Spice simulation with Kicad

Update (1-4-2020): These days, I would advise to use the libraries: pspice and Simulation_SPICE
Library mentioned in the video (no longer my preferred one)

When I try to import the spice-basic.lib I get an error message saying that the file is not a valid eescheme library. Any ideas how to fix that? I use the windows version of kicad.

Isn't the version you mentioned at 0:21 the linux kernel version? i think that's not the kicad version.

You are right, the version number of KiCad is 2018-01-17 version 60963fe. Thanks for spotting my mistake.

Have a look at users.skynet.be/hugocoolens/nonprop/installatie-linux-software.html Look for the linux commands in number 7 and 8. If you execute these the installation will be OK (with the correct libraries for simulation and pcb-design)

It was Mint probably Tara, meanwhile I upgraded to Mint 19.2
