    people making fun of the way he speaks, you know English is his second language right?... so why not congratulate him and make a nice comment about the boat...

    • @Azazelwalk
      @Azazelwalk 8 лет назад +19

      Nah. English is my second language too. There's no reason for this. They were trying for a "euro accent" type review or something when choosing this guy. Sorry... Didn't work. I'd be real nice to him if I met him and all(have a drink with him have a merry time etc), but he doesn't have the chops for oral reviewing. It's not a question of it being a second language really. He'd probably fumble around with his words in French too. Oratory or public speaking skills is the issue. Listen to a candid speech from Canada's current prime minister and you'll see what I mean. He's perfectly bilingual (French/English) and still sounds like a Neanderthal when addressing a crowd. It's an affliction. 👍

      You definitely never heard a French (from France) speak in english. @matthew

    • @Azazelwalk
      @Azazelwalk 8 лет назад +4

      +OCsailing I've heard them. Known them. Etc... There's like maybe 20k of them here in Quebec. still... Doesn't matter. My point is: it's not the language. C'est le débit. L'art oratoire. Doesn't matter what language you choose to speak in. Choose your words, slow down, and execute.
      You misunderstand me.

    • @Ferelmakina
      @Ferelmakina 8 лет назад +8

      +Matthew Shank Don't be so judgemental, pal. It works both ways...

    • @Azazelwalk
      @Azazelwalk 8 лет назад +3

      +Fernando Romera you just dont get it.
      C'est homme est à leurs emploi. Et il a probablement stipuler qu'il voulait faire la démonstration lui-même. Mais, ce n'a aucune affaire avec la LANGUE! Son problème eat sont débit. Son ÉLOCUTION.
      Get it through your thick sculls! I'm not insulting the poor guy... Just pointing out he needs oratory training. It's not a language barrier thing! It's an oratory thing!
      If he was a Saxon? He'd fumble.
      If he was an Anglo? He'd fumble.
      If he was an Arab? He'd fumble.
      My point is about presentation. It's a million dollar boat man! Jeez! Get a professional to review it.
      That is all.

    Absolutely love this line of sail boats. I also want to throw in here that his voice and manner is fine with a English only yank and engineer who can tell you he is not a sales person but someone from the management or design side. Knows the boat, the important features for a short video and completely clear to me!

    This is certainly a high quality yacht. I wish Garcia had created a layout with an engine room as spacious and as of easy access as the Amel/Discovery/Oyster though. The same goes for the heads. Then we’d have an almost perfect yacht, in my opinion of course. Thanks for the video.

    This is the perfect ideal SV Yacht...It will outlast most owners and go anywhere. This one is also rated as an ice breaker to a small degree. With wind, solar and hydro you have all the power you would ever need without a generator, although I would still want a generator as a redundant backup. He didn't touch on an A/c Unit which I would think would be needed in tropical humid area's, but I am sure its an option. Beautiful Yacht and a can go anywhere Sailing vessel (SV)

    • @squarehead7246
      @squarehead7246 5 лет назад +1

      I would upgrade the batteries/solar - use an electric motor (Torqeedo) - why not go as green as you can?

    • @kentwood2914
      @kentwood2914 3 года назад +1

      Shawn,...need a generator as back up to the force of the water, wind and solar? I think the only reason people think we need diesel generators and engines is because fossil fuel won the battle in the early 1900s when people were already designing electric cars.

    I like how practicality is kept in focus, while a british would scream for more natural light and sun, these guys thought of how to keep the saloon cool while maintaining visibility. Not necessarily what many buyers want but it is what they need. Other things are less thought through, the galley may have been influenced by regatta sailors, more for fast meals of low quality, less for a month of mid ocean quality time.

    Great boat, but still trying to find a RUclips review of the Garcia's where they put some time in to the engine room. Seems like a bit of wasted space on the sugar scoop area that could have been used for maybe more aft lockers or more interior aft cabin space, and wonder also if twin helm is really that important on a 52' Expedition sailboat,, when you look at the design of the HR 54 as example. I could imagine more support on the Arch for solar panels and make it more robust, and a better design for the tender lifting device as that system doesn't look very heavy duty.

    An absolutely beautiful boat. I think these Exploration designs are probably the best out there. My one complaint was that when looking around below deck, it was very hard to get a feel for where the berths were. The camera needs a wider angle lens so we can see the layout better. I couldn't tell if the forward berth was parallel or right angles to the boat and were is the second berth they looked at? I thought it was port, aft, but then there seemed to be another room port, aft with access to the rudder mechanism. Just a bit hazy about the layout inside.
    (Guess I'll have to go to the website to find out.)

      @Eddie Murray because "superyacht" isn't defined by it's pricing. And if it would be by price, this Garcia 52 wouldn't be a superyacht.
      Common view on this topic says, that superyachts starting almost at a size of 100/130 feet.
      1.000.000 for a yacht around 52 feet, especially with a aluminium hull, full equipped, isn't a "super" money. It's common pricing.

    I think I’d be comfortable with this boat. As we Aussies say, it’s built like a brick shithouse and it’s superb engineering is obvious. The fact that it owes its DNA to Jimmy Cornell and has Pete Goss’s tick of approval speaks volumes. If the GE45 is a Landrover with a BMW interior, then this is an M1 tank with the BMW fit out. I’d love one.

    Hi Garcia Yachts, our absolute favourite sail boat, will contact you to place an order as soon as our Lottery win is deposited in our bank 🙂. In the meantime a couple of questions, Firstly, the sinks in the heads, the fashion of fitting raised sinks needs to stop, very dangerous when used at sea especially when rough, one slip and you could have a serious head injury. Secondly, what treatment do you give the aluminium to stop it corroding? I’m more than happy if you want to pencil us into your production schedule pending our change in fortunes. Will be in touch 🤩

    my concern , the stern of the design would act like a great scoop for a breaking, following sea wave that would crest. how does the design get rid of all that water, fast ?

      I always heard that concern from old salts 30+ years ago about "those modern" boats. But 30+ years later I've never heard one person say they had a problem because of that issue with the transom and if it were a true problem, the most advanced racing boats in the world would not race across oceans and the southern around the world passage with these transoms,, but they do all the time.

    if this thing was about 5-7 ft longer, and had one steering wheel inside the cockpit like an Amel, this boat would be perfect

    Hi, wondering with the cabin water tight doors: in a worse case scenario and someone is locked in cabin with water tight doors and boat capsizes-is there a way to escape the cabin or a way to get air into cabin?

      Most boats like this will right themselves in the event of a capsize. The water proof bulkheads keep it from sinking in the event something pierces the shell.
