This album, ‘You Are the Quarry’ was Morrissey’s first album after a 7 year break (from 1997 - 2004) and this was the first song released from it. So this song was eagerly anticipated. And it certainly didn’t disappoint.
You Are the Quarry is certainly Morrissey's most accessible album, it's the one I always recommend to people who aren't familiar with his music, along with Bona Drag. Really great reaction Nick! 🙂
Great song! I used this one for a paper, when we were talking about the conflict between England and Ireland. I think Morrissey likes being British, but he's not blind to things he believes to be wrong.
Wish you could react to Who Put the M in Manchester. It was Mozzer's homecoming gig and it took place on his 45th birthday during the Quarry tour, i was there and it was immense.
I denounce anyone who dares to call this man a racist. Non sense. I have the same feeling when talking about things from another reality, when Morrissey speaks about this party, not only because they are full of conservative people, but especially for what the party did to the poor, in that country. A reality Morrissey knows more than anyone. Also his battle against the monarchy is very legitimate and, as Morrissey says, mentioning the fact that the royals don't worry about anything: "They are too far..."
- Irish blood, English heart, this I'm made of. - There is no-one on earth I'm afraid of. - And I...will die...with both of my hands...untied.. How can a single man be so utterly based?
Moz first wanted to put out a Rockabilly album when he went solo. He picked people from misc bands (my good friend) Boz (The Polecats) the rest from misc Psycobilly bands. Moz chose Alyne from the band Red Lightning. Alyne went on to cowrite many of Moz's tunes , BUT this song's music is a Red Lightning tune "Not Bittin But Bored" There is a comp album called "Rockin With Morrissey's Men" that has cuts from the bands that he took from to form his band. (myself) I've been a devoted Rockabilly fan for 40 years, Boz (The Polecats toook second place) realy The Stray Cats changed my life.

I love Morrissey's attitude on this song
It’s classic him. Saying “fuck you” fairly loud but sounding like a distinguished gentleman
This one is just breathtaking
Great song!

No idea why, but Morrissey never did it for me. Like this song though. - Heads up Killing Joke - The Wait. So ahead of its time and still epic.
Reaction to Muse - Hoodoo

SPIT UPON THE NAME OLIVER CROMWELL!!!
Ironic considering he was a regicide.

I suggest you love like blood.
Do you like video games? If so, what is your favorite game?
I like video games, but I'm kinda boring because I really only play sports games and GTA.
