Even if you don’t know theory at all this is a great lesson. It allows you to follow along at any level and really feel the keys which I believe is the most important part of learning piano. Don’t get caught up in the theory get your fingers dancing around and comfortable with good technique and the theory will become easier as you are more comfy. Great vid for improvising at any level!
I took some piano lessons many years ago to take me to the next level, and the guy had no idea what to show me. You are providing me everything that I was looking for.
Thanks Jonny, I play jazz and blues keyboard with my master, and I must admit that Jazz changed my life, because it gives me happiness and feeling good, I will follow your advice! 🎼🎵🎹🎶😀
Thank you so much! Im playing the piano for more than 6 years right now and I never did something like jazz. But now I can play smooth jazz! That's sooooooo awesome! Thanks again!
I always like to play jazz thank you for showing me now I learned something good lesson from you i really appreciate it musician from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Brilliant ! I’ve been listening to Brian Culbertson and Jeff Lorber for years and wondering how they did it and this is finally getting me to where , I know how.
Appreciate video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (search on google)? It is a good one off product for learning piano fast without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cooworker at very last got amazing results with it.
As usual Jonny, you keep putting up these great nuggets ... so much so, that I haven't been able to dig into any of your proper "lessons" for awhile! (Part of that is due to my schedule, but seriously, these great little tidbits keep my playing and learning fresh!)
Hi, loved this video, thank you. But do you (or does anyone) have any tips on how to put it all together? Having a hard time combing the chord pop (repeated three times) explained at the start with all those right hand riffs. It's really hard! My left hand keeps wanting to follow the rhythm of the right hand. Is there a separate video on the paid site to explain this?
One quick question Jonny... You're using Cm7 in this yet on other tutorials you're using Cmaj7. What makes you decide which one to go with? 🤔 Ps. Love your lessons 👍
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Is there a chance for you to upload the 2nd part of the "Autumn Leaves" with "Bass Walking"? Thank you. Hope to hear from you.
Great lesson, as always! P.S. I never understood why smooth jazz is dismissed by some. Of course, there are different artists of this subgenre who differ significantly in their degree of musicianship and technical prowess, but still, all in all, smooth jazz is a cool genre.
Awesome, Johnny, thank you so much for that! :):) Wondering if you'd have time to do a part two to this video and incorporate Brian Culbertson's, 'Just Another Day' into the lesson. I see he used the techniques in his song, that you taught in this video. I especially love the ending.
hey man where are the backing tracks ? do I have to pay for a backing track ? because it's so frustrating finding them in the links u keep posting under ur videos!
Sorry for the off-topic question, but where can I buy the app that shows the digital image of the keyboard above the real keyboard and illustrates the notes being played? What is the app/software called? Thanks in advance.
Love Jonny ... at first I thought this was a site for 5 year olds, cause he’s so sweet when he teaches . But then he plays like an McCoy Tyner. The real McCoy. 😃
It sounds exactly like the default CFX sample set on the CP4. Keyscape has a sampled C7 (smaller grand piano), so it has less pronounced overtones and harmonics.
Cheers for the Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Riddleagan Possessing Piano Remedy (should be on google have a look)? It is a good exclusive product for learning how to play the piano easily minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy finally got astronomical success with it.
Just one lesson and you are already playing jazz❤!
Excellent!!! Thank you Jhony for sharing

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Is there a chance for you to upload the 2nd part of the "Autumn Leaves" with "Bass Walking"? Thank you. Hope to hear from you.
Beginner tip: delete the Eb in the left hand (or add it in randomly for color). Much easier to play plus it sounds cool to randomly add the Eb.
Jonny Be Good. Very good.

Hi can you play smooth jazz on C#
Love Jonny ... at first I thought this was a site for 5 year olds, cause he’s so sweet when he teaches .
But then he plays like an McCoy Tyner. The real McCoy. 😃
Hi, what is the tonal center? 1:00
Thanks Ralph Fiennes !
We are supposed to learn this in 5 days?
Hi jonny, may iknow is this piano using Keyscape sound piano?
It sounds exactly like the default CFX sample set on the CP4. Keyscape has a sampled C7 (smaller grand piano), so it has less pronounced overtones and harmonics.
Thanks Jonny. Just a side note...You look like a young Ralph feines ,
Quer dizer então que vou ter que tirar de ouvido essa parte (0:04/0:09)? Heehehe
