  • Alex works to raise the sunken side, and replace the rotten posts on this 50+ year old pole barn on their new property.
The pole barn had a tree fall on it decades ago and it has been deteriorating since.
Alex and Emily hope to restore it and repurpose it as a livestock barn for spring goats!
In Part 3, Alex and Emily finish most of the girts and bust out a bunch if the siding on the barn.

Thanks man! It’s a butt kicker and there is so much still to do, but it feels really good to save it. Surprisingly cheap too. Looks like all said and done I should be somewhere around 6k including paint, stalls, hay loft and everything!

Coming along great! Although I feel a more accurate description may be "rebuilding in place" 🤣🤣

Seriously, at what point does it just become a new building?

What type of siding are you using ?

T1-11 by LP Siding that is pre-primed.

@@TarshaHomestead thanks ! I’m looking to enclose my pole barn / car port the same way (something that doesn’t require sheathing). I am between T1-11 and LP smart siding(engineered panels, curious if you have ever used the smart siding?

Yes, the LP Smart Siding is what we used, sorry! I prefer it over the regular wood panels.
