I don't do sponsorships, sell courses, or have channel memberships, but I did create some nifty software that will improve your quality of life as a reseller. If you're currently using spreadsheets to manually track your eBay sales and be ready for taxes, Flipwise does all of that for you automatically so you can spend your time on the more fun parts of reselling. I absolutely ❤loved your listing process. Please do more SUBSCRIBED 😊😊😊😊
What is the name of the mileage app you use?

Brooo it’s amazing to see resellers “struggle” with the same things. I have a whole bedroom that’s just a box jungle 🤣🤣🤣
I snort laughed at the box jungle. Was ready for some amazing box tips, but nope- you’re just like the rest of us! Love it!!
First thing: sorry you’re not feeling well, hope you feel better soon!
Second: when you said “let me show you how I organize my boxes” I sat up intently and I thought “this is how I will solve my box jungle”… then I laughed for 5 min straight when you revealed we already do the same thing. 😂
Anther great video, thanks for everything you do!
Hey Justin, I think I'm right in saying WE ALL would've understood if you missed today & told us why next week. I believe your "fans" would not desert you from watching. Feel better & thanks for everything you do, including your awesome humor! Hope your dogs let you nap! Cheers
I think many of us resellers have a "Mt. Boxmore" in the garage or storage room.
I've become quite adept at fitting boxes into boxes into boxes so that I don't have to break them down.
Thanks for another great video!
Love your humour, please don’t feel self concious about showing us more. I’m sure that some people will always complain but your core audience love you. Us who are willing to put the work in find your knowledge incredibly valuable. Thank you
The box jungle made me laugh!! Makes me feel a little better about my situation 🤣!
That box Jenga you got going on does remind me of some Hot Buttered Soul..
I’m glad I’m not the only one that recycles good boxes 😊
Whenever my husband saves packing materials from something he ordered, I act (and feel) like he just brought me flowers. 😍
Hope you're feeling better and had a good nap! "Box jungle" good to see I'm not the only one that has one. 😆
Get well soon Justin! When offered free items to list, consider how much space the stuff will take in your home. Sometimes, space has more value than another box of items (or a mad pile of boxes!)
Hey JR - I’m really glad that you mentioned that Flipwise will go back and grab (I think you used the word ingest) the last 2 years of sales from eBay. I had been assuming that Flipwise was limited to getting the last 3 months of sales data, and frankly it was one of things that made me uncertain about - or at least procrastinate - getting the service. Great to know - looking forward to finally subscribing.
I got flipwise, and the fact that it went back two years was great. I had a lot of entering to do, but once it was done I saw sales, expenses and times of year that were good and bad. I love it!
If you have excess Priority boxes or padded mailers, take them to your local Post Office. They will take them. I had a lot and I've offloaded them at my local PO.
I have a spare room that was messy like that with all my reuse boxes. I finally broke them down flat and wrote their dimensions on them and stuck them all into a bigger box so now I can just pull one out the size I need to ship anything. I was getting overwhelmed with all of the clutter in that room, and it really helped. I have tons of the eBay tape I have bought with my quarterly coupon, so I don't mind taping them back together when I need to ship something.
Your sensibility is refreshing..your strategy/processes/money earned is probably the most realistic. Since binging your vids my sales have substantially increased. I think all too often we marry our finds and don't treat this like a business. Many thanks.
I love that your take your wife with you, I do the same with my husband and kiddos even- they find things I'd totally overlooked! Appreciate your videos- hope you feel better soon!
You nailed the multi quantity listing question. That's the exact same thoughts and process I use
Feel better soon
Feel better soon! Thank you for everything you do, but I think we all might agree to please take care of yourself and don't put pressure on yourself to make videos when you're sick if you'd just rather not. You're amazing and I hope you're on the mend asap!
I am so proud of myself! My box storage system is just like yours!
I'm impressed with the space you have in your home. I find it hard to find a place to set up for pictures but you have a great place for doing what your doing.
“Box jungle” was so relatable! I’m still laughing 😂😂😂
Thanks for providing all of the helpful info and tips! I've integrated several of them to my process. The biggest process efficiency gain for me was creating the listing on a computer, then taking pictures with your phone after the listing is good to go. Thanks again!
I do the same and was relieved to see Justin does as well. I now know I am not listing ineffectively.
Justin, hope you feel better soon! For a multiple item listing, if a buyer buys more than one item, how would you handle the increased shipping cost? If you’re shipping all the items together, how do you adjust the shipping price?
I often use image search, then click a matching listing. On android you can touch and hold on the title and it copies it. I then paste it in the search bar and remove any extra unnecessary wording. This helps give an accurate sell through rate of just this item, moreso than the picture search alone.
Enjoyed the last video..I would watch more of that type
BOX JUNGLE!!! It's not just me!
Loved your shipping video! Thank you for posting it... very helpful.
OMG the pride your box jungle made me laugh so hard it scared my dog and she freaking out. LOL. Thanks for the laugh. Take care of yourself and feel better soon.
I have had several buyers wanting me to delay shipping so they can buy other items for combined shipping. These were for car trophies that I had on auction, so posting them a week or so apart. With the request back and forth through eBay, I have not had any problems. When I called to check, eBay said with the messaging back and forth, I had proof of the request. Never had a problem. And thanks for your vids. Really informative. (My box storage is in a back bathroom)
Love that you are mixing things up in your feed! Always enjoyed listening to you, love the new stuff even more!
Thanks for powering through and giving us a video today. I always look forward to coming home and checking out a new video of yours on Monday. Your box pile looks similar to mine.
I feel so much better I’m not the only one with a box jungle. Thanks for showing us 👍
That listing video completely revamped my process and I can't thank you enough!
Prayers sent for a quick, miraculous recovery!
Blessings,
K.T.
OMG I laughed so hard at the box jungle!! 😂😂😂 That's my dining room!! Box jungle. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Contacting eBay to remove a late shipping ding will not only waste a lot of time (you will end up on hold forever, or get the runaround from CS reps), they won't remove it. Been there, done that. Tell the buyer to have the buyer hold their mail or cancel the order. If they don't respond, I just ship the item (on time). If it is porch pirated, eBay will (or are at least supposed to) cover the loss.
Feel better.
When I’m down I have my phone, going over listings, drop prices, send offers etc so I’m resting while still doing eBay work 😊
Feel better soon Justin!
Hi Jason, sorry u’re under the weather. School started so it might help to keep hand sanitizer in the car for all. Sounds quirky but it’s helped my family immensely.
I need to rethink the free shipping/free return thing bc when I’m purchasing an item, I check the price most is selling it for, I then turn on ‘free shipping only’ so that I’m getting the true deal vs a ‘shipping built in’ to the price (tho I feel a bit guilty now that I’m reselling again). I personally rethink returning a ‘not as described’ item, if I have to pay return shipping.
I was so glad to see your box jungle! I’m constantly reorganizing mine in my garage. 😅
I wish I could go shopping with Mrs. Resells. She has great taste!
Hoping your feeling better. Thank you for all of your information.
Box jungle 😂 nice one...yeah we've got a "box library " . But I think yours is better organised...
Question for you, Lets say you find an item from your childhood and list it on ebay and sell it. You pay taxes on the money made on that sale. Do you put a cost of goods value for that or put the cost of goods at zero? I'm starting to sell off some items I had when I was a kid and I think I need to put a cost of goods in since I will be paying taxes on the money made. What are your thoughts?
The Amazon boxes I get I break down and flatten. Amazon is nice enough to place on one of the flaps a number that correlates to size, think sq. Inches. Which helps with sizing. Other boxes, just are part of my own personal Box Jungle. Guess we all have one lol
I’ve missed the part where you discuss preference of shippers and shipping. I did catch your comment about no longer using priority mail, so what do you prefer now?
How are you handling FOB and lost shipping? Thanks for the videos.
Hey Justin! Fellow Missourian (though I live in MD now). Your channel has been one of my favorites for reselling. It's really helped streamline my processes. I recently had the weirdest thing happen though. I sold an item on August 19th and dropped it in the mail right away. It was delivered August 26th and the next day I received an email from eBay saying they had cancelled the sale for my security. They recommended not sending the item. Well, too late! Have you ever seen this happen? I looked at the buyers account and they seem very well rated so I'm not sure what the part about "my security" was all about. The funds don't seem to have moved out of my account yet and the item wasn't a ton of profit but I just was flabbergasted at why this would have happened. Would love your take on it. Also curious how I'd even go about asking ebay about this since all of the Help links have to do with me cancelling the order or whatnot. Its all very confusing.
Ahhh the Box jungle! Mine is not quite as big, but yep. Slowly making a dent in boxes leftover from 2020 delivery madness 😂
When dealing with multiples unique rare items, I always included new pictures of the new item in each new listing
Oh man, I was scared that you had an amazing box setup, but whew we’re all the same.
When I first started selling on ebay I had someone ask me to delay shipping and I did. I got a ding on my account. I called ebay to get it removed and they would not remove it even though I had proof the buyer had requested the delay.
Love your sense of humor… still laughing about the box organization comment!
Hi Justin. Love the channel. I have a question about promoting listings. Something about it just bugs me. Don’t we pay enough fees on eBay? eBay charging to promote listings just seems unethical for both buyers and sellers. For sellers who choose not to, isn’t eBay technically suppressing their listings? For buyers, isn’t there a chance eBay is propping up a potentially inferior or more expensive listing for their own gain? I know it’s their platform and they can do what they want, it just seems slimy.
I hope you feel better soon.
I hate selling shoes. I dread going to the aisle, I don't like feet, they take forever to sell in my opinion. How can I fix this (probably just some basic knowledge would make the category more appealing) but where would you even start. Shoes are boring!
I have a complaint. I need more videos. Lol😊
Your content is super! Really enjoy!
Question: You often speak of your family, especially your wife. Would she be willing to be on one of your videos? I can understand the children for safety reasons . Just thought would be cute to see your ❤️ lovely wife you speak of. Thanks! And the see dogs too!
Thanks again for you do. Speaking the truth with added humor
I understand you're very busy but I still want more videos.
First~I hope you are feeling better!! I backed up three times, simply to watch your comic relief with your beautiful set-up on box storage!! Great questions answered! I had similar ones. Thank you!! Awesome your Halloween items from last week sold so quickly!
Thanks for powering through for us! I'm so glad to know that my mountain of hoarded boxes is not unique. Today I decided to do a trial run with promoted listings at, like you, 2% on my Halloween items. I'm anxious to see the result.
Doesn’t seem like a true assessment since those things usually sell anyway.
FWIW: I use a $25 minimum margin, unless it is a book, CD or DVD. Those items are so easy to list and pack, I lower my minimum margin to $10. I would cancel the order on the buyer asking you to delay shipping. As a TRS, I have to ship within one business day. Now if they are OK with me shipping immediately, I will do that.
For the promote listing of 2% I did the same and have the same amount of sale so good move to do
Your "Box Jungle" looks very similar to my "Box World" 😅
Thanks Justin! Feel better soon . Could hardly recognize you without the sarcasm 😂.
Is that the first sign of a bug coming on ?
Oops forgot to say I really liked last video format .
"Stook" 🤣 Sorry you felt as though you had to make a video when you weren't feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.
Hey Justin love the content! You provide awesome tips! My question is will you ever go full time? And if not then why?
thanks! I talk about that over in this video: ruclips.net/video/1yaxC1OSojo/видео.html
Sorry you’re sick. Feel better! Another amazingly helpful video despite being sick 👍🏻. I heard you talk about donating things that aren’t selling and then writing that off. I haven’t been doing that… keeping track of my stake inventory I donate so thanks for that info! I sell on multiple platforms so is there any chance you’d ever expand Flipwise to work across multiple platforms?
Yes, you can track sales manually in Flipwise when they happen on any marketplace outside of eBay.
I too have a box jungle. But didn't have a name for it. Thanks for term. 🧠
I don't feel so bad about my box storage after seeing yours. Mine looks almost the same.
Can’t skip a Monday!
18:55 I'm pretty sure ebay has an option to not show the buyer the quantity you have. Love the videos JR 😊
Hi Justin, Thank you for your informative video's they are keeping me inspired on my eBay journey and as I apply what I learn have been able to sell more. I am also using flipwise which I like, it helps me to really see what I am earning.
Question for future video. eBay recently made changes to seller advertising options offering a per click, per sale, store promotion and offsite promotions.
My activity for past month has been notably slower-thought it was school and economy. Then I relist a mostly worthless top I can’t give away and it shows 780+ views in one day. Most of my sales have 10-30 views so this was certainly odd. And shirt still didn’t sell!
Wondering if you have looked into these changes and can share your thoughts? Do we need to pay now so items will show up in Google? What’s up with the massive views on a single item?
I would have definitely unsubscribed if you took a sick Monday off from providing helpful, free, content.
😂😂 making up for the lack of sarcasm in this one, I see
Agree - what the hell?!?
Sarcasm still alive and well in the cyber world. Woo hoo. For real...good job with that one 😂
😅😅
Here’s a maybe neurotic question: if I’m reusing an Amazon box that might have been covered with tape and labels, to ship an eBay item, should I turn the box inside out to give the it a cleaner, more “professional” look to the buyer?
i hope you better soon!
Get to feeling better Bubba. Thanks for the video.
Hello. Fairly new to selling, since March but doing fairly well. Talking about multiple listings. I had bought multiple cases of sunscreen at an auction and done my first multiple listing. Learned the hard way you have to do something for shipping because had someone buy 3 cases but only got paid shipping for one case. Just curious if you have ever touched on this. Might be good for others that do not know like i didn't. Thanks for your videos I have learned a lot from you.
Life in Canada is so much harder as a reseller. We don’t get free shipping supplies from the post office. Our postage costs are 3X or 4x the US amount. We don’t get tax write offs for donations of clothing/hard-goods. We don’t have the vast selection of good used item brands. So I’m always in awe of how you can really make a good living if you hustle in the US. But I still plod along.
Fellow Canadian, so I feel ya! KKeep plodding! Our postal system does give us challenges for sure! Donating to charity shops for Canadians is just for good vibes. At least we're able to pay it forward and hope these items find love elsewhere!
@@shanefindscomics You guys are awesome for plodding along!!
Canada post gives you free pouches for your labels. you need a small business account and you can order 300 every 3 months. Its nice not needing a label printer.
If you can use a cross border shipper you can ship to the US for pretty cheap by buying labels from pirateship.
but yeah, being in canada certainly complicates things.
Has anyone tried using the prepaid boxes for eBay? I’ve used them for personal, but I am willing to try it with eBay. In some cases it’s cheaper than the numbers eBay gives.
@@jaycollings2790I haven’t looked into that. Thanks for the tip.
Found a new BOLO I have never heard anyone talk about. Imogene and Willie Blake pants. Bought at goodwill for 3.99. Listed at 10pm Sunday night and by the time I got up Monday there were a ton of views and watchers. Sold by noon for $90. Did I price too low?
Hope you are feeling better by now.
Hey Justin, I hope you’re feeling better! My question is about shipping. I’ve recently changed strategy to offering a flat rate between $8-12 instead of using calculated shipping. I’ve noticed that my sales with a flat rate have sold faster. Is it wise to offer this to all my listings now? My only concern is that I’m from the west coast and sometimes shipping an item to the east side can be more than $8-12. Your advice has really changed my business so thank you!
You mentioned a few videos ago that you use a mileage tracker. Which one do you use and are happy with?
Hey Justin, love the informative content. Here's my question: I've been selling on eBay since June of '22. Within the span of a couple months I started getting daily sales (usually multiple items a day) and that stayed fairly steady up until I decided to open a store. Once I opened my store, I didn't have the extra time to do much thrifting or sourcing in general. Long story short, my store closed down in May of this year, after a year of being open and I have been back to steadily sourcing and listing on a consistent basis. However, my sales are still extremely horrible (I'm lucky to get more than one sale a week) and I can't figure out why. The quality of the items I source has actually improved since the early days. Have I royally pissed off the eBay gods and will forever suffer this plight, or is there something I should be doing to bring back my daily sales? Please help. eBay was my only source of income and now I'm having to look for a regular job so I can pay my bills (at the peak, I was doing about $3k in net profit).
Promoted listings always works for me. I find mine at the top
My box jungle looks like yours. I don’t feel so bad now.
Same 😊 but I’ve nvr yet, bought a box. I’ve had some from shopping and my local store gives all sizes for free. Money saved ☺️
hey! he stole my box jungle concept!! I'M SUING
Ohhhh I can not with the boxes. I break mine down and store in bigger boxes. I laughed out loud for real.
Hey Justin,
I hope you feel better sooner than later! I’m a long time (with a few years inactive) reseller. I have a barn (3000 square foot) FULL of stuff; toys, tools the usual stuff. Problem is not much of it is selling. I’m doing everything right, aside from time of year. Thinking I should fortify my supply, going to estate sales - how do you buy stuff from them? Most don’t wiggle on price, and even on the last day and half off, it’s still a reach. Thoughts?
I’ve got an entire video on estate sale strategy! The ULTIMATE Estate Sale Guide for eBay Resellers (2024)

With regards to the customer who buys an item and wants a delay in when it is shipped - I think ebay regards an item as shipped when you buy the shipping label. Could you buy the shipping label, get the item packed up and ready to ship, and then just not take it to the post office for a few days? Would that work? Or does ebay have some policy that you must take it to the post office in a certain number of days from when you buy the shipping label?
When it comes to listing inventory, your space is limited. Even if you receive stuff that is free, it takes time and storage.
Sorry I hope You feel best later.
Thanks 🎉
You can print the label and then not ship it. Ebay will think you shipped it
Not true. They monitor both the printing of the label AND the initial scan of the USPS. I thought I was safe and did that. Wound up with a ding. Within the explanation, generation of label and USPS scan date were inconsistent and considered late. I appealed, but was denied-even with documentation from buyer (all communication through eBay). I will not hold shipping ever again.
Hi justin, here's my question. How do you price a cost of goods on an item you got for free for taxes purposes. Thanks
Hey Justin, been watching for a while. I need help finding the video where you gave info on how to find the newest listings on fb. Please point me in that direction.
How do you handle an item that is not working (i.e. For parts or repair) when the appropriate category only offers New and Used options? I recently ran into this problem with a vintage wind-up toy. No other category that was anywhere close to this offered a Parts or Repair condition option. So I ended up listing it in an eBay Motors category so I could select a condition of For Parts or Repair. Obviously not my preferred option. Or do you just risk it with disclaimers in the title, Used condition description and the Full description areas?
Get well soon Justin 🤧
Is Monday like leg day? Can't skip Monday leg day?!?
🤣🤣🤣Monday is in fact leg day!!!
I wish eBay would allow you to delay shipping at the buyer’s request

Probably because I'm Scottish I noticed the saltire flag hanging in the corner. What's the relevance or did you just like the look of it?
Question for you Justin, I've sent out 100 packages this month and 3 of them are in "In transit to next facility" limbo in USPS tracking. I've had to refund them all and issue missing mail searches. One of 3 that I've refunded (so far) ended up at the final destination after they had been refunded. How do I avoid this in the future and am I just at the mercy of the buyers if it gets delivered after a refund?
