Mike's writing, lyrics are incredible. He always delivers. Some of the absolute best I've ever heard. I worked in the music industry as a sound tech for 15 years and have heard the good , the bad, and the sublime. He is on the top shelf. I can't get enough. I haven't missed a show for about 8 years. :) Saw him first in Soul Coughing in 1997 :) in Seattle in a very small intimate small Venue called "The Off Ramp, connected to a bar called Rebar's in Seattle. Anyone remember that? I knew I had finally found my music, that I can dance to LOL Justin listen and watch. ;)
Man, Mike is so incredibly talented. What a great show I just saw him at in Portland Oregon at the Doug Fir. Just finished reading his book ("The Book of Drugs") today. Mike's songs just gets better and better. I'm glad he's working with artists that respect him now. (I met Andrew "Scrap" at that show. How amazing a cello player he was. And such a down to earth and humble guy.)
