  • Testing the new tune and making adjustments to my shooting position.
Covered in this video: sitting position adjustments, tuning vs accuracy, hold sensitivity, and center of gravity.
Note that I only ran one camera for this due to time constraints and a bit of laziness. The video of me shooting was recorded followed by the target impacts. This means that two groups were shot and only the second (worst of the two) was recorded.
    0:56 - Consistency
    3:17 - Hold sensitivity
    3:51 - Tuning vs accuracy
    5:51 - Center of gravity

Position and consistency is very important with springers indeed!
Do you think I would do better with a eye cup and cowboy boots?

Not sure about the eye cup but the boots are probably the best kept secret when it comes to accuracy. The additional weight over lighter footwear adds to the stability 🙂
      Thanks!

Ya don't have the boots yet Lowkey?? I have my wingtip shooting boots as demo'd in my videos. *Top Tip: Cuban heels work better with pcp's, walking heels for springers.
Ok, I may have made up the heels bit...

@@PlanetDrewdog I wished but last time I went to the cowboy festival the 5$ hats were now 20$ 😢
No way I can afford boots *and* a pcp *during my lifetime!*

Which eyecup are you using on your scope ? 🤔

    • @Guru1ofatl
      @Guru1ofatl  Год назад +2

It's made by UTG but I don't remember the details. It's fairly rigid which is unusual for the less expensive ones.

@@Guru1ofatl A stiff or rigid eye cup can actually be really useful if you have a scope with a small or finicky eye box. If you can adjust the length or it coincidentally falls at the right length... You're Set ! 🤷🏼‍♂️
Doesn't have to be for competition, if it's stupid and it works, well... It just works! 😉👍
Every now and then you can run across an otherwise great scope with a Squirrelly eye box. 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@marcmyers1465 I agree 100%, an eye cup can make a huge difference. Most of the cheap ones tend to be too pliable but UTG actually did a reasonable job on theirs.
I didn't add one to my rig until the tail end of the season and it took a bit of getting used to. Once I did though, the difference was a pleasant surprise. The reduction in ambient light at the ocular made the image clearer and as you mentioned, it makes working with tempermental eye boxes quite a bit easier.
