    It may be a midlife thing, I’m 54 and have challenged myself to master nunchucks. I have been practicing since beginning of this spring, minus a month I had both wrists and hands with stitches from dog bites. It hurts still but I’m back practicing again. I’ve video of my progress and I think I’m doing pretty good. I love it,
    Bruised up,
    Pippi

    Ken! I am so glad I found out about you! I have been a martial artist for 16 years, and have been using nunchakus as a weopon for a long time. Only recently have I been getting into flow arts ... I think you're talk on practice and injuries is hugely important. I almost broke my elbow after watching a Bruce Lee video. Although I learned a lot, and am way better, way to go on promoting safety! (Can't wait till you teach them on fire, that is a def goal)

    Just so everyone knows ken is the best at giving tutorials on nunchucks. I have watched countless hours of other people giving tutorials on nunchucks and all's they say is ok you just do this, this, and that. Oh don't forget to roll your wrist. Never explaining exactly what you need to do. Then I saw ken and I was all like Damon this guy is like a Bruce lee student nunchucks. Lol also I put batteries in my foam chucks for a little more weight. Thanks ken, you're the best.

    • @kalel4677
      @kalel4677 10 лет назад

      ***** yes I was looking for a way to give them more weight and the guy said put batteries inside the pvc pipe and tape the bottom. I like them better now because more heavier and I am still protected from injury more :)

It is sooooooo nice of you to ask to be safe.. Thank you:):) I used to train on oak chucks[used to hit myself many times though :D].. now I use foams.. I get lot of inspiration from your videos !!

    I've got two nunchucks. One with a smaller chain and another with a longer one. I love the longer one which is a steel nunchuck, lighter than my oak nunchuck. But due to it's long chain, I can't do the wrist rolls with it. Whereas I can do it with my oak nunchuck with smaller chain. What should I do with my steel nunchuck?

    Thanks for the video. Learned a few new tricks. Earned a new respect for you when you dropped them and didn't edit it. I agree wholeheartedly; everyone makes mistakes with them and anyone who says otherwise is lying, editing, or shooting a million re-takes before they get it right. As for the people who say "foam is for pussies", haters gonna hate. I highly doubt they are half good. Easy to leave a nasty comment with the safety of an anonymity. Just keep doing your thing man.

      ***** Thank you for responding. How did you wind up with those numbers? Are those numbers based upon the length of your forearm and width of your hands? I've made a few different pairs and I can't seem to find which sizes I'm comfortable with. Did you make those chucks? Also curious how much each chuck weighs.
