I think his wide stance to get low is because he’s a keeper. He is used to coming up with the ball, not having the ball come up to him. I’m going to start watching other keeper/batsman to see if they are similar.
I think actually the did have a touch game when he scored the 302 in the test you cant do that without a touch game. loved everything about his game just that final in aussie hurt us but I knew that was coming cos stark saw that aggression coming. to be fair us going through to the final was almost a fluke with a 6 off last ball in the semi.

People want to be entertained with aggressive cricket as nobody has an attention span for more than 5 seconds nowadays. Top players are thinking twice about playing test cricket because it doesn't pay the bills. England are saving test cricket with this way of playing. A lot of the ex-pros have admitted as much.

@@skrrttz he played 101 tests and was keeper 52 times. The opening experiment was not successful as he tried to emulate a Sehwag type career; however, he was reasonably successful as a test number 5. He will be remembered as an inspiring NZ captain, for his incredible form in most of the 2015 WC, and that test triple ton - NZ's first. He would not claim to be a great but he was a major part of a very successful era for NZ.
