Good in stock options worth looking at might be the Keychron Q1, Q2 or soon to be Q3, the knob version of the Q1 is a V2 and a decent upgrade over the non knob version. Other in stock boards generally are KBDfans boards, GMMK Pro or Akko Mod007. There is also a few great Aliexpress customs that are decent. Switches are obviously preference but linears the Gateron CJ, Box Ink, Ink V2 and others are great options for tactiles it hard to go past the Boba U4T or even the Glorious Pandas are decent. Also tuning the stabilizers is a must IMO and a bit of dielectric grease on the wires at minimum to stop rattle. Heaps of options for keycaps but a lot of the budget Aliexpress GMK clones are actually decent for the money.
Was just about to bug you with a comment about this lol. Huge list of creators who focus on it here on yt. Readily available is a big problem for the good stuff, it's usually group buy and small batch. KBDfans has a good entry keyboard called the kbd67 lite (was in round 3 last I checked)
For the price (£160 here in UK) there are better options than this for sure and a lot of features that are missing that is expected at this price point . So The Glorious GMMK series boards are great and so is the Ducky (their new boards are hot swappable). I use an original GMMK, but plan to upgrade either to the pro or GMMK2 in the very near future.
It's hard to go wrong with Keychron and Akko. These are both companies that produce in house switches, and in house keycaps. They can offer a value in buying packages that pretty much no one else can match. But if you are thinking of just starting out I'd actually suggest going cheap. Get yourself a red dragon, or a e-yooso. You'll have to do some research on which switches you can use with it. They are Outemu sockets and that does limit you to Outemu spec switches (outemu, Akko CS, BSun, Huanu, and a few others). But you can get in as cheaply as 17 dollars US on sale. Even if you chuck the switches, and keycaps in the bin they are still about as cheap of a platform as you can get in on. If you decide you like it. If you enjoy changing switches, and keycaps, and if you like the experience of lubing your own switches. Then you can get yourself something better and use what you've learned on it.
I'm glad to see Corsair working to improve the K70 even though it's already a great keyboard. An LCD panel instead the Corsair logo is a good idea. I plan to keep my K70 RGB (non-pro) for life because to me it's perfect in every way with brown switches and o-rings. I think it's all I'll ever need.
Ngl I looove my k70 with the speeds. My fav keyboard of all time tbh. Had it for years and it still feels amazing. Can’t go wrong when u can get it for under 100 during winter sales.
I've got three Corsair Keyboards... the K95 RGB Platinum (Cherry MX Brown), the K65 Mini (Cherry MX Speed Silver) and a K70 Lux Red (Cherry MX Red) and love them all. The K65 Mini took a little getting used to but it serves well for my second rig without taking up a lot of space.
Using this keyboard since a year now and i absolutely love it. It is precise, fast and just very nice to type on. I got the red MX switches. Customization is excellent, for gaming and as daily driver. Quite frankly, there is not a lot that could be changed. Your idea with the status display tho is a great idea and i would love to see that. What would be nice as well are hot swappable switches.
I'm anything but a pro-gamer (so my keyboard is primarily used for typing), but my older Corsair K70 Lux has been the absolute nicest keyboard to type on since the old IBM model M. :-)
I bought a K70 and after 1 year it went totally wonky and malfunctioned in multiple ways. This did not happen all at once. It started with losing one color on one key, then another and then another. This continued and a few just stopped working altogether. The typing function still worked but the RGB stopped working on several of the keys. Then the keys started malfunctioning themselves . The keyboard logic was malfunctioning and macros stopped working properly. At about the one year mark, the programming no longer accepted updates. I would not buy one again. I decided to replace it with a EVGA Z20 and so far (about 6 mos. now) I couldn't be happier. No problems so far. Also the Corsair keyboard factory reset, NEVER worked.
I've always had to remove my windows key for games like CSGO.. I would hit the windows key at least once during a session 😅 popped it out and all good.
Bought this keyboard recently because it was on sale for -60%. Had K70 rapidfire before and really thought i'd use it as long as it broke down but thought this was a good deal since i'll be able to sell my old k70 to get a decent chunk of the money back.
Bro, Im interested in quiet, any recommendations for a silent keyboard and mouse, it doesn't have to be same brand / combo. Of course not being 200$ each would be a bonus.
some welcome features but not enough for me. I had the normal K70 and switched to a evga k15 and wont go back anytime soon.... hot swappable key switches! bought it new for 65£ on sale and currently on amazon for 50! what a bargain!
Late reply. Having owned 5 Corsair mech rgb keyboards, and considering it's been almost five years since I started building my new rig (I got this as my keyboard), I'd be pretty surprised if the ICue software (which receives updates every other month) couldn't do that.
I recently bought the Razer Huntsman V2 to replace my Razer Blackwidow Chroma v2, nothing wrong with it just had the clicky keys on and it got annoying. Only downside to it is no macro keys like on the blackwidow
Casn you test a bunch of TKL gaming keyboards of big brands like steelseries, corsair, coolermaster, msi,. razer , asus and little brands like ducky and keychron Which is the best ??
Hi Tech Yes, Please review the legacy Logitech G19 and answer why LCD based keyboards are not made anymore? I've been hooked to the G19 since 2010 and bought replacements throughout the years, but now they are very pricey. Thank u. P.S. Great review, AAA in depth and the keyboard is beautiful, u hit the nail on the head when u mentioned it should have stat readings of pc!!!!
i love the feel of the keys, i stil cant play games right since my last keyboard of an earlier gen died. this thing absolutely destroys in fps and any other games (to me it makes the difference, maybe most dont care) going to thisto a plastic keyboard it just doesnt feel...right. its like using mac vs windows, no jekyl to your hyde, no first officer to your captain, no old school runescape to your runescape. the ONLY downside i have found is that while the media volume rocker/slider thing is the best part of this keyboard (imo) eventually it starts to fail, it'll not be as precise and go up more than what you actually slid it for and its hard to clean it (imo, im a noob) at the end of its life span, it didnt work anymore. i miss this keyboard man, hopefully they improved and the volume slider is now immortal. if you choose this keyboard, take care of it and it will take care of you (and all your enemies)
One problem with this keyboard imo, the price. I picked up a K70 (just red color, no RGB) years ago for €70. This one is *drumroll* €200. Yep, that's right not double the price but almost triple the price. And what do you get for this? Not an awful lot more, RGB could have been an upgrade they throw in for free just to get with the times. The rest of the features although nice don't make up for this massive price tag. imo if you're asking for €200 you'd better offer some extras. Some dedicated macro keys wouldn't even make me want to spend this much more. A little LED (OLED would be really nice) screen instead of a static logo as you mention would be nice too. Hell, they could even push the price to 220 then.
I'm currently craving a keyboard that's a little more gamer-y, in addition to my other mechanical keyboards (Ducky, Varmilo, the likes), and the K70 RGB Pro is a very strong candidate. It's just not yet in stock anywhere.
think my Glorious GMMK Pro is my endgame board the hot swapping switches is probably my favorite keyboard feature of all time dont have many demands past the normal board though RGB dont care media buttons dont care etc. find it is mostly fluff i like this because you can hotswap and it's basic i dislike that it was pricey here
I just spilled liquid over my less than 2 year old K70 MK2 RGB ahhhh. No choice to get this now, at least it's on sale and seem like a decently better overall. I do miss the passthrough but appreciate the removable cable.
I’ve just bought a K70 mk2 RGB because I love the pass through on an older K70 which is still going strong on another machine. Would have got this otherwise.
@@rosstee I also had a older K70 (the ones with just red LED, no RGB) and would still have it if it wasn't for me ALSO spilling liquid on it... lmfao. But yeah since I made my comment tbh I don't miss the passthrough, if I can run the cable for my keyboard to the PC no issues the mouse can to. I actually appreciate the detachable cable more since I can easily take it away from my setup for cleaning and not have to snake the cable out through the cable management of my desk and all that.
@@JackRR15 Yeah it's the red LED version I've still got, I recently moved it from my gaming PC to my work machine and so I'm treating the gaming PC to the newer RGB MK2. Yeah the lack of pass through isn't a deal breaker but nice to have, I don't use it for my mouse but it's handy for plugging in a controller or graphics tablet.
I find this and other similar keyboards to be... redundant? They're really expensive, and they try to be the jack of all trades but kind of fail everywhere. I guess for the average gamer/PC user this keyboard would be fine, however, for competitive players they would never use this: 1. Optical switches are faster than regular cherry MX switches. 2. There are better keyboards for much cheaper. Like the Razer huntsman TKL/mini - many pro players use it, and it's cheaper and better. 3. It's full sized. Keyboards and the gaming industry in general has been moving to smaller sizes. There has been a shift to lower sensitivities and thus bigger mouse pads being way more common, so smaller keyboards are better for more mouse space and ergonomics in general. Just look at how popular 60% keyboards became in the last couple years. 4. it's expensive for what it delivers. This point also works for more general users, this keyboard still isn't worth it at $170. There are so many keyboards that feel and sound much better than this. I'm not sure if corsair does any pre-lubing, but cherry switches are known for being very scratchy, and I doubt Corsair is doing anything special for their stabilizers. Like the Fnatic Streak65 is a more general gaming keyboard that comes to mind. Still RGB, much smaller thus ergonomic, and 100 euros. Razer huntsman - PBT keycaps, optical switches, smoother switches (I've had both, and huntsman reds >>> cherry silver any day), RGB, both TKL version and full size if needed... and cheaper than this. This is just a redundant product, it really has no market IMO. Even if you're a guy who does not care about speed and size... get a cheaper keyboard. Like even an older Corsair K70 with like cherry brown switches will be just fine. Or literally any other mechanical keyboard with a numpad and RGB from a reputable brand, and save 70-100$.
Just go buy a red dragon keyboard. I looked up the price. Corsair is crazy charging what they do that for that keyboard. Not sure why more people dont know about red dragon.
Don't do it guys, I have a k70 and it's always giving me problems like double input with one tap of a key, the led lights don't sync most of the time at startup and you gotta unplug and plug it back in almost everytime.
Very interesting, I use the stock (red LED / Speed MX / 1K polling) K70, its great, more so without Icue! because (lighting issues &) since I've had it there have been 3 or 4 versions of Icue & 2 were bugged most of the time. Anyway.... The current is stable though. Now I use the Razer Viper 8KHZ which polls at 8K, Which is also Buggy without having Razer software running on Windows 11. 4K is stable without the software but it really does feel like 1K, You can Note "CAN" not "Will" notice a difference at 8K vs 1K polling in situations, more so outside of games. ANYWAY point time how well would a system handle the K70 & Razer Viper 8KHZ both polling at 8K on the same usb controller? 5900x You can notice spikes when moving the mouse at 8K so will be very interesting moving the mouse & typing just watching the cpu usage.
Corsair need better naming for products I have the K70 RGB and its like 6 years old now.Since then they had the mk2 and now the pro. Their naming makes it confusing calling them all k70 even 7 years after the release of the original k70.
I do like it,but if I ordered id be worried I wouldn't receive it. as I'm still waiting for corsair to send the Xmas prize I won with you a year last Xmas 😢😢😢
People do fall for the Alt 4 trick trust me i saw Warzone noobs follow bullet spray instructions and ended their game haha ppl still fall for it weirdly
Too wide IMO. Recently I came to the conclusion that for gaming, a numpad is not really beneficial and more of an annoyance. You crash your mouse into your keyboard and if you move it over, then when you do have to type you're off at a weird angle.
Actually, the pbt keycaps do eventually get a bit of a shine over time. I have the corsair pbt set on the vengeance k70 (red leds / blue switches), and after four years, there is some shine on the most common keys
This keyboards prices are truly stupid high, you can buy a video card for that or a CPU lol I have a cheap Marvo mech keyboard for years now and works as well as any other mech keyboard. Paying a sutpid high price for a keyborad dont make you better at anything, just make you losing money on fake marketing.
Those stabilisers sound awful! Rattle like mad. I've been foaming, lubing and filming a K70 TKL to see how far it can truely evolve, but it's not looking like it can hold a candle to even a cheap Keychron at the moment.
The sad thing is that "gaming mechanical keyboards" like this still exists. The price of Corsair keyboards is ridiculous considering you can get keyboards that are just as fast and half the price that are better in everyway. For the price of these outdated keyboards you can get a beautiful custom keyboard. The sound, the feel, moddable, hot swappable, ect. Don't waste your money on this garbage. No pro gamer ever needed a keyboard this large. It just takes up mouse pad space where you need all that space. These keyboards are outdated, theres literally no point of getting keyboards like this when there is just simply better and value custom or pre built keyboards out there for less than this over priced crap
No "pro gamer" as Corsair say is going to use a full size keyboard, it's just Corsair marketing it as that so kids that know no better think they will be better by buying it, just like they think using a pro players config or crosshair will make them better. Its just another overpriced keyboard with features that no gamer needs, how about they change the location of the usb plug to the left side instead of the center so the plug isnt always sticking out catching on the monitor/monitor stand when you slide and tilt the keyboard in to position for gaming, you know like the pros all do and since this is a keyboard targeting pro gamers you would think, oh yea I forgot about that marketing thing...
Yes people still fall for the Alt F4 trick. I was playing with a mate of mine and he needed to change a game setting a said press Alt F4 and he did. I actually can't believe he fell for it LOL
Sorry to rain on your party but the K70 is trash. The MX Speed are 5 years too late with Apex Pro and Wooting around and even getting smacked around by bloody keyboards and their contactless switches. For high tier gaming contactless switches are the future and MX Speed willfully ignored that. Putting your actuation up higher isnt even something new. You said it yourself, rebranded reds. Corsair has lost touch with whats going on and has been left in the dust both in terms of pricings, features and comfort. To the degree where tone-deaf Razer now has contactless switches (yes multiple kinds altho if you need that performance you are for sure a gamer and gamers dont need clicky switches) with the razer huntsman v2. This Keyboard is an upgrade for your bog standart CMX red but has nothing else going for it at a ludacris high price. No hotswap, no top of the line stabilizers in fact their stabilizers are kinda ass, no key actuation settings and it doesnt even have underglow... but they doo have a contactless switch keyboard, the k100, which is even more fuckin expensive than this one. Corsair used to be good price for good quality, but it now is just a huge rip off.
Had a K70 - had to spend nearly $300 to bring it in from the US at the time (I'm in the UK). It was rubbish - the feet are held on by tiny plastic pins that are literally as thick as a paper clip but made of plastic, they snap insanely easily and corsair advertise spare parts which they refuse to ever ever ever ever stock. The quality of the overall unit and implementation is also sub-par, the volume dial is made as cheaply as can possibly be done; overall a disastrous purchase, I can see why Chyrosran22 calls them cheap nasty rubbish. It's a toy, avoid.
once you go custom keyboard you will realize how much the keyboards from big brands suck ass. razer, corsair, logitech, roccat, etc etc is so so bad lol.

Just go buy a red dragon keyboard. I looked up the price. Corsair is crazy charging what they do that for that keyboard. Not sure why more people dont know about red dragon.
You're creative keep going✨✨✨✨✨..

Don't do it guys, I have a k70 and it's always giving me problems like double input with one tap of a key, the led lights don't sync most of the time at startup and you gotta unplug and plug it back in almost everytime.
i do like corsair keyboards, however i keep killing them by spilling beer on them
Very interesting, I use the stock (red LED / Speed MX / 1K polling) K70, its great, more so without Icue! because (lighting issues &) since I've had it there have been 3 or 4 versions of Icue & 2 were bugged most of the time.
Tech Yeah Featuring Band Aid 🤕 no Bob Geldof 🤣😂
Nice keyboard, but I wish it was a ten keyless.
I do like it,but if I ordered id be worried I wouldn't receive it. as I'm still waiting for corsair to send the Xmas prize I won with you a year last Xmas 😢😢😢
To earlier, was hoping to see the comment that resumes it ..🤔
Icue software use high procentage of the computer activity and is heavy processor user.
nice keyboard, when i kill my current K70 i will probably get one
lol no Cherry switch keyboard can be the endgame, even in "Esport" or "gaming"
Welp You could build a PC for that so that's not my cup of tea. Still mandatory like as always!
Any Mechanical Keyboard Enthusiast what the hell is this.
People do fall for the Alt 4 trick trust me i saw Warzone noobs follow bullet spray instructions and ended their game haha ppl still fall for it weirdly
My man
Too wide IMO. Recently I came to the conclusion that for gaming, a numpad is not really beneficial and more of an annoyance.
You crash your mouse into your keyboard and if you move it over, then when you do have to type you're off at a weird angle.
a keyboard that isnt custom built will never be an end game keyboard
the only good comment here
The k70,s have very heavy muddy keys IMO. Ive switched to ROCCAT , i love the way the keys are a few more mill apart.
Actually, the pbt keycaps do eventually get a bit of a shine over time. I have the corsair pbt set on the vengeance k70 (red leds / blue switches), and after four years, there is some shine on the most common keys
Oh cheers for that info, yeah I haven't shined up pbts yet, shined up a lot of ABS though!
Compared to 1 year-ish you get with ABS, that's way better.
@@techyescity ABS can yellow over time, but PBT won’t as far as I’m concerned so there is an advantage with PBT
@@manwithnolife5239 yeah, the uv problem is almost non-existent with pbtt.
bruih theres no lcd screen
Be careful with those who giveaway PC on youtube and want to charge for shipping,
it is scam!
This keyboards prices are truly stupid high, you can buy a video card for that or a CPU lol
I have a cheap Marvo mech keyboard for years now and works as well as any other mech keyboard. Paying a sutpid high price for a keyborad dont make you better at anything, just make you losing money on fake marketing.
Anything about this look innovative? Looks like every other corsair keyboard.
The software is extremely polished.
This is rare of you.
How can a consumer keyboard, a Corsair no less, be an "end game" keyboard when there are much higher tier keyboards on the market?
Someone clearly doesn’t know about custom keyboards
Ur so goofy
no
>"The END Game Keyboard?"
Obviously no.
Oh ok, what do you recommend?
Ping Ping Ping
just just waste of Money
