendo DMCA this like the fucks they are.
For this episode it’s quite the opposite:(
Meh, I still prefer the Dave AI voice, felt so...right.
No shade to this fella, just that the Dave voice was part of the lightning in a bottle that the OG had.
AI Voice would have been better
I much prefer the David Attenborough narration. The voice actor on this video has a very stilted manner of speech, which I found to be distracting.
Fun Fact: These Magikarp actually play an important role in Ursaring's seasonal hunting patterns. The reason you never see any Ursaring near waterfalls or mountain rivers later in the year is not only because Magikarp are no longer migrating upstream, but Gyarados are actually migrating _downstream_ to make it back to the ocean. The energy expenditure of fighting a Gyarados just isn't worth the possibility of finding other fish in the same area.
Hope you are doing well, Tyler ❤
was hiking in the mountains once when I saw one coming downstream--it was small for a gyrados, but I nearly crapped my shorts. Crazy to see one in person. Nature is beautiful
Watching them pass isn’t so bad if you have a good Pokemon to leave with if it gets hairy
With Porygon Z out I could watch at leisure. The red ones were the most interesting- they’re rare, right? Didn’t feel like accidentally leveling the forest trying to catch one though.
Remember, Pokemon can be friends but they can be wild too - observe responsibly.
- Pokemon Ranger Association
Not to mention, running for their lives from an enraged Gyarados using hyper beams! Classic case of the hunter becoming the hunted!
It’s the perfect time for shiny hunting considering the amount migrating. Even in this documentary you can see the rare Golden Magikarp!
I like that ursaring is just opening they mouth and not trying to catch it
That's what having base 55 speed does to you
lazy azz bear
@@thekoolkiwiii Explains why so many Magikarp make it... theirs is 80.
It is what they do irl apparently. There is a video of BBC earth that the creator of this video has took inspiration from (or recreated if you want) and you see the bears just waiting at the waterfall to catch it with their mouths...
Though in said video we see nature and what happens to Magikarps afterwards
@@Noctaruchasing them around consumes energy after all. For someone who needs to stack up on fat before winter comes, every bit counts. If they can catch one without chasing them then they will do it. Still, catching them without moving much takes serious skills. Salmons are heckin fast and slippery. Even if you catch one ny hand, just holding on to them is really difficult.
I like the respect you gave the magikarp here, because yeah while their skills are lacking in terms of actual combat, for the survival of their species it's actually really good
I love that moment in the video where Magikarp hits the Ursaring and its face is just “Huh?! Oh just you.”
That Magikarp is spoken of as a hero by its brethren, looking an Ursaring in the eyes, saying, “not today,” and slapping it before continuing its journey. Truly a legend.

Fish slap!
That was a Magikarp’s pitiful attempt at using the move tackle to defend its brethren
Unfortunately it was not very effective
Those Magikarp are paid actors. When I tried to film some, they just tried to attack me (they failed).
LOL
*flailed
Their Splash wasn’t effective?
What you probably mean is that they're born in captivity and not in the wild.
And that's quite the bold claim for someone who clearly doesn't know anything about Magikarp.
I've fished with my grandfather for years, and I've never been in any danger when encountering a Magikarp.
1:47 "The fish leap into the air to see where the bears are." Jumps right in front of the bear's face.
Fish don't have good insurance to buy the glasses they need to see the bears without getting close.
@@coolbrotherf127 exactly. i dont know why people can't understand this.
The bears reflexes neither i feel like or moves are a bit slow' magikars have more chance of surviving than they should ngl
I assume there are so much Magikarp that the Ursarings don't care to expend much energy.
Every Magikarp Jump player knows the terror of Pidgeotto
Poor Herbert, taken away so soon.
Although the time the one I named Hecking because it wasn't the pattern I wanted got nabbed was softened because of how hilarious it was to see the caption, "Hecking, nooooo!"
My first golden calico was taken by a Pidgeotto because I didn't know that the berry tree one had that chance.
He was so young ;-;
kangeroo and kangertwo, you will be missed
It’s all fun and games for the predators until a Magikarp reaches level 20

Dang the first magikarp missed their 95% accurate tackle.

Honestly Magikarp being so dumb that it just allows Ursaring to sit there knowing one will just jump into it's mouth is great.
How does magikarp allow ursaring to sit there?
I died laughing when it almost went into his mouth first, then just lost it when it actually did the next time around
You ever see a bear hunt at a salmon run?
@@CJ-yu5uxhuh?
I love the look of the Ursaring, they're meant to be similar to teddy bears and you captured that texture perfectly!
Not gonna lie, the moment at 3:04 where the Ursaring lifts its head with the Magikarp in its mouth was really touching with the music.
So glad you got your own narrator because it really gives Pokearth it's own vibe.
BABE WAKE UP NEW POKEARTH JUST DROPPED!
Awwww, Magicarp is what every Asian parent compares you to when it evolved
True
What about Magikarp?
“Magikarp evolved into Gyarados, you evolved into *FAILURE!* Gyrados got intimidate as his ability, all you got was truant.”
"Useless"
"This is going to be the end of a lot of Magikarp."
I feel that pretty much sums up the Pokemon as whole.
I was distracted by the beautiful animation so "world's most pathetic Pokemon" hit me like a truck.
What beautiful animation? I didn't see any.
@@sidthesloth12 Water is very difficult animation wise.
I love how this explores how pokemon get their abilities and why. They were not made to fight, just to fill their evolutionary niche. We just exploit it.
I mean, they're still adapted to fighting except for that one stupid fish.
Well if in movie history is worth anything then they are. Humans who formed bonds would work the pokemon would work with them including battles. Its also seen in the anime that many pokemon battle naturally.
Also alot of Pokemon natural fight one another.
At least the shiny lived :D
That lazy Ursaring chilling on a rock is my kind of Pokemon. Too lazy for the action and just expects food to fly into its mouth on its own. Beautiful work. :o ✨
The fact that this is somewhat similar to what happens in real life makes the entire thing even more impressive o_O
its based off the bbc vid on salmon ruclips.net/video/TSSPDwAQLXs/видео.html
yeah salmon and bears
The ursarings are so fluffy omggg
Fish; Give me a kiss
Chilling bear: come here you
SHINEY MAGIKARP! Also amazing stuff as always! Great animation work and simulations!
thx! Love your stuff too!
So much Amazing skill and time put into this!
In a year you’re going to be well over a million maybe more,
Thank you, these are always a pleasure to watch
Actually making good content
Get this man to 100k right now!
This actually makes me care about Pokémon again. For that, I thank you.
The Ursarings are so casual. "Meh, I'll catch the next one."
When making this, were you aware that the whole Magicarp turning into Gyrados thing is a reference to a myth about a carp turning into a dragon after it climbed a waterfall?
I was aware but thank you for leaving a comment about it for others to learn. Its a Japanese myth its also why Kaido in one piece has a fish fish devil fruit but turns into a dragon. You see it in a lot of Japanese content.
And in magikarp dex entires its often stated how they can breed and thrive in any region which is why magikarp are in almost every game, so easy to find, and so abundant
The red Gyarados lives! (The magikarp model looked so lifelike, amazing job!)
Once again an incredibly well shot and animated replication of National Geographic or Discovery type animal show. Also still adding in small jokes.
the ursarings basks in the sun after having their fill of magikarps, until a shadow of an evolved magikarp looms over them, the last thing they see is a beam of bright light.
I see that Shiny gold Magikarp.
The texture on the Ursaring make them look like stuffed teddybears. Loveing that xD
The teddy bear fur on the ursaring is top tier
Glad they traveled far enough to finally record this. This is amazing [:

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. I LOVE MY STUPID NO BRAIN CELL FLOPPY FISH
HELL YEAH! MAGIKARP!!!
(Also, some appreciation for Feebass, since it's just as derpy.)
Soon, those Magikarp will become powerful Gyarados and then we trainers catch the Magikarp.
This is seriously awesome. You did a great job tying in multiple scenes and species to really nail the nature documentary feel. Excited to see more from this channel!
POKE EARTH JUST DROPPED
I love these and I hope you can continue to make them for as long as you can or want to. I hope you can continue to have as much fun making them as we enjoy seeing them.
I really appreciated that this was realistic without being gratuitous. I could totally see this being a real documentary in the Pokemon universe.
I'm glad that you refer this scene from the clip in Orange Island where Ash, Misty, and Tracy witnessing the magicarp goes upstream to evolve to a Gyarados.
oh boy was this hell of a ✨MAGIcarpet ✨ride
this randomly was on my feed and i thought it was something official and i was pleasantly surprised it was not. This is such a coo project you have here with covering pokemon in what maybe they do in nature.
you got my sub for the quality of video and being plausible with the story
Those are the laziest Ursering I've ever seen LOL
New poke earth just dropped
This is the coolest Pokémon content I have seen in years and I cannot wait to get through them all and I am most excited to see documentaries on the evolution habits lol

This is my favorite channel i found this year. Amazing work man. I wish you much luck in any future projects 💪🏾

Yes! I've been waiting for the next installment of this series, and a good episode too
This was soooo good, I love how everything was so polished, then there was the ursaring fur lmao. Great job on this. Keep up the good work.
You did an amazing job, your narrator did an amazing job, it was worth the wait, and i really hope you make more.
I'm so glad people are finally making pokearth, I wanted to years ago but it was outside of my skill range
This needs a British narrator
Woah, this is sick!!!! The music really fit too :D! And the animation is stellar!!
Magnificent! Kudos to this series!
You! Me! Gas Station!
You know what that means!
FINALLY THEIR SECRET LIVES WILL BE REVEALED
The National Pokégraphics has returned!
These habits are so animalistic, and well-written, the animation is so damn beautiful!
Very well-made, again!
Enjoyed this video just as much as the previous ones, awesome job! I noticed the music this time, and it really added to the tone of the video. You're just too good at this
I am curious how long does it take you to render the water?
Years
Let’s just say I haven’t shut down my computer in a long time💀
Understandable make sure it's not a fire Hazzard I suppose 😂
Bit of a tonal shift from the previous narrator (I know it was AI and so I am glad you moved to a human) but I would still prefer a soft voice. That being said I still think you're doing an exceptional job and I don't want to sound mean to the narrator who is also doing an excellent job just not the style I would like
dude, this is SO GOOD! I'm so in for "Animal Planet"-like videos of the Pokemon World, and you have quite the narrative!
I love this series! And the human va is a nice touch. Great work once again
Can you redo the voiceover with David instead?
Definitely worth the waiting, this looks amazing!!!
Just wanna say, the water looks great! So happy you decided to redo that part, really paid off!
There’s something so lovely about this animation. Everything has this physical texture to it. Feels like claymation 🥰
You're a beast and you are doing SO FREAKING GREAT with this. Recommending it to every friend of mine
Dude, I would absolutely devour a “Planet Earth” style nature documentary, that just included the first 151 Pokémon and animated in this style.
you are talented my guy. i hope you flourish in your craft and in life. would definitely love to watch more of this.
Absolutely beautiful. As always. Thank you. ♡

Woah, this was great. I actually thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for the great content 🙏
love how peaceful it is also the water looks amazing
I walked in on my kid watching this this morning and it actually stopped me in my tracks (we are a pokemon household of course). We also enjoyed the Clodsire video! Subbed and hoping to see much more from you in the future!
YESS!!! So glad this finally came out!
This was so well done. I love a soothing nature documentary about brutal odds against survival.
Omg more like this please! 😊🙏🏼 Video is absolutely beautiful!
This is absolutely amazing! And the shiny easter egg is cool
Everything looks amazing! Great work on all the animations!!! Also, love the shiny magikarp in the shoal.
Can't wait to see part two of this, hopefully, when the last few magickarp evolve into Gyarados and slap the bears ^w^. You're animations are so good, I love the Planet Earth motif you're doing, it's perfect ^w^
I hope this becomes an entire series. I love this and the Clodsire video a lot. Ursaring with the world's most gentle bites lmao.
This is amazing. this is a super cool idea. love to see more like this
You have no idea what a dream come true these are for me. I've always imagined playing a game where you document Pokemon like this (I guess Snap is the closest we got) and it's so cool to see every last one of these animations ❤
Dude, I love this! This is such a treat!
A National Geographic style documentary animation for Pokémon?
Yes please!
Yessss I was waiting for this!
You did a great job animating this. The water especially. I've heard it's really hard to animate things like moving water and rain. So this is excellent. 👍
I love the details in this and the voiceover not just being a robot
This was Awesome! Great work!
Love the standing Ursa gettin' slapped lol
This so beautifully animated and narrated.
i adore stuff like this! pokemon biology and nature is so so fun, and the work you put into these videos is sick. lovely stuff - the animation, voiceover, attention to detail, all of it! glad you're getting the attention you deserve!
The animation is soooo pretty! Truly great work!
That's litteraly the only channel I have the bell activated for.
