      I understand what you mean but its actually sexist, Men will have a hard time in sales because we're not as sexually appealing? Is this why female sportscasters get jobs theyre unqualified for? It's sexist to yourself, I know, it sounds fucked up but it is. rock paper tits, tits always wins. but when they already have the whole world in their hands, it shouldnt be that way.

    Very nice boat similar in layout to the Hunter 50. My only real beef and it is with all Jeanneaus is the cheap looking contractor grade blond interior wood. Other than that well done. Ialso like that although it is a production boat there are choices. The only other issue of course and this is constant across almost all boat walk throughs is that the presenters keep forgetting, IT'S A BOAT NOT A WATERFRONT CONDO Show me the engine, the bilge, tankage, where are the through hulls and how are they accessed, eletrical system same thing. Access, access, access is the key to running and maintaining a boat (especially out on the water away from port) for WHEN stuff breaks or otherwise malfunctions.

    • @charlesbrown400
      @charlesbrown400 7 лет назад +5

      Agree about the interior color. The sandy blonde wood looks cheap.

    • @fuckingSickOfCreepyG
      @fuckingSickOfCreepyG 7 лет назад +11

      Nah, it's a choice. A lot of people me included prefer lighter colours inside, it can get rather dark especially in cloudy weathers like those of Northern France and the UK (important markets for this boat).

      I guess we could go to a boat show/dealer for all the details. but I agree, more sailing info, less condo salesmanship. nice video all around. I was told that serious buyers go to shows and showrooms. it's going to be hard to get a boat built in the next 2 years, with all the storms and hurricanes. My broker told me to look for a good used boat.

    Should have shown a few photo's with spray hood (dodger) and bimini in place, because that is how 99% of these will end up. But really, for a production boat in this price range, it's a fine boat. You can buy two or three of these for the price of one Amel. Maybe 4 to 1 if comparing to a Discovery, and easily 7 to 1 for an Oyster... compare apples to apples in a given price range, and this boat is a great compromise, price wise.

      I agree with most comments but not the price comparison, a fully loaded Jeanneau yachts 51 is best part of half a million pound plus, a similar Hallberg Rassy or Oyster would be three times at one point five million, still good value for money with the Jeanneau. Not the seven to one as suggested.

    the patented platform - great. the galley's placement - mmmh. optional extendable table for seat on starboard? gimmicky. dustpan and storage for a couple of bottles under floor? gimmicky. moveable seats at wheels - good. but doors sound flimsy when opened; indeed, the finish of panels and such likes feels overall flimsy. access to deck for aft starboard room for skipper very very good. nice effort, but trying to hard in places.

    Great boat, as usually. But no one word about motorization, autonomy, water and fuel tanks, draught, usability, single handed sailing aids, winches and stern usability, power generators and panels, batteries, unsinkable construction, self righting capability, keel, rudders, under wind performances... Is this a boat made for sailing or a cottage made to stay in a dock??? I'd like a more sailing oriented tour, than a living one. I had to look for other videos, to have this most important informations.

      @donaldfafard 7 лет назад +2

      i'm a total noob to boating, *modsurgeon*.
      could you please explain why you prefer a mono over a cat if far out traversing long distances?
      throw in as much info as you feel as i'm in the sponge stage right now, just trying to learn as much as possible.
      we don't need multiple heads or bedrooms and such.
      much rather have a little gym where a bedroom would go and IF someone decides to tag along, then the couch/table is always available for sleeping.
      we are mainly thinking live aboard with of lots of island hopping then a big ocean crossing, then island hopping and another ocean passage etc.
      we really have ono idea what we will like until we just do it but that should give you an idea of were we're coming from.
      we aren't entertainers and if a relative or two tag, along then one bathroom and the couch/table with a couple of sleeping bags will suffice.
      in that scenario, what size mono and what size cat would you suggest?
      thanks for any info you might pass along.
      take care,
      donald.

    Pity one of the design themes was to ignore the fact that it can rain, gets too sunny and too cold when one is out sailing. NO PROTECTION FOR THE PERSON ON THE HELM... Pity the French can't design a decent boat with a sheltered helm without having to use an aftermarket canvas dodger.

    • @simulacrae
      @simulacrae 7 лет назад

      Isn't a dodger an optional upgrade when purchasing the boat? But yes, these Jeanneau boats seems to be aimed towards the rich taking their boat out for the weekend or lounging at the dock with their friends.

    • @yachtcastor

      I think you have got that wrong Christopher, most sailing boat builders, French or otherwise offer a dodger and bimini as an optional extra, and almost all purchasers opt for them, so all I can imaging is you are implying that all sailing boats are aimed at rich people entertaining their friends at the dock. If you don't like the boat well that's your prerogative but please don't make silly comments about subjects that it seems you have very little knowledge.

The second you invite someone to go out sailing for the weekend they are going to the closest weather sight, if it shows a cloud your going to get call something came up we can’t make it. So you have the 2 to 3 million U.K. sterling to buy a none (as you say) IKEA furnished boat, this one stands in fully loaded at about 500,000 sterling.

    Most comments go like this: Dude mentions the female in the video, other dude gets offended and calls first dude sexist and a few more comments later some other dude mentions winning the lottery. And I'm sad enough to leave a comment for a 4 year old post. What did the world come to these days :)

    Beautiful boat and looks like a fun fair-weather coastal cruiser, but for blue-water cruising having the helmsman's butt literally hanging in the wind would worry me.

      Obviously you don’t sail, nobody spends time steering a sailing boat, the autopilot is far more accurate, sitting under the spray hood keeps one well protected in any weather conditions.

    What happened to real sailing? This might as well be a luxury motor cruser!

    I appreciate it is a nice boat, but would much rather have the stability of a catamaran.

      Are you implying that all the mono hulls that have sailed the seas for thousands of years aren't stable, and only catamarans offer stability! All boats are a compromise including cats, catch a cat under the wrong conditions and you can invert them. You prefer cats to mono hulls, thats your choice, your comments imply this boat isn't stable. Please if you want to make a comment compere apples to apples so to speak.

      yachtcastor A large cat is more stable than this in rough seas, it isn’t debatable. That wasn’t even controversial lol. The internet is full of contrarian clowns. 😂😂

      When you get knocked down in the mono it's a big pressure valve, tilts over, wind slides past. Cat you over load your rig, blow out your sails, or run it conservatively, putting up a much similar performance to a mono, often. I love the lean & gentle motion of a heavy displacement mono; but perhaps you dont.

    the life-raft under the cocktail table is dangerous. if you need to abandon ship in a hurry you can be distracted. "the hull is breachde, quick Garry, pull out the life raft. - One moment mate, i want one last martini but can't find the olives"
    I love the boat.
