Yummy! i can't wait to make these manjus. I love that you use the purple sweet potatoes which made it special. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe and your written instructions. I think all recipe viewers very much appreciate it when there is a written instructions instead of just the ingredients. You're the best!
We used to get a "foil yaki" it was filled with sweet lima bean paste with a flakey dough.. they don't sell it anymore..i gotta try to recreate it using your dough!🌺
Man I need to try making these. When I lived in Hawaii I'd get these packs of apple manju from Don Quijote all the time. I bet the home made ones are even better. There was also this place at Shirokiya before it moved that had something like these, though I'm not sure if they were the same. The outside made me think more like pie crust or perhaps some kind of cookie, but the fillings were similar and the shape? Might have just been a variation or something else entirely. I was so sad when they were gone. I wish I could figure out how to make those.
Purple sweet potato? Is this like ube? Or are they different ingredients? Either way, you got me sold on this and the coconut fillings 😋 they both looked tasty ( much better than something from like Dunkin donuts)
After baking some Manju, I had some leftover crust/dough. I used it to bake open face apple pie and it came out perfect and delicious. So for the shell, I want all viewers of Keeping It Relle, to know that you can also use the shell recipe for your crust in making pies and it is delicious.

Yum! Question what do you do with the leftover egg whites? Ps loving your recipes. Keep them coming!
Meringue, macarons, lots of different baking options. But really easiest is just toss it in an omelet.
Mahalo for your show. Really enjoy it! 🌺

Ube is a purple yam. Different than a purple sweet potato. But both would work well for manju.
Looks yummy sis
Thank you
These look so delicious. Can you use different fillings?
Sure can. Here in Hawai’i some of the popular ones are coconut, apple, custard, read/white bean paste, chocolate.
@@KeepingItRelle Oooh, Apple and custard sound so good!
Agreed!
Yum! I've got to try this recipe!
Thank you. It's quite yummy.
What is the amount of the ingredients because that really looked good and I wanna surprise my family.

Does anyone have a recipe for coconut filling for this? I can't find it anywhere online. I like the Homemaid Bakery style coconut filling for manju
I need to get that one up too.
This is like hopia
👍
Would you say this is like Home Maid Bakery? I'm looking for a copycat cuz that stuff is getting expensive and I don't live there anymore
Yes. You can swap out the fillings for any ones you'd like.
How many ounces of sweet potato would get 1.5 cups?
Eek sorry I’m not sure. I’d have to go weigh it out.
Great video except doesn't have amount needed per ingredient. Mahalo
