- This 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible was acquired by the current owner in 2003 and subsequently refinished in white, reupholstered in black, and mechanically overhauled with the installation of a 455ci V8, a Richmond Super T10 four-speed manual transmission, a Currie 9″ rear end, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and Global West control arms. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, power steering, 16″ YearOne Rally II wheels, a side-exit exhaust system, a Hurst shifter, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, and a heater. The tires and battery were replaced in preparation for the sale. This GTO is now offered on dealer consignment with an additional engine, a removed set of wheels, and a clean Oregon title.

that rev matching downshifting sounds so violently glorious!
Perfect song for muscle car owners! No radio. Just the pure symphony of the engine. The exhaust. The downshift. And ....Everyone looking at you when you light up the tires. ❤❤❤❤❤ Love it!!
Glad you like it!
My dad had a late 60s GTO which he sold shortly after I was born in 81. I can only imagine him driving that beast during his bachelor days....man, my dad was cool.
Finally somebody that knows how to downshift Nice job man real nice
Had a '67 Goat in 1972 while in high school. This brings back many sweet memories. Thanks.
I keep coming back to this video when I think of my dad. Thank you so very much for sharing it 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vid!! Nice throwback for me as my first car was a 67 GTO that I had while in HS in 1979. Fun times with that car!
Right on!
Street sceaming GTO ...... thats what I like ....... back in the early 70s ... I owned two 67 GTOs .... sorry to say I now own a 392 scat pak wide body street screaming Challenger.
This thing sounds like a absolute beast ❤
I took my driver's license test in my brother's 66 GTO back in 1972. It had the 389 engine with a 4bbl carburetor and 2spd powerglide transmission. In 74 I replaced the stock carburetor with a Holley 750 dual feed carburetor and a dual point distributor and tuned it up. Burned some serious rubber and I would shift it manually out of low at 60mph. Fast car and fun times.😎
that was great ,THANK YOU!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good ol torqy Pontiacs
Looks like a real handful 🙃
Sounds good!
you have a lot of faith in those brakes
Sure wish we could have seen a shot of the car.
The aggressive way you drove this car from the start makes this video worth watching. BooYah!!
Hell ya !!!!!
I have a 1966 Pontiac gto 380
Damn, I had no idea these cars sounded so good. Also, was this by chance filmed in Portland, Oregon? The landscape looks so familiar haha.
That is correct, that is where our first location is.
Specs please. What engine, cam, hp/ftp ,intake, exhaust manifolds or headers. I have my dad's 78' T/A 4speed W72 6.6. Gotta rebuild this motor. I got the 4X heads with 2.11 intake and likely 1.66 exhaust valves. Did you run the 1/4 mile and if so what E/It's? This car of yours looks like it hooks in real good. My uncle had a 67 GTO convertible with a 400. I like the 66 louvered tail lights!
That throaty growl was worth watching the clip. Does anyone know the stats on this car? Wasn’t the 455 an Oldsmobile engine or was it a GM product?
Chevy had the 454, Buick, and Pontiac had 455's but they were all different engines. All 3 designed their own engines.
