@@no-rq7fp they used good grammar they said “they” because they didn’t know if they were a boy or a girl. And the word “their” means a possession of something and it was “their” stroke so I think *you’re* on it
@Doodie yeah it’s pretty trippy, but unless you’re doing like 500 ugs+ which is A LOT and not something I would recommend anyone to do, you probably won’t see visuals like this. It would just probably feel like this you feel me?
I read that the avalanches we're going to make a film which they called "like Yellow Submarine, but hip-hop". Sadly, there were financial issues and only part of the film got made. I suppose this is a clip from the project. It does resemble it quite a bit, though.
I like the part where they get on the subway and move around, it hits different than when they say it gets on the subway and moves around which is entirely different to when they get on the subway and move around
The video reminds me a lot of Jim Henson's drawings and designs for muppets. This is basically kinda like a 70s sesame street animated short with Ralph Bakshi sensibilities.
Not sure if anyone's picked up on this but, the song is called SUBWAYS and the main song sampled is Graham Bonnet's Warm RIDE. Like a train carrying passengers to station to station, it's as if Warm Ride carries this song.
This video is truly timeless. If this were released in 1970 you would have believed it, same with 2011. There is nothing that gives it away about "when" it was made, therefore making it a true classic.
Wonderful!!! I really felt like this was a perfect interpretation of the song. It has a lot of the same themes and feel to the album as a whole as well. AWESOME!!
Fucking listened to this song on repeat when I had salmonella and was sick non stop, you don't know how painful it is for this potentially harmless yet repetitive song looping in your head for days
I've listened to "Subways - Avalanches" and "The Less I Know the Better - Tame Impala" for a while now.. never in the same week. Today I was searching for that beat.. I love it so much.. realized that BOTH THESE SONGS HAVE THE SAME SOUND? This one was published a year later, and is subtle, but I like it a lot more.
Oh yeah, this is definitely meant to be watched while tripping. I bet they were animating this based on a trip themselves haha- plus the music fits it absolutely perfectly.
This song is really good, but this video is a work of art.
Whoever made this video was off the fucking planet.
Mrzyk & Moriceau made the video, check them out they are amazing artists and have done a handful of videos for other bands as well ☮
2:06 the guy/woman on the left with the boobs makes me question their sanity though.
and lived to show us,
thankfully.
あかんこれ、中毒になる。
この曲といい、このアニメーションといい。
毒と言うか、風刺と言うかこの世界観はスゴイ!
This clip is utterly Fantasmagorical 🤠
I feel like this album didn't really get as much recognition as it should have
Nice Thundercat profile pic
Definitely, although imo the first half is way better than the second, unfortunately
like the thundercat pic
@@strohhutxP yeah, but park music-wozard of iz is just astounding
The new one is going to EXPLODE!!
Warmm ride
what a way to get introduced to the avalanches lol
Styles P'yall my introduction to the was frontier psychologist
there is a lot to explore :) have you fell in love with the first album ?
GO LISTEN TO THEIR FIRST ALBUM. NOW
dude ive literally never heard another song of the avalanches
@@stickydeathandthesilverspo1339 you haven't heard Because I'm Me?
I don't see how anyone can hate this video. It's kinda funny and there's so much going on.

just like the subway
listening to Avalanches gives me nostalgia of times I didn't even was alive

Holy shit, ive been saying exactly this
Yes, Mr Avalanches, I, too, have tripped on a train, and it is exactly like the two-minute mark of this documentary.
Thanks for the trip, Avalanches.
I've tripped on the NYC Subway and can confirm: this is exactly what it's like.
is this what this video is supposed to be?
@Doodie yeah it’s pretty trippy, but unless you’re doing like 500 ugs+ which is A LOT and not something I would recommend anyone to do, you probably won’t see visuals like this. It would just probably feel like this you feel me?
This Is the best Video on THE Interweb & in me PC-Computer!
The Interagency would encourage it continueZ.
I miss the 2010s when indie music slapped like this
Sampled from Bee Gees Warm Ride. Late 70s. It was also on their brother, Andy Gibb’s album, After Dark.
cool on how music years ago are better than music today
You know this song was released in 2016, yeah?
This song makes me so happy! I just want to burst into a dance and a smile at work when I hear it. Maybe even sing along to it!
This is like a mix of Yellow Submarine and the Paranoid Android music video.
the train driver is the blue meanie

+TheAwesomeH
the music is ripped straight from Warm Ride by Graham Bonnet
it's a bit too happy for me at the minute I've been listening to the other side of weird music, stuff like Lucid Rivers and Slint lol
I just came for the “Gettin’ jiggy with it” sample 🙌🏽
I like the part where they get on the subway and move around, it hits different than when they say it gets on the subway and moves around which is entirely different to when they get on the subway and move around

Look like old MTV movies, nice!
Oh my God that bass is funky af!
Yessss fucking groovy 😩
This reminds me-
I haven't been taking enough drugs lately.
It's like a demented, twisted, fluidly animated Schoolhouse Rock and I absolutely love it!!
Acid not required.
I think your brain would melt if you added LSD to this.
Imagine showing this to someone from the 70s.
I like how this is like the most relaxing song and the music video makes everyone uncomfortable
for some reason this video is so comforting
Like MIDNIGHT GOSPEL
for real
while the album isn't pure highlights, the highlights are an utter delight to listen to
this needs an extended version!!!
Fantastic visual part
Thank you for giving my favourite song on the album a video!
Not sure if anyone's picked up on this but, the song is called SUBWAYS and the main song sampled is Graham Bonnet's Warm RIDE.
Like a train carrying passengers to station to station, it's as if Warm Ride carries this song.
Those funky bass line slides got me feeling like dmt excretions are taking place in my mental subway. A timeless feel of eronuous rythmic love.
THAT WAS WEIRD....BUT I LIKED IT!!!! COOL MUSIC 👍👍👍😎😎😎
I can't stop watching this...
Is this what the school house rock animators are doing nowadays
😆😆😆
i wish i could hear this song again
Sometimes my life feels like a bun sliding around a mobius hot dog
The fact that this exists, is reason enough to be happy about life😬
God, this track feels so incomplete without Going Home
+juiceboii hella? thats NW? slang hmmmm
+juiceboii LOVE Going Home. Such a city vibe. Especially the end "is mom home? Nothin' just letting you know I'm okay and shit..."
+Derrick sommers It is Californian english: hella = hell of
is that another good song?? Bring it here!
Could someone link this song pleaseeee
this is toooo gooodddd
this reminds me of that time when i accidentally took the subway in nyc while i was on acid
Tell us more
I had a similar experience
I did sorta the same thing but in LA
Did this in San Francisco and comtemplated what if death has infinite darkness quite an interesting experience
I took the public transport in Bogotá Colombia, being in the highest part of an acid trip.
That was a very bad trip.
watching this has been rather delightful
Late 60's-early 70's Hanna Barbera meets early 2000's flash animation. I mean this in the best way possible.
Creativity is momentum
I love the 70´s cartoon style of the video
It reminds me to Sesame Street 70's aimated shorts or Schoolhouse Rock.
Bastard Child I disagree, it looks a lot like Adventure Time and Chowder.
This video is truly timeless. If this were released in 1970 you would have believed it, same with 2011. There is nothing that gives it away about "when" it was made, therefore making it a true classic.
Reminds me of the art of Peter Max. The artist who helped shape the psychedelic art for the mainstream audience in the 60s and 70s.
Yeah reminds me of yellow submarine
the Chandra song "Subways" that this samples is a favorite
Goddamn that was one beautifully animated music video. Love shit like this
Musicians live in a WHOLE different world on this planet.
Every time I watch this video I see something new
このPVほんま最高やわ。
Trippy music video, wish I had some bud
Same. But it's hella pricey on the east coast
DUDE WEED LMAO
+WayfaringAmoeba why lol ?
+hunter10291 really? In MA you can get an eighth for 35-40, doesn't seem too and to me
For the same price in this shit NJ county, the quality is absolutely garbage
Awe...
Get out of my head!
Tank u band.
Watched this awhile back on shrooms and the part where he dialed on the nipple phone made me laugh so hard
IT'S LIT
8-11-20 i just discovered their music today. This is fucking awesome.
My god...absurdly beautiful. You guys are the best.
Hearing some good filtered electronic music after sooooo long
And by "electronic" you mean a regurgitation of Graham Bonnet's version of a Bee Gees song. ;)
This entire music video is basically just a fever dream
2:59 I swear, that sounds like Patrick and Spongebob screaming
Oh shit, exatctly!!!
Shiiiittt, I thought you were right 😂
Beautiful synth and video
This is the single most disturbing thing i've seen in my life
And i don't regret one second of it.
Genius
Now I want to hear a future funk remix of this song.
best video ever
Never watch this after 24 hours without sleep, it somehow becomes even weirder.
This makes me so happy every time!
I feel like the 70's came up and smacked me around. I feel so violated now......
Unbelivable!

Just saw them Live in Vegas along w/ Empire of The Sun and they were freaking amazing guys! 🔥
Graham Bonnet Warm Ride groove is soooo good
I just discovered this. I love it. Everything about it.
Probably the most tripiest video I've ever seen
This is a 100% accurate documentary of my daily commute.
the fact they sampled SickAnimation makes me SO HAPPY. Marc M deserves more recognition!
what did they sample?
Wonderful!!! I really felt like this was a perfect interpretation of the song. It has a lot of the same themes and feel to the album as a whole as well. AWESOME!!
this is marvellous
Holy chit... New Avalanches music... o.O
The new album came out two months ago.
Damn. It's been a looooooooong time coming.
this song is not new, this song is a song released in 1978 by Graham Bonnent under the title of 'Warm Ride'
Hehe...
Wrong, Subways samples Bonnet, along with numerous other records, to make a new song.
This is some acid trip level stuff but a catchy tune.
The new iPhone commercial looks a lot like this video.
Same animation studio.
Warm Ride? Graham Bonnet? OMG this is delightful.
This song brings me a whole other type of nostalgia. I can't describe it
Wow awesome creativity at work

this is so clutch
1:31 Are those na-na's from "Gettin' Jiggy With It"?
Yeah it's the same ones but Will Smith actually sampled it from Sang and Dance by The Bar-Keys
❤ me encanta!!!!!!!!!!!

This song is hyptonizing
That station's on the corner of Lysergic Avenue and Sesame Street!
Lysergic Sesame Drive lol

Oh yeah, this is definitely meant to be watched while tripping. I bet they were animating this based on a trip themselves haha- plus the music fits it absolutely perfectly.
Outstanding performance to Jules de Chateleux & Clemence Cuvelie as well as Mrzyk & Moriceau!
this track is too hot, like when i first heard daft punk's aerodynamic hot
Cool animation !
